Buffy/Angel/Firefly Fan Thread

I love Anya too! Great character!! I actually just saw the episode that has her sing about bunnies.... too funny.:lmao:

I stated earlier how I didn't really care for seasons 4-7 but I must admit that I loved Anya. She wasn't a major part of the show until season 4 but she was great addition to the cast.

I loved Buffy/Angel but I also loved Spike. Felt bad for him that Buffy never could really truly love him.

When I was watching Angel I liked the Angel/Cordy thing but as you all know that never really went anywhere as she got possessed and then into a coma.:sad2:

Spike/Dru

As for Lorne he cracked me up to no end, plus those high notes would scare most anyone at a karaoke bar!

Anya was hilarious, but how else thinks Andrew was pretty funny in Season 7? I've been watching Season 7 lately, haven't watched it since it first aired, and that boy cracks me up.

The comic is worth reading, it's only $5 an issue, so I think it is worth it. They are pretty hilarious, just like the show was, and i always gasp when I turn the last page.

Stew_Mouse, I agree Andrew was hilarious the last season. I really enjoyed the episode where he was making his documentary. Too funny!

$5?!?!? I pay around $2.50 at my local store! We have two stores in town and the other one is more expensive. Maybe you can check around?

Lilah and Wesley didn't die in the same season of Angel. Did you mean Fred and Wesley? That was sad.

Hmmm...no, I meant Lilah. I think I was probably the only Westley/Lilah fan out there. Guess the seasons all start to run together eventually.

Why don't you like Serenity, ZephyrHawk?

I'm sorry, what movie are you referring to? ;)

The answer to that is spoileriffic. Let's just say I got sick of Whedon doing bad things to any character for whom I professed an undying love. So I decided not to ever make mention of my adoration for a certain character who reminds me extensively of the wonderful man I married. Then I was told, by a trusted source, that certain things would not happen in the movie, which then did. So, I felt betrayed. Both by my trusted source and by Joss. How on earth does he KNOW?!? AARRRGGGHHH!!! There's even a song that was playing on the radio after I left the theatre that I can't listen to because it makes me mad/depressed. So, yes, scarred for life.

Anyways, in all sincerity, it was an excellent movie and I own the DVD. Anyone who likes Buffy or Angel should really give Firefly (and Serenity) a try.

Count my family in! We watched them all after the fact, though we're still working on Angel. I think we are toward the end of Season 2, getting it from Netflix. I think we love Buffy and Firefly equally, Angel a distant third. Had to tell DD last night that Jayne will be on Chuck! Thanks for that tidbit. Looking forward to Nathan Fillion on DH too.

But we need more Emma Caulfield! Loved, loved her on Buffy. DD is a big Spike fan too, it's hard to find that actor on anything. Plus, he doesn't bleach his hair anymore!

They look like they may be missing the Whedon humor element that set his shows apart. You know those scenes that pop into your head at random times. Bunnies! And the scene at the end of Serenity where they are all about to die, and Simon tells Kaylie he wishes he had been with her. Then she changes her mind about dying! Good stuff.

I'm going to give Moonlight a shot, though. Because we are also hard core Veronica Mars fans, and Jason Dohring is on that one!

Does anyone else think VM felt like a Whedon show at times? I think he was a big fan too.

I got hooked on Firefly when it was on FOX (stupid, evil FOX) and I loved Serenity (MORE MOVIES, MORE MOVIES)! So then I got all the Buffy serires on DVD and watched all those. LOVE THEM> It was a sad, sad day when I watched the last DVD and realized there were no more Buffies to watch :-( I am trying to watch Angel, but can't really get into it.

For the record, I was a Buffy/Spike fan. Angel was so broody after awhile.

Oops, yea, i guess they are only $3. I actually get them for free because I work in a bookstore, so I didn't really pay attention to price. Maybe I saw the Canadian label?

Ok, I have to ask. Relationship wise, where do you all stand?
Buffy/Angel was much better than Buffy/Spike, but Willow/Oz was my favorite relationship on Buffy by far.
Buffy and Angel by far..... I couldn't stand it when she was with Spike.
I hated it when Spike and Buffy were together. I liked Spike until all that happened.
As for Lorne he cracked me up to no end, plus those high notes would scare most anyone at a karaoke bar!
Lorne was awesome.

Andrew was hysterical. I loved the way he said vampire, it was like "vampyre", all drawn-out and hilarious.

That was my favorite Season 7 episode. Except for "Selfless", the Anya-centric one.

I liked Lilah too, for the record. There weren't enough strong female characters like her on Angel. And I now understand exactly what your problem was with Serenity. I was pretty upset with that myself. Now he's a leaf on the wind...

Your opinion of the shows is similar to mine. Angel just wasn't as good. Bad news, too-it doesn't get any better than season 2. Except maybe season 5. And I totally agree - Emma Caulfield was one of the most talented actors on Buffy. I think all she's done since is a cheesy Lifetime movie. Bummer.

I haven't yet seen Veronica Mars (It's on the Netflix list), but I think Whedon loved it so much he guest starred on it! As for those Whedon scenes that keep popping into your head, that happens to me all the time too. Remember "I like money better than people. People can so rarely be exchanged for goods and/or services!" You'd be surprised how easy it is to work that line into conversation. Bonus question: Does anybody know who said that line?

No one loved money more than Anya. I can even hear her saying it in my mind. She was one of the best characters.

I love this thread. I feel like I belong!!

Here's one of my all time favorite Buffy related pictures...

And one for you Anya fans...

and just because we all need a little Captain Tightpants at times....

I've seen the other two pictures, but the one of Spike and Giles is new to me. It reminds me of the time Spike was chained up in Giles' bathroom and drinking his blood out of the "Kiss the Librarian" mug. I loved that scene! The whole plot thread of Spike living with Giles was great. Ahh, back in the day, when Spike wasn't doing unspeakable things to our favorite Slayer and Dawn was a time of day, not a character. Oh, who here hated Kennedy? (raises hand)
