I've tried to search and couldnt find a definitive answer but I am wondering, if i packed wine into my checked luggage - is this OK? First time staying on Disney property so I wasnt sure if they check your bags or what have you for this. just looking to have some drinks in the resort at the end of the night instead of paying $10/glass LOL

Yea they probably don't have a stance on this. It would be pretty much be impossible to enforce a ban. I think you'll be ok, I've ordered beer and wine to my room via Whole Foods and never had an issue.

I bring a bottle or two with me every time and have no problems, I even bring a couple of plastic wine glasses cause I don't like using room glasses. I wash them and leave them out on the dresser. Don't forget the bottle opener.

Well, first I would NOT put it in checked luggage, its roughly handled like as all hotels and if it breaks you will have a mess.

2ND. Yes you can, I have carried in couple of bottle of wine or beer, usually in our carry on and in plain view..its not a problem.

I believe you would have to check it because of the liquids limits. But yea there is probably a good chance the bottles wouldn't make it. You're better off ordering something when you get down there.

There is plenty of wine to be bought in bottles at Disney. A huge selection in all of the countries in Epcot, and at the resorts in the quick service areas. There is, of course, an upcharge over what you pay at home for the same bottles, but not an outrageous upcharge like what you'd pay for a bottle in a restaurant. You could also get wine through Garden Grocer, We Go Shop or another grocery delivery service.

that is the only way i would be able to get it down there is in checked luggage. Southwest does not allow liquids on carry-on over 100mL. my best bet will be checked luggage in a protective case, or as Cold71 suggest just having it delivered which isnt a bad idea!

thanks everyone for the help!!! :dog2:

From your past experience, what is the cost associated for delivery to the park (aside from the obvious cost of wine?)

We stay at BWV and have gotten nice bottles of wine and sparkling wine there and at the Yacht/Beach Club shops for pretty reasonable prices. The Once Upon a Vine label is good and runs about $15 a bottle. Last time, we got a bottle of the sparkling wine and it even came with a cute ceramic frog prince bottle stopper! Don't risk having bottles burst in your checked baggage, unless it's something you really want and don't think you'll be able to find at Disney and you really wrap the heck out of it in bubble wrap.

Where abouts is the Once Upon a Vine sold in Disney?

We drive to Disney and bring alcohol - beer and wine - for the rooms. In terms of packing in checked luggage, I would suggest doing a Bota Box - it is a decent boxed wine, and you wouldn't have to worry about a bottle breaking in your luggage.

Hello Cold71

If you are talking about liquid limits on a Plane I would agree. I never bothered bringing bottle on a plane.

Other wise we always stop and get some groceries and never had a problem with any amounts on alcohol bringing them into a Disney Resort. Of course the most I can remember bringing in (4 adults) was a case of beer and 4 or 5 bottles of wine for a 9 days stay.

You can absolutely bring your own beer, wine and liquor into the resorts. As mentioned above, the only restriction is bringing glass anything to the pool.

We have packed liquor bottles on other vacations - they were well cushioned to prevent breakage and wrapped with lots of plastic just in case it did break. Which it did not. There are products available to help protect the bottles and the rest of your suitcase (and other people's suitcases). Another option would be those plastic rubber maid shoe boxes in an appropriate size. We use one for toiletries so pressure is placed on the box and not the bottles of liquid.

Have a great trip!!

ive already bought one of those padded cylinders -- we'll give that a whirl. if a bottle of Prosecco cant fit, at least I can bring a bottle of wine most definitely. I wasnt sure if a Disney Resort was like bringing wine onto a cruise ship where they take it from you right away and then charge you a corking fee.

Great advise/tips from everyone - thanks again.

Nope. Just like any hotel. They even sell wines in the gift shops in the lobbies

If you are going during F&W there are some different wines to be had at the festival center, not cheap but some of them are pretty decent. Italy, Germany and France all have wine shops (and tastings all year in case you aren't there during F&W, just saying). Over at AKL they have some pretty good African wines at decent prices. All the resorts have wine in their gift shops but you have to be careful, I've bought some that almost killed me.

Honestly it's hard to say because I ordered a good bit of food as well. I remember the prices being pretty fair though. I believe we ordered four 6 packs, couple bottles of wine along with our food and I'm pretty sure we spent at or around $100.
