Brazilian Tour Groups

Are CMs posted at FP machines? Perhaps an easy solution would be To have a rule that no individual may retrieve more than 10 fastpasses at a time without returning to the end ofmthe FP line. If your party is larger than ten, that would require two members of yoru party to stand in line. Most people would be unaffected. But that way tour group leaders (of any nationality) could not monopolize the machine for such large numbers of people.

It's surprising to me that everyone says "go the other way". Or rather shocking.... Why doesn't Disney address this?!

Was posted before, Economics..., Shame that the buck is bigger than the magic. I would love to see Disney address this perhaps everyone should email Disney.

I suppose I'll be adding a Portuguese phrasebook to the packing list for my January trip.

There is nothing more valuable than being able to translate "Shut up and get out of the way" into the language of whoever you're talking to.

$$$$$$$ Or Economics as a PP stated. These BTGs represent a big chunk of cash to Disney. They don't want to risk losing their business by imposing restrictions on their movements or actions. Although the likelihood of them actually having the BTGs go elsewhere if reasonable rules were imposed is highly debatable. It probably has something to do with imposing rules on one type of group without imposing them on all guests????? Pure conjecture on my part. :confused3

As for the chaperones? :sad2: They aren't. They're paid (and probably poorly paid) young tour guides paid by the tour company. It's their job to keep these kids happy, not to monitor their behavior. Unfortunately. And obviously the tour companies are only interested in getting paid, and they wont' have customers if they get poor reviews from previous customers. And they won't get good reviews from the kids if the tour guides try to restrain the behaviour of these kids.

The end result is a large group of teenagers without any parental supervision allowed to pretty much do what they want. Gang mentality takes over. It's no different than what would happen with any similar group in a similar situation. It just happens that this particular group has become so dominant in recent years.:headache:

Lots of folks have recommended complaining to Disney and asking that they be 'restrained' (either their group size or their behavior). Look at it from Disney's side: Multiple BIG groups of paying customers who return yearly versus a small number of small family groups who may or may not return again at some future time. Who wins? Not me, that's for sure. We don't travel to WDW in July because of the heat. We will try to avoid January in the future ONLY because of how unpleasant it is to be surrounded by these BTGs.

One last thing- I know that we've been specifically talking about Brazillian TGs, but I have no hesitation in saying that I think it just as easily translates into any BIG Tour Group- no matter what the nationality.

We encountered the BTG in the beginning of June during our most recent trip. We didn't see them at our hotel (CSR), so no problems there. They were pretty obnoxious at the parks. DS was with a chaperone at the TSM FP line, but luckily a CM took the chaperone's tickets and ran/gave her the needed FPs so the line would be held up. We got to hear chanting and cheering on the Living with the Land ride.

just got back Saturday from a week at Disney and have to say that we didn't see a tour group of any kind. Guess we lucked out. :)

We did a long weekend Jan 20-22, 2012. Saw them in the parks, but blessedly not at BC. Also didn't hear any chanting so I guess we were lucky.

"Cale a boca e sair do caminho"

What is wrong with them. I can speak Portuguese so I have no problem asking them to step aside so we can go through. This is a trip of a lifetime for most of them so let them enjoy it. I would rather deal with them than the obese tourists in electric wheelchairs beeping their horns at people to move out of their way. One of them actually ran over my pregnant wife's foot and did not apologize after she yelled at her.

What is wrong with them? They have absolutely no right to enjoy themselves, if there actions while doing so, affect the enjoyment of others around them PERIOD. You shouldn't have to ask anyone to quit doing anything that's offensive to others. They should have the common decency not to, or at least learn the customs of our country before they come, or at the very least, be chaperoned by enough people who do. It's a once in a life time trip for a large number of the people at WDW, and their once in a lifetime experience is being tainted by the rude behavior of many of these groups. Disney knows when these groups come. They should have additional CM’s stationed in the parks, watching the queues and watching to make sure there actions aren’t adversely affecting there other guest.

I ran into zero large touring groups of any nationality last August, it was the last week. They dont really bother me unless they are so loud to the point where I cannot hear my music, or cut in line. I am hoping there are not any large/loud groups at SSR this July, I could not deal with them when I am trying to sleep!

I hope you also learn the words "please" and "thank you".

The wife and kids are going down in 12 days for 3 weeks. I'll report back my run ins if any. Last time down we had a issue at the Muppet movie. Cutting in line. That sort of stuff again the CM just turn a cheek. BTG may make up 1% of the total years gross but are treated as they bring in 99%. Elbows up and you'll be surprised that no one cuts in front of you without hurting themselves.

Wow. You would put your elbows up in order to hurt a child?!?!? Because I have never seen any adults other than the chaperone in the BTGs. It is all teenagers.

You are a real peach. :sad2:

Perhaps you would allow your kids to get trampled? Not say anything if you waited in line for 60mins in the Florida heat only to have 15 "angels" cut in line? Yes your a better person than I, But if you read my reply on line cutting you would see I'm not deliberately seeking out kids to injure them. Its a hockey term, your a real ......:rotfl:

If those rowdy teenagers were going to trample myself or my child, you bet your sweet bippy they'd be getting elbows from me, without a second thought.

We will never again go to WDW in January or late June/July, due to their rude, obnoxious behavior. They have ruined many vacations, yet Disney does not care, as long as they keep getting their almighty $$$. :headache:

January is the beginning of their summer holiday. Though honestly, they're not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Most of the Jan-March groups are family groups, and not the insane groups of July with nothing but teenagers.

If you zig when they zag, it'll all be ok!
