Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

Aww! Looks like Brooklynn had a wonderful birthday!! I love her gifts!! Those princess playsets where VERY popular in my house when DD was little younger! She and DS also always loved to play doctor! They alway loved giving us a shot! :lmao: My Little Pony is too cute! I actually has those when I was kid and loved them!

Glad you found time to drop in. I know you must be super busy. Have you adjusted to the sleep deprivation yet?

Things are a bit hectic around here but thankfully my husband was able to take a few days off to get us through the roughest times. The sleep deprivation is just past the point where I finally feel like I can function again - thank goodness! It should kick into a new level of exhaustion next week when I send Doug off to kindergarten in addition to being up at all hours with a newborn.

Jill I loved your thoughts about your growing little girl. You're right, moms understand how in the midst of all of the daily "stuff" you look at your child and are reminded of what an awesome privledge and responsibility we've been entrusted with. What a great mommy you are to your girls.:goodvibes

MeMomlove all the pictures as usual. I can feel all of your excitement at arriving at your home away from home. Yes, I think you're right. Bella definitely looks like she's saying, Ha,ha. Or maybe she's saying, Ahhh. I've arrived. Can't wait to hear more.

Sending prayers for your knee. It sounds as if surgery is the best answer.

Sneaking in a few more responses while my kids are at Art. I went to sleep yesterday afternoon and slept all through the evening and the night. Well, I roused up a few times in a feverish sweat, but for the most part I was sleeping. I feel somewhat better today, but if I could be home, I would be.

Looks like Brooklynn got some great goodies for her birthday!

Love the pictures of Pop...my memories came rushing back...what a wonderful feeling! :lovestruc

Jill- what wonderful thoughts of Brooklynn's first years. You made me cry!

MeMom-have a fun full day of school! I have a dr. appt. this morning to re-check my ankle then on to school to (hopefully) finish my room! Fingers crossed because the meetings start tomorrow!

I love to see other people's Pop pictures, too. I can so easily picture myself there. Many more will come during the report.

Hope the ankle is feeling better each day. I wish my knee was something that would repair with time.

Have fun at those meetings! ;)

Yeah, it has begun! I LOVED that picture of Bella lounging by the pool. What a life! Speaking of Bella.............. we got an adorable Chihuahua puppy for my DD who has been begging for one for 2 years now. Well, we let her name the dog. She thought about it forever, and then told us that she couldn't decide between Belle or Tinkerbell, so she would name her Bella. I couldn't help but snicker at that. But as sweet as she is, our Bella is nowhere near as cute as yours! :)

I may have asked you this before, but my short term memory loss is returning right now................. what's the difference between a preferred and standard room at POP (distance wise). I noticed you said you had a lake view in the 60's which is the same thing I have requested. It looks to me like there is no difference in distance between pref. and stand. b/c you have to come out of the same elevator area no matter which side you are on. Right? Or am I confused?:confused3 I just can't see by the map I have how the pref. rooms are any closer to the check in building for them to be like $20 a night more.

Yeah, I thought that picture of our sleeping Bella was pretty cute. :cutie:

The preferred rooms are going to be the ones that would be in an arc, of sorts, if you drew that arc out from the pool. We have never paid for a preferred room, and we've never had any trouble with what we feel is a short walk to the bus stops and Classic Hall. Granted, we've had rooms close in, and that was very nice for running down to refill a mug or get food, but even the furthest walk just doesn't seem like that big of a deal to us.

Ahhh, I am so excited to be staying at Pop again!! Thank you for the pictures. I love the 60's poster with The Sword in the Stone. Makes me want to stay in that section now!

Bella looks so adorable checking into Pop.

Have a wonderful first day with Students!

We were happy to be able to mark the 60's off our list. Wonder what we'll get in December? Maybe one day we will start on our list for the other side across the lake! :goodvibes

Hi MeMom and Jill! So excited to be aboard for another TR. I love how much Brooklynn loves Bella! There are so many other things that I wanted to comment on, but I haven't had the chance. Right now I'm at a loss!

But I do want to say thanks for sharing those pictures of your classroom, MeMom! It gives me the courage to be a little bolder in my plans for my classroom this September! I love penguins and Disney so I was more open with having penguins all over the room. My room door had my name and classes in Waltograph, but other than that, I was pretty low-key with Disney stuff. That'll change this year because I know if I have more, I'll be happy every morning when I step in the classroom!

I like how you had certain characters to designate certain areas or bulletin boards in the room. I already know that I want to have a small section of my wall dedicated to "Things that are Against the Law" (has to do with my name) or something of that sort. It'll be mistakes that the kids make in writing (ex. mixing up the your/you're or saying should of and not should have). Once I point them out, I'll put them on that section of the wall and the kids don't have an excuse to say that they didn't know! Haha, you know, because the hundreds of times I correct it on their paper doesn't mean anything. Anyway, with your classroom pictures, I'm going to think of what Disney character I can use to put there. Maybe Woody because he's a sheriff? Hmm ...

