BRV Or CCV?

Yes there are quite a few differences some are below.

Location: CCV is in the WL building, BRV is in its own building about 5-10 min walk to the main building amenities at most.

Rooms: BRV rooms are a bit larger and generally sleep 1 more person in studios and 1 bedrooms. BRV did just get renovated so the rooms are a bit newer though CCV rooms are very nice still.

Views: CCV has almost a guarantee of a nice view (either pool). BRV can have a less than nice view possible, it’s predominately lake (a bit woodsy) or wood view (which really is the bus stop).

I’d honestly suggest looking at the Disney maps and the individual pages on DVCs website to get a better understanding of both.

As above, CCV is in the main building because it consists of regular WL hotel rooms converted to DVC. So the rooms are smaller than BRV, which was built from the ground up to be DVC.

At CCV, when booking a studio you can specify a studio that has a tub/shower or one that has a walk-in shower. The studios at BRV all have tub/showers.

Being a separate building, BRV has its own small lobby (although checkin, Bell Services, etc. are all in the main building) which is very charming and quiet. I'm pretty sure that one of Walt's train cars is still there, too.

It sounds like BRV is the way to go for us. A 1br. Now next question what do we request for rooms?

We stayed at BRV last August for the first time and absolutely loved it. We are also 1BD people and I wanted to mention that if a Murphy bed is important to you like it is to us, there are not Murphy beds in the 5th floor rooms due to the ceiling slope. May be something to consider for your room request.

I requested anything but the highest floor at BRV. The reason for this is because of the roof, the highest floor of BRV doesn't have the murphy beds installed.

If you want the queen size Murphy in the living room, that's what I'd request - "queen size Murphy bed in living room." There are reports that when requesting something like "not 5th floor" the room assigners seem to see the "5th floor" rather than the "not" and place the guest on the 5th floor!

Thanx the Murphy bed is unimportant, this trip is only my wife and I.

We have not stayed at CCV, but absolutely love BRV. Perhaps because it’s situated in a separate building and feels more private. The walk to the main building is covered and a relatively short stroll, as is the path to the bus stop. The smaller BRV lobby is charming with rocking chairs, fireplaces, and cozy spaces to chill out. We can head out the lobby’s back exit and the pool is right there; Geyser Point is not far away. I think you would enjoy staying there! :-)
