Need to leave my car for the week at or near Logan airport. Any good budget places to leave it?
Thanks

Also interested, hopefully someone will have an answer. Might be better asked on the transportation boards.

I have parked my car a couple of times at Pre-Flight Parking in Chelsea. It is a secured lot with frequent shuttle service to Logan and if you go to their website you can get a coupon(usually 15 -20%) for a discount. You can also reserve a spot to insure against the lot being full. I've always made the reservation but haven't needed it yet.

Can you tell me how long of a ride this place is to the airport? Do they have 24 hour shuttles? Is it valet or do I take my keys?

Any chance you need a hotel the night before? The Hampton Inn right up the street has complimentary long term parking if you spend the night. (I'm sure there's a limit; we stayed a week.) It was right around $100. They do have a shuttle- you call them when you get back to the airport and they come right over.

We always use Pre-Flight too, and have been for the past several years. If you book on line you can also get a discount. As far as how long it takes to get to Logan from there, it usually takes 15 minutes or so, however now there is some construction in that area so expect 30 minutes or longer.

Nope no hotel needed. Do you know how long the construction will be going on? We aren't going until January.

This is what we normally do too.

I have parked at Wonderland station and took the T in to the airport - parking is abt $3 a day - "sort of" secure (you have to go through a gate, but it's always open). Car was a dirty MESS when I got back - it's amazing how much dust the city and the subway stirs up - so figure on an extra $10 for cleaning the car! lol. If you have a nicer car (we don't - we have an older minivan), I wouldn't leave it there more than a few days though just because of the security issue (or lack thereof). It takes about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to get to the airport from there.

Thanks that would definitely be considered budget however we are travelling with kids and in January. Too much trouble.

Hi, Not sure where you are traveling from. But we live on the south shore and have a fam of 6. We have found that it is cheaper for us to rent a limo to & from than to park our car for a week at Logan. Plus, it's a nice stress free way to start a vacation. I think including tip it was about 180 r/t last time. It was a GREAT treat for the kids.

Even if we used the local park and ride it would be $66 each way for 6 of us, and the parking would be in addition to that.

we've been trying to figure this out as well. We're down on the south shore but our return flight gets in too late for the P&B bus so we'd have to park at Logan Express in Braintree. Logan Express charges $22 r/t per person plus $11/day for parking. At this point we've decided to park at the economy lot at Logan airport as it's actually cheaper than logan express for our short (5 day) trip. It's not really budget but it's cheaper than the shuttle+parking or a town car/limo service.

Economy lot = $18/day x 5 days = $90
Logan Express = $11/day parking ($55) plus $22x2 (dd is free) = $99
Town car = >$160 from where we live

IF our flight got in earlier we had planned on taking Plymouth & Brockton which has free parking at their lot so it's $29/rt per person = $58.. that is a better option depending on where you live, times of flight, number of people, etc...

The advantage with onsite parking for us is that DH can drop me and DD off at the terminal with luggage, stroller, car seat, etc then go park the car and take the shuttle back. Their shuttles are 24/7 which was our biggest issue for our return flight.

I'll definitely be watching this thread for other options though.

I'm looking for a good park, sleep and fly option for Logan..... what is close to airport and gets good reviews for the shuttle, etc? neve been to this airport before....

YIKES, I just checked the night before our flight since we have a super early flight so it might be nice to not get up as early... and it's $269 plus taxes!!!! OUCH!

so far the cheapest I could find was best western in Revere....any advice? it was about 144.00 for the night

economy lot sounds good. Not sure where it is (if you would have to pay the exit toll from airport), but remember to add in gas & tolls (if applicable)also. I'm sure it would still be wiser for the budget. We usually go for 7-10days. That maybe why it is about as cheap for us to limo it. Plus the limo maybe more now with the price of gas. BTW, this is what we save our bottle return money for.

Last year we parked at Park Shuttle & Fly on Rt. 1A in East Boston. About a 5 minute shuttle ride to airport. The webstite is http://www.parkshuttlefly.com/

It was seamless. We reserved a spot online and there is a coupon for $2 off per day day or $10 off weekly that you can print from their website. The daily rate before coupon is $18.50 and the weekly rate is $105.

We were traveling with my parents but were driving separately to the airport. It was really easy to find, right off Rt 1A. We happened to pull in to the lot just as my parents were getting on the shuttle. We got to park right next to my parents and hopped on the shuttle they drove us directly to the airport and dropped us off at the gate. We had their card and they told us to just call when we disembarked. We picked up our luggage and they were waiting for us outside of the terminal. It was so easy and the most inexpensive option we found. We will never park at Logan again!

My uncle who travels extensively for business always parks here and he told us about it.

Just an FYI for parking at Logan. One of our trips we intended to park in the economy lot and take the shuttle, but when we arrive the economy lot was full and we had no time to figure out any additional options and had to park in the regular lot and spent about $250 to park for the week

good luck!

Another convenient, inexpensive, proximate option is the Thrifty rental lot. The rates are comparable to Pre-Flight, it's a straight ride to/from the airport, the shuttles run regularly, and (while I realize the airport parking companies can't control Mother Nature), Thrifty's cars haven't ever been flooded out in a deluge.

OUCH! That is definately far more than we got it for. Last time we did was last April. I guess they've gone up. (Or you're in a peak week or something?)

Any idea where I can find out details for this, i.e. pricing, hours, etc?

While we're planning for the economy lot at this point, I do want to have a back up plan or two or three, LOL