Thanks for the ideas! I really appreciate them! Looking forward to more of the TR and more pics of the lovely family. God bless!

Brookylnn does love her little sissy. She's so sweet with her. Bella sees her coming and just smiles. She also braces herself for face to face contact. Brooklynn gets right in her face when she's loving on her. I can't blame her. Bella is very smoochable!

Go ahead and sprinkle that Disney magic around your room. It does help!

I thnik Woody would be perfect for what you are doing!

Happy "late" Birthday to Brooklynn!

Hooray for the girls trip in October! :woohoo:
We will be arriving on the 21st-the day yall are leaving! :sad1:

Glad to hear you know what is wrong with your knee. Hopefully it won't give you too many problems between now and the surgery!

I'd be glad to stay the whole week, but Jill is having to take off work, so three days is all she felt good about asking for. I will probably have my little surgery maybe Friday of that week, if I get it scheduled. I should have it done sooner and just be healed and ready to go by October, though. I'll have to think about it.

More later. Gotta go earn my paycheck!

It was a Red Robin weekend - we took Abby there Friday after meeting her teachers (it is her favorite place, too). I had the Chef's Salad, DH had the Bacon Cheeseburger and Abby had a corndog and mac and cheese. She usually gets the cantaloupe:).

We all loved Abby's teachers and drop off today went really, really well. Yeah... prayers were answered!

So glad you got a diagnosis for your leg. Hopefully, you were able to rest it this weekend.

The start of the report is great. The girls look so adorable! Pop looks like so much fun. We have only stayed on-site once at CSR. We like to rent timeshares with our friends so we are all in the same unit, but I do miss on-site. Next time, we go on-site, I want to stay at Pop since seeing all your great pictures. It looks like so much fun!

Have a great first full-day of school!

Red Robin was a hoppin' place this weekend!

I'm glad Abby is enjoying school!

CSR is beautiful. Pop has its own happy, lively feel. CSR has a more calm and relaxed feeling, in my view anyway.

How exciting!!!

Looking forward to it!

Congratulations! We are getting there thursday the 22. Just missing you again!

Happy Birthday Brooklyn!!!

Everybody on the report needs to go at the same time!

:0) I would love to go a few days earlier but I teach until noon thursday. Then we will be hitting the road to POP!!! At least that is the plan for the moment.

MeMom, thanks for sharing Brooklyn's birthday dinner pictures. Jill, enjoy those days of My Little Pony, princess things and doctor kits. My oldest daughter just turned 13 the week before Brooklyn turned three, and now it's all about purses and clothes and i-tunes gift cards, etc. I miss those princess things. Your words brought tears to my eyes too. You think three years went by quickly, and I'm wondering how my little girl turned into a teenager all the sudden. Every year brings wonderful new things to enjoy with them though!

Bella looked adorable sitting up on the counter checking in at Pop. And sleeping on a pool chair too. What a lucky girl to be there so young. Mine were four and almost seven before we made it there. We've been back every summer but wish we could get those extra trips in that you do.

Can't wait for more pictures!

Jill played with ponies, too, so it's fun to see Brooklynn enjoying the same things.

We should be content with one a year, and when finances dictate that, then we will. We just get antsy after a few months, though, and we use our Disney logic (which is not at all logical), which tells us to go again. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BROOKLYNN... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU....
As usual I am late... but - I am glad that she got to enjoy so many birthday parties. I am still celebrating my birthday and it was last week...lol

Jill -- what you wrote about your baby girl was so precious. I cannot wait until I am a mommy..

Memom -- the pictures of your classroom are awesome.

You're in luck! There's another party Saturday for her school friends, so you're actually early for that one!

Brooklynn, I hope you had a great birthday yesterday.:cheer2: Have fun being 3!

Jill, your words are so true. It is an amazing and sobering thing to raise a child. What they become depends largely on how we parent them. And, they grow up WAY too fast. My baby will be 7 next month.

Memom, I am glad you saw a doctor and figured out what was wrong with your knee. I wish you had time to take care of it soon, but at least you are able to get some treatment for it. I hope the pain eases some.

Congratulations on your October trip. We are going Oct. 28 through Nov. 5 with my whole family. 2 grandparents, 4 parents, 6 grandchildren (5 girls and 1 boy).

The pain subsides when I am not walking, but it comes back when I walk. I was thinking today that I might go ahead and get it fixed before the October trip after all.

You'll be there at Halloween. Are you going to MNSSHP that night?

I hope your first full day with students went well. With a teacher being added to second grade have you finished changing students?

My first full day would have been good if I hadn't been so sick.

We don't have a new teacher yet. We got forty new second graders from another school, which is two classes full, but no new teachers. Imagine how that is for us!

