Brazilian Tour Groups

January is the beginning of their summer holiday. Though honestly, they're not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Most of the Jan-March groups are family groups, and not the insane groups of July with nothing but teenagers.

If you zig when they zag, it'll all be ok!

When the groups are everywhere, it's a little hard to "zig" when they "zag". They'll just be another group where you're zigging. :lmao:

We were there the 6th-16th of this month. We ran into what seemed to be the beginning of the groups. Specifically, on Soarin', these beasts were chanting and singing, and screeching. No CM stopped them, no CM said anything to them. Their "chaperone" did nothing. It was ridiculous, and we spent the rest of our vacation turning away whenever we saw these kids. There is a behavior protocol, and if you can't adapt, you don't belong.

Hmm I get that, but so do Americans, Canadians, Brits, Auzzies, etc Yet we don't see the same behavior from the before mentioned groups. I don't have any issues with the singing, etc but whenever my family is at WDW we run into the group leaders exchanging a large amounts of FP's and line cutting. That's my issues. Now I better stop because I feel I'm in the cross hairs so to speak.

No wonder I haven't seen them in years. We used to go in July all the time but for the last 10-15 years we've been going in November & December.

They are quite annoying with the chants. The chants are the only thing that bothered me really.

BTG were there when I was down there a couple of week ago and I had no issues with them.

:confused3

I'm a newbie to WDW so this is new to me as well. We're going in Oct., do you see them a lot in the month of Oct.?

They are not always that horrible. You just have to plan around them. ;) If you see them heading towards the same ride, get in line faster so you get ahead of them or go the opposite way.

i did in early october last year.

Didn't see many of these groups in late October.

We're going from 10/14-10/20.

I am sure we will encounter rude people at some point, maybe not from the BTG. This was an interesting thread to read. I wonder how Disney would react if a bunch of American tourists went around doing the same types of things people report the BTGs are seen doing.

Try reading some of the threads about the behaviour of some of the cheerleading groups in the parks. Not exactly stellar examples of teen behavior there, either.

I saw someone mention it in this thread (about cheerleaders). One evening when I am bored, I will do just that, thanks!

I was in Beijing in 2008 for the Olympics ( was there for business and just decided to extend my stay for a week to watch some events). Well let's just say the american fans were the most annoying. Everywhere you went all you heard was "USA USA USA", even if there were Americans participating in the event. They also dressed like the biggest goofballs.

Chanting loudly during shows and rides is not just having fun. Arriving at the last minute for a parade and then standing in front of everyone that has been waiting for an hour is not fun. Spreading out all over the sidewalks in huge groups to take a nap, making everyone walk around the group is not fun. Soaking their dirty feet in Cinderella's fountain behind the castle is just gross. Large groups constantly cutting in line is not fun. Getting behind one of their tour guides who has 100 tickets to run through is not fun. Trying to sleep when they are having a soccer game outside your room at midnight is not fun, especiallly when they are kicking the ball up against your wall and screaming at the top of their lungs. Them completely taking over the food court, drink machines, and pools so no one else can use them is not fun. The girls taking their bikini tops off in the pool around little kids is not fun. Them running little kids out of the splash fountains at Epcot, so they can use it is, not fun. Them loudly making fun of a handicapped child is not fun. Granted some of these kids are polite and well mannered, but the vast majority are just unruly, spoiled, rich, little hoodlums who want to see how much of a disturbance they can cause. What makes it so bad, is that Disney does absolutely nothing to even try to control these kids and if you complain, all you get is that it is Latin month and these kids are their guests too and it's just a cultural thing.

I have been to Disney 15 times, at all times of the year, and I have never seen behavior like you describe from the BTGs.

And I actually enjoy them when I happen to be at the water park with a BTG. They wear the BEST bikinis!

I had to laugh at these comments, because when we were there last October at ASMo, there was a group. One day at the pool, I got to have the fun time of explaining a THONG to my 5 year old son! He thought it was so funny that "those girls butts are showing!" :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: I will say that was the most attentive I've seen some of the dads at the pool! Haha!

I guess a thin tourist in an electric wheelchair running over your pregnant wife's foot and not apologizing would be OK?

How about - rude people are universal, and are found among all nationalities, sizes and shapes. One rude person from one such group does not equal ALL people of that group. Rudeness is its own category. :hippie:

Amen! I've been to Disney in January many times and I've found the average local tourist to be just as rude as the foreign tourists. I've actually had some brazilians apologize and be very nice to me. It's wrong to lump them all into one category.

There was almost a brawl outside of Epcot during park close as a Father whom had confronted a group of Brazillians who were making out in front of his kids during Illuminations began to chant, "USA! USA!", back at the group.

we will be there in july and we will have a few duck calls to blow around them when they start chanting. my wife says it juvenile but i say quack quack...thanks duck commander! :thumbsup2

We were just there last week June 23 - 30 and saw several tour groups. I know they were from Brazil cause their shirts said so. Anyways I didnt see any bad or rude behavior or even chanting. Yes they were large groups and we avoided being behind them in lines but their behavior was fine. Maybe there has been enough complaints that they have been told to act better:confused3 Also saw a huge group from Puerto Rico one day and they were fine too!:thumbsup2
