Buffy/Angel/Firefly Fan Thread

Love, love, loved Firefly. We missed it during the first run, but were hooked when we saw the DVDs. I wish the movie had done better at the box office so we would at least have a shot at more of them.

I've seen the other two pictures, but the one of Spike and Giles is new to me. It reminds me of the time Spike was chained up in Giles' bathroom and drinking his blood out of the "Kiss the Librarian" mug. I loved that scene! The whole plot thread of Spike living with Giles was great. Ahh, back in the day, when Spike wasn't doing unspeakable things to our favorite Slayer and Dawn was a time of day, not a character. Oh, who here hated Kennedy? (raises hand)

There was a scene in Season 5 that I loved. When Buffy says to Giles, "How bored were you last year?" and Giles responds, "I watched Passions with Spike!"

I love all of them. I was late becoming a Whedonite but now I'm fully converted...except for the whole Conner and Kennedy thing.

My favorite relationship was Anya and Xander, my 2 favorite characters getting together it was perfect. It broke my heart when he left her at the alter and I constantly hoped they'd be reunited. Of all of the deaths on Buffy/Angel and even Firefly/Serenity Anyas was the worst. As long as both of them were alive I could hope for them to rconcile.

I didn't really ship for anyone in particular. Although I remember being disappointed that Buffy and Riley couldn't work things out.

Probably my favorite relationship was Cordelia and Doyle. :) I loved Doyle's character.

I also just thought Wesley got so HOT as the series went on. DH and I will constantly refer to ourselves as Roque Demon Hunters.

I thought that the Passions stuff was hilarious as well!

There was one time when Spike was chained up in the bathroom and he was all upset because he was going to miss Passions and Timmy was stuck down a well.

At least I think it was something like that. Don't know the exact quote. It was incredibly funny every time they mentioned Passions though.:rotfl2:

there was also an episode where Spike, Buff's Mom and Dawn watch Passions in Spikes lair. :)

Giles: I was 10, when my father told me I was destined to be a Watcher. He was one, and his mother before him. I was to be next.
Buffy: Were you thrilled beyond all measure?
Giles: No. I had very definite plans about my future. I was to be a fighter pilot. Or, a grocer.

Cordelia: All this fuss over a stupid book? Why don't you people get your priorities straight? Hel-lo! Cheerleading competition this week!

Cordelia: Darla. It's all about Darla. One thing you can say about Angel, at least he's consistent it's always some little blonde driving him over the edge.

Angel: Oh, yeah. I saw their production of Giselle in 1890. Cried like a baby. And I was evil!

Dr. Simon Tam: No... this must be what going mad feels like.

Mal: I don't like fellows that kill me. Not in general.

And my favorite exchange EVER!
Mal: It looks like we arrived just in the nick of time. What does that make us?
Zoë Washburne: Big damn heroes, sir.
Mal: Ain't we just.

and another favorite and I have used the "Joan Collins tude" in real life.

"Whatever is causing the Joan Collins 'tude, deal with it. Embrace the pain, spank your inner moppet, whatever, but get over it." -- Cordelia

Remember "I like money better than people. People can so rarely be exchanged for goods and/or services!" You'd be surprised how easy it is to work that line into conversation. Bonus question: Does anybody know who said that line?

I think Willow said that, as an insult to poor Anya. I loved Anya too...seeing pattern. Also, was angry for months at Xander when he left her at the altar. My DH and I still occaisionally have arguments over this (he thinks what Xander did was justified).

I have always enjoyed Cordy's line from the first or second episode after Buffy attacks her at the Bronze "God, What is your childhood trauma!" :lmao:

I loved Buffy and Angel and watched them from the start.. so sad when they ended.

So many classic one-liners... my favorite was at the end of the first season when Buffy was fighting The Master... she looked at his blood-stained mouth and said "you have fruit punch mouth" :rotfl2:

I loved Buffy & Angel... except the last seasons of both. Hated the Buffy finale so I keep on watching Season 1-6 and never make it to 7th :)
As for Angel, I could never make myself watch the finale. Barely got over Cordelia dying so Wesley+Gunn in one episode ?? No way.

One of my favorite quotes from the early Buffy days

"One of these days, you're going to wake up in a coma!"

:yay: my people!!! I just love, love, love all three of these shows. But if I had to chose I'd say that I liked Angel a little bit better then Buffy. I just really liked the darker tone in it. I even liked Conner. Not all of the episodes, mind you. But I didn't hate him. I thought his character had so much potential that was never really explored. And I loved how they brought him back in the last season. But my favorite character? Hands down..... Lorne.

