Do they offer the Bridge Tour on the Magic? The last time we sailed (11/01) we were told this tour was discontinued due to security concerns.

But, I see someone posting about this tour on the Wonder?

Any recent Magic returnees remember seeing this on the Navigators?

Thanks.

Yes, the bridge tours have been reinstated on both ships. :)

It only takes place while the ship is in port & not moving, for safety reasons. ;)

My DH & DS 9 went to it late in the afternoon while we were in St. Maarten as we had no excursions, etc. at that time & "us girls" (me & 2 DD's) just stayed at Havensight and did some shopping. DH really enjoyed it, learned a lot of interesting things, and says he would recommend it to others. DS was a trifle bored, but then he's more of an action kind of a kid! :p You do need to sign up in advance for it & get your tickets as they limit the numbers of people going at one time.

Question: Do they allow videocameras (or still cameras, for that matter) on the bridge during the tour??

Thanks...

When/where do you sign up? Is that yet another line in the initial "reservations scramble?"

I was allowed to take photos during my pre-9/11 bridge tour. I have two of those photos up on my web site...

According to the notice in a recent Navigator, the only restrictions are "Please no food, drink or smoking permitted."

According to a notice in a recent Navigator, you can sign up at Guest Services 24 hours a day, or at the Shore Excursion Desk during their operating hours.

no, you do not need to "scramble" for this ressie. We didn't know about the tour until we saw it in the Navigator on the 2nd day of our cruise and had no problems at all getting ressies. There were many times available to choose from. Yes, Dave is correct (as I believe he always is on these boards!! :) ) ---I just went to guest services & obtained the tickets.

We recently did the bridge tour on the Magic and were emphatically told no pictures or videotaping allowed. One of the people that toured the same time argued about it but they would not bend on this rule. Kim

thanks Kim, I would imagine since 9/11, they would not allow pictures to be taken. I completely understand, why give any terrorist a floorplan to kill.. maybe that person was not aware of 9/11 (if that is even possible)

Don't you think that is ridiculous? If I want to shoot pics of the bridge I'd just go into the gym when it's quiet there and shoot as many as I want - from a perfect angle granting a great overview. Additionally the ship is shown in so many books that any bad guy can anything so easily.

In our 5 cruises we've never had a bridge tour. This is something I would definately like to do. Have to put in on my list of things for the Dec. 2004 cruise. :)
