Oogie Boogie on sale date June 26 early for MK June 24-25

I don’t think it matters at all. Several dates did sell out on opening day, even if one or two parties end up not selling out totally, Disney will not lose money. And for guests it is actually better to have options that are still available for a longer time. Not everyone is so I formed as us posters here. If they only sell out half of the parties offered, they might feel like change is necessary.
I disagree - it shows that demand is down. Of course Disney will make money. I am sorry they added 3 extra nights this year and only sold out 2. You are also forgetting that Disney still has to pay to staff to cover the event. This is the first time in years that it has NOT sold out. It is significant from that stand point alone. Only locals have the flexibity if tickets do not sell out - not out-of town guests like myself. Demand is down.

Do the characters at the photo stops sign your book? I hate to carry mine around if not but it would be great opportunity to get some unusual ones!

It depends on the stop. The Sandersons don't, and I am pretty sure Kingdom Hearts does not either. Pixar stop depends on the charactter. The Elementals for example did not. Inside Out... Anger does not. I got a signature from Sadness once but was not at Bash. Joy signs throughout the day. The Fountain characters usually signed in the past. Cheshire has signed in Paris, that much I can tell. Megara signed at that surprise appearance I mentioned above. Pain and Panic signed in the past, but that may change due to the length of the line

Good points, observations all the way around...

Yeah, I'm also hoping for Zombie Cap. I agree that we're probably out of luck. Do you happen to remember which oddball Marvel characters came out recently?

My other hope is that they freshen up the Pixar lineup a little bit. Boo would be a great addition. I was also thinking maybe the boys from Onward, or maybe Elio? I'm not holding my breath for these either.

The Marvel ones were the Eternals, Monica from The Marvels, Red Guardian, Jane Thor, Scarlet Witch and I think I am missing one more. I wouldn't be surprised if Mr Knight from Moon Knight makes a reappearance.

The Onward guys were actually out at 2 Bash events in I want to say 2023. So that is not totally impossible.

You’re jumping to a lot of conclusions. Historically, few Halloween events sold out at Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom (MK offered a season pass for awhile). There were many years in which we went on a whim.

In 3019, we bought out OBB tickets in mid-September for a mid-October date. Several posters in this thread said they did the same for 2022. The fabled 2023 event likely sold out in hours due to scalpers, not demand. FOMO played a role a year later.

You’re “sorry” Disney added events but of the 5 events added since the fabled 2023 sell out, only two are available. My bet is that those two events are close to sell outs and wouldn’t be surprised if both do sell out before the event. Yes, Disney has to pay for the actors… but tickets are $155 each. I don’t think Disney is sorry at all. No doubt they’ve been increasing event capacity in recent years. They’re certainly not losing money.

Demand is clearly slower than last year but the same is true at WDW. Three events remain available for sale the next two weeks. We went to WDW on a whim a year ago this past Friday and MNSSHP was completely sold out through Labor Day. Thankfully my brother-in-law was able to get DVC Member Services to open up a few extra tickets.

The parks were crazy busy this weekend. Let’s not attribute this to back to school, because kids go back to school every year and it hasn’t been like this. It wouldn’t surprise me if we see a record fall in the parks. And I expect Halloween season will begin the same time next year, if not a few days sooner (extra OBB event).

Not sorry they added extra nights. But only 2 out of 3 sold out was my point I am not addressing any of the other issues. OOGIE did not sell out in 2025 before the nights started is my point. I have been able to get tickets at the hotel for the events in WDW all at check in for a while even when sold out. My whole point is the event did not sell out. August 21 and August 28 are still available.

WDW is not Disneyland. And yes theme park profits are up. Check the quarterly reports..attendance is flat but increased guest spending and higher resort hotel occupant as for a record fall - not sure but not addressing it. WDW is not dominated by locals like Disneyland.

I am sure the parks were packed this weekend. But saturday was a tier 5 day $196 and Sunday is Tier 4 at $180 and Friday was Tier 3 at 164. The Keys flooded the parks and the 70th ticket offer end on 8/14.

All the Oogie new mechandise dropped today during the day...it was crowded with all the resellers buying everything and collectors rushing in.

I believe you said the events would sell out in the past. This is not a right or wrong situation. Disney makes its money either way. Demand is down. The economy going into the fall is fluid so I expect the Keys will pack the parks and keep Disney happy.

FYI: Back in the late 90s...when Disneyland first had Mickey's Halloween Treat parties -- all the parties sold out. I went to most of them back then. 1995 and 1996 I think there were 5 or 6 nights each year.

I left the parks just after 2 pm and the 5 southbound was backed up several exits before Disneyland Drive. Allow plenty of time to park and get through security.

The Pokemon Festival is affecting parking but it is packed.
I parked in Mickey & Friends on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Today's afternoon traffic is not from Pokemon. It is from OBB.

Line to enter DCA at 2 pm. These are not OBB guests. They closed several of the entrance turnstiles on the right side (towards Soarin) to use them for OBB guests.

Entrance into M&F at 2:15 pm. Like I said, the carpool lane was backed up onto the freeway, as was the Disneyland Drive exit.

On Friday at 9PM, the lines to enter DCA and DL were mingled together. Web Slingers was showing an 85 minute wait, both Monsters and Ariel were over 40. Honestly, it was the most people I’ve ever seen at DCA. I highly, highly doubt this was stimulated by thousands of people rushing to drop several hundred dollars on a last minute 70th ticket deal that saves them $30, or MK desperate to get a first look at merch.

Last night we stopped at Knott’s and it was equally insane. Almost 45 minutes to park and get into park in the late evening hours, and Fast Lane lines showing 30+ min waits when it’s usually 0.