I hope that you feel better soon.

A teeny bit better today. Not so much fever.

Hello MeMom and Gang! Just checking in real quick from our Condo in Destin.
We got here Saturday and leave Wednesday. The weather has been hit and miss as far as beach time goes, but we're having a great time. The rest of our gang is on the beach, I brought Ty up to take a nap.
I haven't had a chance to catch up yet on the trip report since we left. I going to go back and read it now. Just wanted to say HI! and show you a picture of Ty on the beach.

florida-mety015.jpg

Going back to catch up on your trip and how everything else is going with you.
Rhonda
Happy Birthday Brooklynn!

I know you guys had so much fun! That definitely reminds me of Jill sitting in her little boat.

Wishing you a healthy nap!

It was a long nap. About two and a half nights' worth of sleep for me!

Hi there! I have finally found a few minutes to check in with my friends on the DIS. I skimmed over the pages I have missed.

Love the Disney touches around the room! So many little things to make you smile and bring back wonderful memories!

My mom had surgery on her knee about 3 weeks ago for a torn meniscus and had very little knee pain within 72 hours. She found she needed a good ice wrap and Icy Hot for her recovery days.

So glad we are off the plane and on our way to the Happiest place on Earth!

Yay! You got to check in! I'm ready to see a picture of all three of your little sweeties. Are you getting used to having a girl yet?

I am so happy to hear about the quick recovery for your mom. I hope mine is every bit as quick!

Ok! I'm now caught up again! This new job is really getting into the way of my Dis time! Looks like you guys are off to a great start!

Happy belated birthday to Brooklyn!!:) I can't believe she's already three! Jill, you definately have beautiful girls!

MeMom - sorry to hear that you need surgery, but I'm sure you'll be back up and around in no time! I'll keep you in my prayers!

Don't ya just hate it when workd interferes with the important things?

I hope you feel better soon, MeMom!

I am coughing up my lungs, I believe, and it is annoying to and everyone around me. The fever is just about gone, I think, and I did just eat a little supper, so I'm on my way back to normal. :goodvibes

First of all, let me just wish little Miss Brooklyn a very Happy Birthday!:wizard: AND, she shares her birthday with my DH so it's and extra special day!!!
Your TR is off to a good start!
Sorry to hear about your knee MeMom. I hope that the medicine does the trick for you until you can have your surgery.
Welcome back to school MeMom! Our kids don't go back to school until next week, and boy are they(me) ready!!!

Did your hubby get nice presents, too? :)

We used to not start until Labor Day, but it has gotten earlier and earlier.

The good thing is, we get out early.
The bad thing is, I still have four more weeks of summer school when it over.

Looks like Brooklyn had a great birthday! Cayley's is in just 2 weeks.
Hope you are feeling better MeMom and your first week is going well.

Lots of little birthday girls! I know you guys will have much fun, too. What's she getting?

Yes I will!!!! :thumbsup2

We had a wonderful day :goodvibes...thanks!

BROOKLYNN!!!!!
:dumbo::donald::hmghost: I hope you had a WONDERFUL birthday!! :mickeyjum:tigger::sulley:
Sorry I'm a little late

Still another party Saturday, so you're fine!

Happy Belated Birthday Brooklynn! :cake:I hope your day was extra special. You are going have so much fun being 3! party:

Hope you are feeling better MeMom! My DD has already had a cold. She started with a sore throat within 2 weeks of school starting. I have noticed several people with the sniffles these past few days. I think we should all buy stock in Lysol for this upcoming fall.:thumbsup2

It looks like Brooklyn had a very nice birthday.:thumbsup2 Funny thing, my bday was Aug. 1 and I celebrated my bday at Red Robin, too. (It helped that my DS, DH and I all had free burgers for your bday - ours are 5 days apart) It was certainly an inexpensive bday celebration. :woohoo:They do make great burgers. My DS loves the one with the egg...it is called the Royal Burger (I think).

I am sorry to hear that you could be facing surgery on your knee.:flower3: Hopefully, it will be just what you need to help your leg.

As out trip (Oct) gets closer we will have to talk and hopefully, find a time that we can meet up. I will be looking so looking forward to it. :cool1:Were you able to add free dining to your trip?

I also want you to know that I started my TR back up (with a new title). :eek:I know it is old but we had several wonderful things happen that I really needed to share. The link is in my signature. Hope you can read it when you get a chance. I did go back in and add the first few installments from the original. I figured folks would be totally lost if I didn't.

best wishes for a great first full week of school. It is old hat to my kids now...we into the 3rd week.:scared1:

I think you are going to be in WDW right after we leave. I glance at your TR this morning. I'm glad you decided to finish, and I will be over there to comment soon.

