Bring back the good o' days, Things ..........

The plastic charm necklaces! I had a pink one...and some "charms" for it. I loved that silly thing. And Jellies shoes...they made your feet so nasty and sweaty.QUOTE]

I had the plastic charm necklaces too! I actually wore my jellie shoes to WDW....oh! the blisters!!!!!! I actually saw some the other day in the Target dollar spot.

Anyone else beg their moms for the Reebok high tops that came in all the colors of the rainbow? I ended up with a pair of red ones.

They still make those candy bars??? OMG!!! Where can I get them..I am a diabetic, but one won't kill me every once in a while.

!

Do a search for Curly Wurly bars. I have some in the store, but shipping would make them melt.
If you wait till fall, I could send you one!

I remember the exact place I was when they announced the Shuttle blew up. 10th grade, in English class.

I barely remember when Reagan got shot. I just remember my mom shushing me as she was glued to the tv.

I remember when we got a microwave for the first time! And cable! LOL

Reading the VC Andrews books. Creeeeepy:scared1:

Seeing John Cougars "Hurt so good" video for the first time and felt sick afterwards because I thought I saw something "dirty".

Red Dawn...ohh.. I loved Patrick Swayze.

And writing fan mail to "Albert" on Little house of the Prairie and saying I hated Nancy (the little Nellie--jumping the shark) because she treated him so bad on the show! LOL
Of course, he never wrote back. I was probably stalker listed.:rotfl:

Do you remember the movie "When A Stranger Calls"?

Scared the daylights outta me, as I was perfect babysitting age.

Have you checked the children?

Samantha

Sounds like we're about the same age. I soooo loved VC Andrews' books but was really upset when she passed away as they were never the same again.

I don't know if anyone wrote this yet, but remember when gas used to cost less than $1.00 a gallon?? 15 bucks would fill the tank!!! :lmao:

Hey! What about Members Only jackets? I had my dad drive around town until we found one store with that jacket. Of course the only color left was an ugly blue but I HAD TO HAVE IT!
Also, when HBO first came out it only played 4 or 5 movies over and over. I can only remember Sixteen Candles, Spaceballs, and Porky's (at night of course). Even after watching Sixtenn Candles everyday, I would rent the movie too!! The Brat Pack movies rule!! :cheer2:

I can't believe I got a tag from the Tag Fairy from posting a message here. Then I came back and noticed alot of you got tags too!

Oh, let me answer(and I can only hope I am right). Click Clacks were two hard plastic balls, about the size of pool balls. They were suspended from a metal ring on two strings and the goal was to grasp the ring and move your arm in such a fashion that the balls clicked together below the ring and then had enough momentum to clack together above the ring. You tried to get them clicking and clacking longer than anyone else without stopping. And if I'm wrong I'll only be embarrassed for a day or two. :rotfl:

Puny weaklings......My click-clacks (aka clackers) were made of GLASS!!! Every once in awhile, you'd clack them with too much enthusiasm and a glass chip would go flying. Now that's nostalgia.:scared1:

some more I thought of........
Eight tracks
"where's the beef"
Sticker Albums
garbage pail kids
Charles and Diana's Wedding
American Bandstand
comic books (little lu lu, richie rich, archie, casper and wendy, etc.)
Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids
The Waltons
bozo the clown

gosh I can go on and on............

Oh and who on here wore Jam shorts???? I had the knock off flea market ones, but I had them in all kinds of crazy colors!!

They have those on ebay too...:rotfl2: Just in case anyone wants a pair..lol

Red Dawn...ohh.. I loved Patrick Swayze.

My husband and I were having an argument over this movie just the other day-- maybe you can help-- I remember the brothers( swayze and bro) dying at the end( sitting on a bench) my husband swears they lived thru the wars.

Who is right????

I miss standing like the statue of Liberty holding the end of the TV antenna with the hanger sticking out while the family would say ok a little to the left no the other way ok higher ahhhh shoot we lost the picture again!

Then we got a tv that had a remote that actually made the dial go around in a circle!

I also miss when we would all go Christmas Caroling aournd the neighborhoods.

:rotfl2: those were the good ole days. when my husband and I talk about stuff like this, our kids (20 and 16) both look at us like we have 2 heads  yes we're antique ;)

Oh I had jams and those pants that look like tights with Jam prints with a long shirt or sweater and my socks tucked into the pants:scared:

Its a miracle I survived the 80's and landed a husband

I love this show. I did not watch it when it was on either. Seems like not very many people did :guilty: . Kinda like "My So Called Life". I think those are two of the best shows ever. I think they both came out at the wrong time- when their main target audience was in college, not watching TV.

The reason this series did not do well in the ratings was because the network kept changing the night and time slot that it was aired each week. The show's fans couldn't keep up with the constant changes and so the show did not have a huge audience base. The true fans though loved it and I can see why! After DH and I watched the last episode, we were both really bummed that that was the end! This group was so similar to friends that we had, and I could totally relate to Lindsey and her struggles. I was her exact age in 1980 which was when the series took place. I even remember the day that Led Zepplin's drummer Jon Bonham died. I had a drummer friend named Bones who acted just like Nick -- he was in total shock.

What I miss most....

Playing Ghost in the graveyard

Ray Rayner in the mornings on channel 9

Penny candy :scared1: (did I just say that?)

The "Munsters"

Record players

"skip it"

Good ole days of the 60's and 70's....
