Bucket list vacation

My bucket list is to travel to every state in the US and just explore them all. My wife and I plan to do this and are starting to put together the things we need to do it. It's really the only thing on my bucket list so I'm looking forward to making it happen.

Visiting all 50 states used to be on my bucket list. I'm at about 42 now, but completing all 50 doesn't seem as important to me now as it was in the past. Maybe eventually after I retire.

I really want to plan a trip to the Florida Keys. I’ve been to the lower Keys and had lunch and such in the upper, but I want to plan a long enough trip where we can spend a decent amount of time in each region.

DH and I are planning to visit the Keys in the fall. Maybe mid-October. It will be our first trip there. A few days in Key West and a night or two in one or two other places. Still have to decide whether to drive the whole way there or fly to Miami first.

Australia and New Zealand was always on my bucket list. But I can't sit in a plane that long, even in First Class. It would have to be an island jumper type of trip. Fly to Hawaii, spend a few days, then hopscotch across the South Pacific with two or three other stops. We'd need about three weeks minimum.

We are crossing off Ireland and Scotland in October

Looking into Croatia for next summer stopping 1st in Budapest

Alaska - just not sure yet how we want to go. Cruise? Fly and rent a car and go for 2-3 weeks? Or take our camper for a month or so.

I have a friend on FB that just drove to Alaska. She is a travel nurse and I assumed when she first posted about it that she was going there to work. No, taking her niece on a trip. But it seems like they drove up, looked around for maybe a day and drove back. Maybe the whole idea was the road trip and I love road trips but I can't imagine driving all the way to Alaska and not staying at least a few days.

Oh wow, I can’t imagine that either! If we drive or fly/rent a car I want to do lots of exploring 🙂

I change my mind all the time, but I think my big dream and maybe next trip is a month in Paris. I want to take some baking classes at Le Cordon Bleu and take a train around Italy for a bit and eat around both countries. It's something I've always talked about but haven't made it yet. Hopefully in the next year or so though!