I'm glad to hear Brooklynn enjoyed her birthday! We don't have any Red Robin's around here but they look like a cool place to eat some birthday grub :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear you need surgery, MeMom, but at least afterwards you should finally have some relief. Better for you to trek through WDW with!

What a great start to your trip! Of course Brooklynn didn't waste much time getting into the water, the little fish that she is. Bella looks like shes being so good. You can tell shes excited for her first WDW trip...and exhausted too haha Glad you got the decade of rooms you wanted, too. \:wizard:

I hope you're feeling better by the time you read this!

Brooklynn loves the water. She could stay in that kiddie pool for hours. It's nice, because it absolutely wears her out, and she takes a great nap

I got a shot in my knee from Doctor Brooklynn on Saturday, but then we just decided to take the doctor's scissors and cut it off!

Hopefully you can nap during the day. Does Doug have full or half-day kindergarten?

Jill I loved your thoughts about your growing little girl. You're right, moms understand how in the midst of all of the daily "stuff" you look at your child and are reminded of what an awesome privledge and responsibility we've been entrusted with. What a great mommy you are to your girls.:goodvibes

Sending prayers for your knee. It sounds as if surgery is the best answer.

I didn't realize Bella had such a 'holier than thou' look on her face until I looked at the picture to post it.

Yeah, I have about decided to go ahead and do it so I can enjoy the October trip a lot more.

:0) I would love to go a few days earlier but I teach until noon thursday. Then we will be hitting the road to POP!!! At least that is the plan for the moment.

We'll miss you, then. We will be coming home in the evening, but ME will pick us up midafternoon. Oh well, some of us coming and some of us going. I guess that's the way it's always going to be.

Continuing on - July 25th.
On the bus to Magic Kingdom.

Bella slept a lot. We wore the little thing out!

It was about time for the parade, so the girls got ready to watch.

Jill sat the concrete burned her behind during the parade. It was a very warm day!

My precious 3 year old is in her bed crashed for the night. She officially turned three at 6:49 this evening. We were eating at Subway after church with several friends and when the clock turned to 6:48 we all shouted "Happy Birthday." She fell asleep on the way home since she didn't get a nap today. I just took her straight out of her carseat and put her in the bed. I just sat there for a moment and watched her sleeping. All you mommies out there know and understand that feeling of awesomeness as you reminisce about where your child has been and where they are now. I think back to all those firsts Brooklynn and I went through together - our first night at home with all the excitement of things to come, our 6 weeks of hanging out on the Disboards together, first food, holidays, teeth, crawling, walking, that first Disney trip and the many that have followed. As I sat on Brooklynn's bed tonight and watched her sleep I thanked God that He had blessed me with that precious little girl. It is an awesome responsibility to know that I have been entrusted with that precious little life. I can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Jill, I love this, well said...in day to day ways of life, it's so hard to always remember to stop and think about these things...and how fast our children are growing!! As my 1st is about to enter 1st grade, I try and remind myself to enjoy these last couple of weeks of Summer.....these are the days we'll remember...me being home with my boys, for every minute, of every day....even though this (by far!) is the hardest job I've ever done...I wouldn't trade it for the world!!!!:cloud9:

Hug those babies extra tight tonight Mommies!!!

I hope you get to feeling well soon. The first day with a over crowded class is hard enough when you are full spend. Hopefully the new teachers will arrive before the students get too attached to the teacher they have now.

The parade pictures were wonderful.

MeMom, I hope you feel better soon!! I'm praying for you!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Loving all the udpates!!! And the pics....the girls are too cute for words!!!:cutie:

I have to interject a humorous story about this parade. Brooklynn loves to talk about the Crocodile and Captain Hook. Before the trip she said she didn't want to see "that old mean Captain Hook." I told her to remember that if she did she could just pretend like she was the crocodile and say "tick tock tick tock" and he would leave her alone. Well when he came out in the parade she started muttering under her breath "tick tock tick tock." It was adorable because her eyes never left the parade and what was going on.

We should be content with one a year, and when finances dictate that, then we will. We just get antsy after a few months, though, and we use our Disney logic (which is not at all logical), which tells us to go again. :)

Isn't Disney logic the best kind? :)

Great parade pictures! Loved the picture of sleeping Bella...so cute!

Sat thru the first meeting today....

MeMom, I also want to wish you Get Well Wishes!!!!!!!

Love the pictures of the parade...how much fun does that look like!! I hope I'm able to catch it this fall!!

WOW You guys got to spend my birthday in WDW celebrating. I guess I will spend my trip in Oct as an "unbirthday" celebration to make up for it!:banana:

As everyone has said, watching our children grow up in family vacation moments as well as the everyday moments brings back so many memories.

I remember the first time we took the kids and all the fun times. Its hard to believe I had one start college yesterday! High school for the younger one starts next week. For everyone with little ones.... it goes fast, enjoy all you can.