I loved Firefly but that show makes me weep. It had so much potential - I still cannot believe they canceled it.

Buffy was my first love, but it got to a point where SMG made me want to slap Buffy. She was so whiney and poor me at times. Truthfully I watched Buffy for the other characters.

I think it did get a few Emmy nominations (Hush was nominated, and I think the makeup crew got a nod too) but no wins.

Actually Dayne Johnson got nominated and won for Surprise/Innocence. I know this because he's an old friend, that year we all got a big picture of him with his award in our Christmas card. :rotfl: I was really happy for him. I honestly believe a large part of that show's (And Angel's) success was the make-up. They always did an amazing job creating these characters. He's working on Criminal Minds now.

I love Buffy/Angel. Firefly was cancelled before I could get into it. I do have it in my queue for Netflix.

I just found out that they are airing episodes of Angel on TNT early in the morning(6am et). Used to be 2 back to back episodes, now down to one. Then I flip over to f/x to watch an episode of Buffy.

I love both shows(had a secret crush on Oz). I preferred the Buffy/Spike storyline to Buffy/Angel or Buffy/Riley. Couldn't stand Riley. Didn't really like the whole "initiative" story line.

I didn't mind Connor on Angel. I could not stand the female detective(I think her name was Kate) that was on in the first couple seasons.

Now, where can I find all 3 series on DVD, cheap? I really miss these shows.

Check whedonesque.com. They post each time someone is selling each series cheap. Alot of times Amazon runs deals where you can get a season for $20.00 or under.

Joss is Boss. Big Buffy fan for years, took me a little longer to get into Angel....Firefly probably moved ahead to become my favorite of the three...it has so much undiscovered potential! I miss it the most because there is so much that we just don't know...My husband and I are always shamelessly promoting it to friends and family, we've held Firefly parties, and even had a Firefly themed wedding....I know, dorky, but we're hooked. I think we'll have to go buy another copy of Firefly on DVD because we've literally worn out our other one....

"Did he just go crazy and fall asleep?"

I'd be hard pressed to choose my favorite line from Firefly, there are too many!!!!

Everyone is posting such good quotes! I've got another of my favorites from Firefly: "Some people juggle geese!" Wash was a fountain of good lines.

To ZephyrHawk, you had the correct answer. Willow did say that making fun of Anya. I liked the line though, because it sums Anya up so well.

Thanks for the Emmy info, Kikifan. Buffy had such great makeup work, the award was well-deserved. Also, I, too, sometimes felt like I was watching BtVS for all the characters who weren't Buffy.

BelleAmy: Will you tell us more about your Firefly wedding? I shamelessly promote Firefly too. Have you actually gotten anybody hooked on the show? I've gotten some people hooked on Buffy, but not Firefly. Many people I know already watch it.

Oh and to the people who were talking about Passions, wasn't Spike's exact line "Timmy's down the bloody well!"? That was some funny stuff.

Alright, behold the dorkiness....

It was more of an asian themed wedding, but the Firefly verse was the inspiration for the whole thing....

Our decorations...

The Chinese symbol for Serenity that my amazing SIL stayed up all night making...

Please take into account that this was our backyard, which a month before was so overgrown, no reasonable person would set foot out the back door...we completely demolished and rebuilt a backyard that by anyone's account was beyond help...We also built the decking around the pond and the pergola that was the centerpeice to the ceremony itself...

Our invitations were stamped with the Chinese symbol for Serenity, which I special ordered off the internet...I also made a wedding soundtrack which included tracks from the Firefly soundtrack and the acoustic version of the Firefly theme which plays during the credits of Serenity the movie....My husband entered the ceremony to that theme and we said our vows during the songs off the soundtrack. Many of the other songs off the soundtrack were bluegrass, trying to keep with the western theme....

Our favors, with the asian influence, and I created all the packaging with cherry blossoms and the Serenity font for all type.

As for recruiting people to watch Firefly, we've successfully converted my husbands parents, my parents, and quite a few friends of the family....lets just say last Christmas was a good year for our Firefly addiction...EVERYONE either gave it or received it as a gift....I take great pleasure in passing it on to anyone I can...

What can I say, I look forward to every Whedon related project!!

I missed the Buffy/Angel era, but I'm working on convincing my friend to let me borrow both series so I can finally be a complete Whedonite.

But Firefly..ah, Firefly. Let me count the ways. I missed this show during it's original runnings, caught about 4 re-runs on the Sci-Fi channel and was hooked. I now own it and Serenity on DVD. I have converted six people to the Firefly love.

Also- I can kill you with my brain.
