Bring back the good o' days, Things ..........

I was reading your post about Dancing programs and the name DANNY TERRIO pooped into my head---Who the heck is Danny Terrio--- Can some one help me with this senior moment-- Did he have a dance show???????????

Dance Fever!!! I think it was a competition, and Danny (or was it Denny) Terrio was the host...

I also wore those Chinese shoes....they were so flat! LOL

Also, khaki Dickie's and painter pants, India shirts, moccasins (mostly worn by the "heads" (short for pot heads I think!) in school), plaid shirts with ribbon ties at the collar, baseball shirts (white shirts with colored sleeves....I had several colors...), t-shirts with decals on them. We had kiosks in the mall where you could get them made. I had one that said "One wild and crazy Gal"...LOL:lmao:

Anyone remember when Nike's became really popular? I was in 6th grade (hmmm...1979 I think). My parents wouldn't buy them for me. I wanted the white leather ones with the red swoosh. They were so cool!! And EVERYONE had them. I was so deprived!:sad2:

 YES!! I was in 7th grade when I got a grape purple pair of canvas Nikes. I was living on the edge with those purple shoes and had to build up lots of courage to wear them to school because colored tennis shoes were still really new.

What cracks me up...it that in the "Good Ol' Days" of 21 JUMPSTREET, I had a bunch of Johnny Depp posters on my walls.... Nowadays, 20 years later, my little 12 year old cousins have Johnny Depp posters on THEIR walls. Now THATS a sex symbol..... :thumbsup2

I had twist a bead necklaces...and anyone have charm necklaces (looked like a plastic chain and you could buy all the pastic charms to hang on them)...I had a TON of those things.

Also Kangaroo tennis shoes with the little zipper pocket on the side (I used to put my ice cream money in the pocket) they tried to make a comeback a few years ago.

 Johnny Depp

yo ho (yum) a pirates life for me!

The plastic charm necklaces! I had a pink one...and some "charms" for it. I loved that silly thing. And Jellies shoes...they made your feet so nasty and sweaty.

My very first concert was New Kids on the Block at our state fair. I can tell you exactly what I wore...cut off jean shorts, rolled up (as in Baby in Dirty Dancing), white keds, no socks, side ponytail with a pink ribbon to match the pink and white striped tank top. I was such a NKOTB nerd. LOL An entire wall was covered in posters, I had every tape and listened to them every day. I was totally jealous of my friend that saw their stadium tour and even got the black satin jacket at the tour. She was spoiled. LOL And let's not forget my favorite show of all time....Beverly Hills 90210. I even had a t-shirt with Dylan and Brandon on it!!

Don't you mean "the name Danny Terrio POPPED into your head" ? The visual of him "pooping" into your head is too much!!:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

(Sorry, I always see the typos and this one was too much !!!)

I had a pair of Kangaroos. They were burgundy...so ugly, but I loved them. Later I had one of those little pockets that velcroed to my shoelaces for my bike ride to Swensen's for ice cream.

I'm soo glad someone else mentioned 90210. I'm not even gonna mention how in love I was with Brandon and Dillon. I really think that I know every episode of 90210 by heart.:goodvibes

HAHAHA I know I do! :) It's on soapnet every day at 3pm and 4pm. :) Last year when they started over, I taped every episode and watched them that night. I saw from the very first to the very last within months. :cool1: It was wonderful. The oldest ones are funny because they are sooooo cheesy sometimes. I'm not as dedicated as I was last summer though. I only watch them sometimes now. My mom and I watched the very first episode back in teh day and I watched every one, every week up until the last one. I would set the VCR if I wasn't home and we all know that setting the VCR took a rocket science degree! LMAO

Johnny Depp sexy transcends all generations!!!!

Yea, he IS that HOT!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Speaking of Dillons, I was totally in love with Matt Dillon when I was a teenager! I remember the first movie I saw him in was called "Over the Edge." I was 15 when it came out. When I saw him I knew he'd end up being famous! He's still hot.

If you were a teenager in the late 70s and early 80s, did you ever see a TV series called, "Freaks and Geeks?" It only ran for one or two seasons, but was THE BEST show! I never watched it when it aired back in the late 90's, but DH ordered the DVD on NetFlix and we watched every episode. They totally reminded me of what high school was like when I was 14 - 17 years old. If you haven't seen these shows, they are an absolute must! Check it out:

anyone remember the Chineese shoes craze????

they were black flats with a strap--sometimes embroidered== I lived in mine.

Yes, they were great! I just saw them at Urban Outfitters and they're still very inexpensive.

I LOVE RHPS!!! I've been to see it a few Saturdays...and now if I watch it at home I catch myself saying the audience participation lines with it! "At the late night (early morning) double feature (rocky horror) picture show..."

Getting up and doing the Time Warp...yay for the Time Warp

Rocky Horror...a part of our weird...weird..very weird....culture!

Let RHPS live on! lol

I had never seen RHPS until a couple years ago. I'm the right age and all, I just never got into it. We were on a cruise with a bunch of friends and they were showing it at midnight, so we all went, there were about 100 of us. I'm embarrassed to say that I got caught and they put me up at the end for the virgin auction. (:rotfl2: that boat had long since sailed, kids...)

It was fun, though!

I THINK TICKLE AND LAVA ARE RIGHT. THE RED SOAP WAS IN THE CHRISTMAS STORY TOO, RALPHIE HAD TO HOLD IT IN HIS MOUTH...........

Lifebuoy was the soap from A Christmas Story. Ralphie said that Lifebuoy was better than Lava to have your mouth washed out with, it had a "smoother bouquet". :rotfl2:

We LOVE:love: Freaks and Geeks...we bought it on DVD and watch it over and over. We were so bummed when it was cancelled. It so could have went on. My kids love it too. They think it is so funny that my husband and I can totally relate to the characters. Thanks for the memories:woohoo:

I love this show. I did not watch it when it was on either. Seems like not very many people did :guilty: . Kinda like "My So Called Life". I think those are two of the best shows ever. I think they both came out at the wrong time- when their main target audience was in college, not watching TV.

OMG I am enjoying this thread so much:rotfl:
