Breaking News - Paris Hilton to JAIL!

I don't think that there is a question. She needs to go to jail. She broke the law. I hope she learns from it. I just don't understand the rampant dislike for her. I don't think she is unlikable.

I think often people automatically judge and dislike people who have what the judger subconsciously wishes they could have. Wealth, beauty, fame, athletic ability, a green thumb, a great marriage, artistic ability, a natural sense of humour and timing--not just material things. Jealousy is a very ugly emotion, whether it's conscious or subconscious.

I think ALL of us are guilty of it at some point in time or another, whether we vocalize our feelings or not.

I think every single one of us can think of something someone has said to us about another person at some point where we wondered "Where the heck did that come from?" and the only rational answer to our inner question was that it was driven by jealousy.

It's not like Paris can't afford to have someone drive her wherever she wants to go- she was totally ignoring the law and doing what she darn well pleased. That's probably part of what ticked the Judge off so bad. Maybe this will be good for her and wake her up.

I'm waiting for her to say, "Orange is the new Pink" :lmao:

I agree. Jealousy is such a strong emotion, and I know that in the past I've experienced this emotion as well as envy. It's hard to look in the mirror and acknowledge these feelings but it is the only way to learn to deal with them, and be able to move on in life.

I don't know Paris Hilton personally, so I don't have a like or dislike for her. In my life she creates a zero gain or loss. I'm just amazed by the visceral reaction that some people have towards her.

As stated earlier, I do think she should do the jail time. She violated her parole and in the eyes of the law she should be held accountable and treated just as the rest of us would be if we violated parole.

She violated the terms of her parole and further has not yet enrolled in the alcohol treatment program she was obliged to attend also as part of her parole. Surely she must expect repercussions as a result.

I don't know the woman and I'm neither up nor down re her wealth and family, however I do know that I had the misfortune to turn onto a channel that was showing her and another girl working on a farm. The farmer had dairy cows and sold the milk. It was a small operation from what I remember and the two girls were asked to fill the milk bottles and then crate them. They treated it as a joke and wasted the milk by sloshing it all about the place then got water from somewhere and sloshed it in the bottles too to make up the correct volume. I'm sorry, but this was the guy's livelihood here. You may be able to pay to compensate for your waste but a) his customers would have been let down that day and b) his reputation may have been damaged (on the other hand I accept he may have gained some sort of status for being on the programme). I further accept that sometimes they only show what grabs the viewers' attention, but it happened and they showed no remorse.

I should like to think that this will be a wake-up call to Paris Hilton and that she will come out of jail with a new outlook on life and other people's lives. Maybe now she will see life without the rose tinted ( oversized and wraparound) glasses.

Just heard on the news "Do you think Paris Hilton got much sleep last night?? PROBABLY NOT!!" :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl:

It sure didn't help that she arrived late to court and left the judge waiting ten minutes for her to appear. Can you say STUPID???!!! :crazy2:

I was thinking that myself--I dont' think the judge was all too pleased with that, it certainly didn't earn her any brownie points with him.

The message here: Nobody is above the law!

From the reports, she got a fair sentencing after complete disregard from the courts previous orders.

The only reason I feel sorry for her is that I think her mother did her a disservice.

I for one am glad, I don't have anything against her, I just am tired of celebrities thinking they are above the law. I don't agree with her mother that they are making an example out of her, I think any regular joe would have gotten the same or worse for the violations she has.

I wonder if she will have a private cell, with plush carpet and a feather bed on her bunk.

Sorry, but when I try to picture people like her in jail, I tend to think they don't have the same accomidations as you or I would.

So laws aren't just for little people? I was amazed.

I'm sure she'll come up with a way to cash in on this.

Last I checked, county jails don't have plush carpets and feather beds. Once again, she was denied the ability to pay to choose her jail. They are sending her to COUNTY JAIL. Which means she's going there with all the miscreants of society, not a bunch of ex-CEO's.

45 days for violating probation relating to drunk driving!

She reports to jail June 5th - man, this will really screw up her summer!

How will she manage without the dog in her purse?

You do the crime, you serve the time.

Every thing I've ever read about this girls indicates she is a very nice, friendly girl. I don't know her so I can't comment on that though.

Yeah, she's rich and spoiled but that doesn't mean she isn't a nice person.

I only know of one private dirty movie that was released without her concent.

I don't think she's had too many boyfriends. :confused3

There are MANY of them.

I think it´s rediculous unless everyone else is given the same sentence for this type of offense. Some say: "Great. At least she isn´t let off the hook just because she´s famous." I´m pretty sure she was sentenced to jail BECAUSE she is young, famous and rich.

People keep saying she seems so sweet and nice. Yuck. There was a video on D Listed of Paris Hilton making fun of black people, Jewish people, poor people, etc. To her it seems, the worst thing anyone can possibly be is poor. God forbid they don't live off of their family's inheritance like she does. She can come off as sweet all she wants but she has repeatedly shown her true colors. Of course, it never gets the press like her getting out of a car with no underwear does. I guess it's just not as interesting  Paris Hilton is trash and I'm glad a judge is finally not letting her off the hook just because she comes from a rich family.

Oh come now, you know you are just jealous........ ;)
