Possession of that photo is enough to put their son on a sex offender registry for the rest of his life, so if they know about it, they probably consider your daughter to be the worst kind of bad news, and there is probably nothing that you could say that could make them consider her otherwise.

It would be a problem for both of them if that picture gets out. Teens have been prosecuted for possession of child pornography for sending pictures of themselves if they are underage. It is just stupid to do and shows a lack of forethought by both parties.

Very true, but unfortunately there still exists a bit of a double-standard in cases like this. In cases where someone gets prosecuted in such a situation, it is sometimes still the case that a male will be prosecuted but the female will not; she will still be considered the victim, even if it was her idea to create the photo and she did it without any help from anyone else. Men are more often presumed to be predatory even when the circumstances indicate that might not be the case.

In the OP's situation, it probably isn't so much of question of what actually could happen, as what the existence of the thing means in terms of how the other parents will react. Any time you have one person sending lewd messages to the other, there will be judgements about the sender's character. When criminal charges are even a distant possibility, the judgments are nastier.