Your memory is a bit off here. Mickey’s Halloween Treat was offered in ‘95 and ‘96 but did not return for ‘97. Per the OCR, attendance was well below expectations. Mind you, admission was around $20 w/ one of the many coupons available. In 1996, I recall Lucky Supermarkets offering a coupon that brought the price to around $17.

The event returned in the mid-00s but gained huge popularity only in the late 2010s. Until post-COVID, there were only a handful of dates that you needed to purchase tickets in advance for.

Disney’s goal for many years has been to expand the length of Halloween season. Your previous posts make it sound as if expansion is a failure at DLR, but again, they’re starting almost two weeks earlier than two years ago, with 5 additional dates - 3 of which have sold out. I’ll maintain my bet that both remaining dates will sell out but even if they don’t, I would be shocked if they weren’t close to a sellout.

I don’t understand why you don’t think MNSSHP is a fair comparison. OBB August dates are $30 to $50 more and unlike MNSSHP there are no discounts. Most of the cost structure is in favor of DLR - MK takes a big attendance hit on party days and this sells fewer LL, etc. DCA doesn’t incur a cost to clear the park out since it shares facilities with DL, which is open anyway.

Again, I don’t see how you perceive this to be failure. IMO, additional October dates would be more beneficial but Disney is seeking to length Halloween seasons

BTW, you’re incorrect - once MNSSHP is sold out, no additional tickets are made available. WDW resort guests cannot get in. They withhold a small number of tickets, like DL, and sell them at their discretion but that’s it.

I so love Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella....I wish they would have them out doing meet and greets like they did before. That would definitely add to the appeal for us at least.

Last year Anastasia, Drizella and Lady Tremaine were roaming in Fantasyland late afternoons. It wasn't a stationary meet and greet, but they were present. You had to walk with them though. That was a fun mob. lol

I’m sad I didn’t buy tickets for this year. I’d love to meet the Cheshire cat. too last minute on flights to buy any of the August dates still left. What’s the chance of getting last-minute tickets for September or October from Disney directly?

Errrr Besides Cheshire Cat and the Dumbs most of these aren't too rare. Red guardian was just out and Wanda is out on someday's during the the spooky months

For an extra event you know who I want....Zombie Captain America (and other Marvel Zombies), Moon Knight, the Were Wolf from Were Wolf by night and also Man-Thing From the same special
Also just more Villains with side kicks

Cruella de Vil with her side kicks or her unique car
Hades with Pain and Panic
Captain Hook with Smee

Plus you could have old Villains that are off treat trails as meet and greet characters....

If you love the event cool but for its price they do no invest enough into it becoming more.....I will always bring up HHN at Universal because that event is completely different each year and tickets are 100 bucks less.
I don't need everything new but use Philharemagic for a Villains or Nightmare Before Christmas show.....have a WOC Villains or Halloween show...Change the parade up more...and like I said before have Villains with side kicks and have old Villains from the trail meeting guests....

Well I for my part missed Red Guardian and am over the moon. :D

There have been questions about NBC show or I think the other alternatives are Sandersons in the post party surveys for ages, but nothing ever came from it. So far. There was a Villainy WOC one year and if memory serves me correct that didn't go over too well. Has anyboy but me done the Villains Nite and saw the Club Bald Mountain show?

The villains are definitely something I agree on. Getting rid of the Villains stop with characters rotating was a big mistake. I still fondly remember the villains roaming near Hyperion during daytime.

I am doing both Halloween Horror Nights and Bash this year. I paid 121 for my HHN ticket and 139 respectively 159 for Bash. If you can get HHN for a 100 Dollar price difference can you get mine next year? ;) If you take their Express Pass for my night the ticket would actually be almost 100 more expensive than my Bash ticket.

But seriously, I don't think you can compare these events. HHN are not "family friendly." At HHN there were three incidents in the last 2 years where my friends ended up having to shield me from drunks. People seem to spend whatever money they save compared to other events to get drunk and p*ss their pants when getting scared - personally witnessed in the Insidious house. I mean good on them if this is what it takes to enjoy themselves.

I had fun, but it was a different kind of fun than at the Bash.

I don't know if this is a one off, but I caught a ton of complaints that HHN are too repetetive this year, especially the Tram Tour is being mentioned. Personally I am going for the Wyatt Sicks house and opinions seem to be quite split about that one too.

Miniscule chances if you stay at a Disney hotel. Didn't even happen last year.

Tickets start at 77 Bucks...express is an add on so you can't compared them

I'm talking about the investment into the event HHN every year gets new houses and they fill these houses with actors

This event has 9ish treat trails with Villains and two....two get switched out every year and then they show in some "rare" characters

Glad you like Red Guardian he is amazing...but could just be in the land since he's not themed to Halloween.

Also sorry you've had bad experience but I went HHN like 9 times last year and not one drunk person bothered me and I've never had that issue at HHN not saying it doesn't happen but 99/100 people are not going to be affected by drunk people

But once again I want them to invest into this event have shows that rotate and chance WOC does not need to be 30 mins make a 15 or under min show thats fun, change the parade up use Philharemagic building with Tickets costing 140-190ish Disney can afford to put more money into the event is what I am saying

I guess it depends on your definition of "rare"... I'm an out-of-towner, who has only been to Disneyland Resort a few times in the last few years. Cheshire Cat and Tweedles are indeed rare for me, but so are Meg and the Lightfoot brothers. Pain and Panic were at OBB last year, but I'd still consider them rare characters. Ditto for Wanda. Red Guardian made a limited time appearance for the first time a few months earlier this year. He left, and is now back for OBB (only?). I'd consider him to be a rare character also.

That being said, I love all your ideas... Marvel zombies, Mr Knight, Were Wolf, sidekicks - yes, yes, yes, and yes!!! Let's send emails or whatever, and will this into being!!!
