The snow is headed to the Northeast.....and here in RI that means everyone runs out to buy bread and milk.
(personally I think toilet paper would be helpful too!)

What do you make sure you have when bad weather is expected?

DH works doing deliveries to grocery stores (in your neck of the woods Gail)and a million years ago, I worked for Purity Supreme. The nimrods on TV would mention the S N O W, and BAM! Like someone flipped a switch, every is compelled to buy (white)bread, Milk, and catfood (always catfood, not ever dog food, not sure why? ).

I have a couple of errands to run tonight after work, so I will be in the throngs, getting milk, bread (we are out of both actually), gassing up the vehicle, and fresh batteries for the flashlights.

Batten down the hatches New Englanders! Here we gooooooo!

Gas for the generator, of course Chocolate! ;)

I'm never one of those people that need to do that except for today . . .:o

It's not like I didn't go grocery shopping on Tuesday . . .but it dawned on me today that DH will be plowing all weekend for his work and I'll be stuck in with the kids and I got an extra loaf of bread, milk, tortellinis and some Little Debbie cakes . . .

Most people were buying the same . . .although I did see some guy buying shrimp and cocktail sauce . . .mmmmmmmmmmmm

Darn....that's a great idea but DH has already done the milk run.

Debbie, if you DH ever gets snowbound in my neighborhood he's more than welcome to drop off some goodies. We'll take good care of him!

I thought the rule was to buy bread, eggs, and milk, just in case everyone gets a sudden craving for French toast.

Usually milk , bread , cold cuts and I always have candles, bottled water, batteries , fireplace logs and gas for my snowblower. We sometimes lose power with these storms.

We don't usually buy anything unless we're out of it, but I do that any time. We're not usually inconvenienced for very long with snow storms, so we don't panic.

same here.

The joke here was always milk, bread, toilet paper, and kitty litter. I always tell DH to get kitty litter and we have never had a cat.

pet food(1 dog,4 cats and 1 rabbit),caffine of all forms;),gas for the college branch and cat litter

I had to be trained in this phenomenon when I started living here in Georgia. I was SHOCKED! Since snow in NY was just an "inconvenience" we just had to trudge through it no matter what, I learned real quick to have all the things I need in my house after a horrible 4 days stuck in my house with NOTHING!

My sister has always said that in an emergency, she'd want to be hold up at my house. I have about a 6 month supply of food. That's primarily because I buy in bulk and when things are on sale. I never have to worry about fighting the lines when there is a storm coming. Even if I'm running low on milk, we can live without it for a day or two.

I've never stocked up before a storm. My parents never did it. I don't know why. I guess living in Massachusetts makes you hardy stock.
