Breeder's Cup 2009

Absolutely. That gate worker did a fantastic job. Looking at the video, he almost didn't catch him... thank goodness he did. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGfrr8CFuIw
At about 3:10, when the horse was galloping in a small circle, it almost looked like he was holding up a rear foot. When I was watching it live, I really did think he kicked the gate and broke something.

Oof. There is a horse who needs to go back to square one in his training. That kind of behavior at the gate should never be tolerated. They said this isn't unusual for him. Poor training IMO. Endangered his jockey, the gate workers, the horse, and all the other horses in the starting gate.

Props to the gate workers - esp. the one who hung on after he went through - saved him from serious injury or worse. Agree about the training. OK for horse to be skittish - but those mule kicks are a dead giveaway...he's gotten away with it before and now it's his ticket out. Lots of training likely needed to get him behaving again.

I once got within a few feet of Cigar. That's my claim to fame.

I was at Arlington the day Cigar tied the record with 16 wins. It was AMAZING! The crowd was insane and it was so much fun!

I love Zenyetta and would love to see a match race with her and Rachel Alexandra, that would be something!
