Breaking News - Paris Hilton to JAIL!

I agree with you. I think her boyfriend totally took advantage of a bad situation. I think she worked hard to overcome it. Sometimes I think that while the "rich and famous" get a lot of breaks, often the "rich and famous" get just the opposite because someone wants to make an example out of them. That can be just as unfair.

Boo hoo, poor baby. I have no sympathy for someone who acts as though they are above the laws that the rest of us poor slobs are expected to abide by. Life ain't fair, and it's about time that little princess realizes it. Reality check, sweetheart.:thumbsup2

Life isn't fair but the courts should be fair and justice should be meted out equally for everyone. She shouldn't get away with criminal activity because she is rich and famous. Conversely, she shouldn't be punished beyond the punishment that anyone else would get because she is rich and famous.

She was completely thumbing her nose at the system. She didn't make a mistake and learn a lesson. I just can't have sympathy for a spoiled brat who so arrogantly takes a second and third chance for granted.

Then she gets what someone else who behaved the same way gets, not something more. I am fine with that. She gets the sentence because she broke the law, not because she is a "spoiled rich brat".

She's a spoiled rich brat who broke the law, so it's a win/win that she's going to jail. She's not the first one to go to jail over such an offense and she won't be the last. Too bad about the rest that fall between the cracks. Justice has been served with this sentence in my opinion.

She broke the law, she is getting what she deserves. Why is there any question? :confused3 I happen to think I'm a great person, but if I would have violated probation when I had a DUI (and I did have a DUI, years ago) I would have deserved to be sentenced for it too.

I had read that she can choose the prison if she pays for it. Is this true?

How long before the supermarket tabloids have stories about a female inmate making Paris her lover. Probably about two weeks after she goes to jail.

I don't think that there is a question. She needs to go to jail. She broke the law. I hope she learns from it. I just don't understand the rampant dislike for her. I don't think she is unlikable.

Well some people don't understand the rampant dislike for Rosie and think she is likeable.:confused3

I guess she couldn't flirt her way out of that one!

:rotfl2:

About that laugh. Some people laugh when they are nervous so that might explain the mother's laughing.

As for Paris, remember we ran into her last summer?? We were at the same intersection and she was driving a fabulously wealthy car. She was very polite and courteous as she drove through and gave us a little wave. She seemed nice!

But, as they say, "You do the crime, You do the time."

For those people that are saying "I doubt she'll serve any more than 2 weeks and she's going to some white collar prison", you are dead wrong.

The judge came down hard on her. He will not allow her to do work release, will NOT allow her to pay money to choose her jail (he said she HAS TO serve the time in the Lynwood Jail), and there are no and's, if's, or but's.

Since she is going to a normal county jail, unless she wants to spend time mixing with the general population, she's going to have to be put into solitary confinement for her own protection. Which means she'll spend all day basically staring at the walls alone.

She is NOT going to some fancy little white collar prison, she is going to a regular jail, with regular criminals. It is not going to be fun or easy for her, that is for sure.

Do the crime, do the time. And please, "I didn't know I was driving on a suspended license"??? You might have chosen to ignore the fact that it was suspended, but you sure knew it was, and if you truly didn't, I would fire each and every lawyer you have.

Her lawyer is appealing. :sad2: He said the sentence is much too harsh & she was made an example of as she's a celebrity.

Did anyone see the footage of her walking from the SUV to the courthouse? She was prancing, like she was walking on a fashion show catwalk. I wasn't sure if that was her natural walk.

She walked into the party like she was walking onto a yacht... :rolleyes1

Well, she wasn't prancing when she came out! She really thought she was going to get off when she walked in.

You do the crime, you serve the time.

Every thing I've ever read about this girls indicates she is a very nice, friendly girl. I don't know her so I can't comment on that though.

Yeah, she's rich and spoiled but that doesn't mean she isn't a nice person.

I only know of one private dirty movie that was released without her concent.

I don't think she's had too many boyfriends. :confused3

I can't believe it was a FOX NEWS ALERT.

You can't? ;)

I'll be shocked if you tell me that Greta didn't have the CEO of Moet & Chandon direct via satellite from France telling us of the intoxicating powers of his product, an auto worker direct via satellite from the Aston Martin plant in England about the DB7's handling abilities when being driven in a swerving, pavement mounting fashion, and a policeman direct via satellite from a place not related to the incident in any way, but who has in the past written out DWI tickets and talks us through the process, even though it is of no real interest to us.

Oh, and someone from Aruba.

I saw that Today.

Perhaps they should give her second thoughts about being an Heiress?
