Brawl at Test Track-Epcot

I really think the CM was darned if he did, darned of he didn't.

Yup. I actually wonder if instead of a bunch of women fighting, what if the situation was reversed and it had been 2 big and ripped dudes pounding each other. Would people have been okay with those two just pounding away with blood flying or would people have stepped in? And if people would have stepped in, why is it okay in that situation but not in the one which actually occurred?

I'm not really sure why you find the speculation so amusing. I think I've seen at least a baker's dozen smart aleck replies from you.

What, exactly, are you talking about? I find people making statements that the CM lost his job to be a bit odd because nobody knows that to be the case. I don't think I'm the only one in this thread who feels that way either. If you think my posts are against the rules, please report them.

So essentially the CM was in damned if you do, damned if you don't. He's likely to be fired (I guess) by Disney for intervening in a fight. But if he had stood by and just watched people fight and those people ended up seriously hurt, I suspect he would have also been fired for just standing, eating some popcorn, and enjoying the show. And I guess some folks would also side with Disney because the employer is never wrong.

No, I don't agree that he would have been fired for following company policy. If there is such a policy that is.

Anyone know what sparked it? Besides people being immature, of course.

I'm with you. From a cursory glance I don't think that anyone has as such established that the CM was fired. I could be wrong mind.

I haven't seen anyone establish it yet either, but it keeps being stated as factual in some posts. Speculation is one thing. Claiming facts that do not exist is something completely different.

In today's day and age they better plan for heavy security and response times no more than a few minutes. Heck, we have had deescalation training, active shooter training, anti-terrorism training and the list gets longer each year. I would certainly hope a place like WDW would provide their CMs the same training and the security force to back them up.
I still say the guy in the shirt who is restraining umbrella woman was security. He physically held the woman back, put his arm out to keep her from going forward after the fight had stopped and did not move on with others in the line as they fed into the ride. He stayed with the commotion after everyone else left. I don't think a casual bystander would do all of that.

Either that or he's some variety of a first responder and his instincts kicked in.

Only in the arena of public opinion.

Public opinion is the only one that matters. See what's happening is interesting as the public at large is siding with the CM on his actions. But some seem to think Disney will likely fire him, we will see. But if the CM had done nothing, the public would be outraged and all the Twitter talking heads would be demanding that he be fired. And Disney, being a publicly traded company, would likely cave, like all companies nowadays seem to.

I'll say it once again. Speculating and having an opinion about what has happened or may happen is fine. There are people making claims that are simply not true and it's rather annoying to watch people do it.
