Should be moved to News thread….any minute now….
I really think the CM was darned if he did, darned of he didn't.
I'm not really sure why you find the speculation so amusing. I think I've seen at least a baker's dozen smart aleck replies from you.
So essentially the CM was in damned if you do, damned if you don't. He's likely to be fired (I guess) by Disney for intervening in a fight. But if he had stood by and just watched people fight and those people ended up seriously hurt, I suspect he would have also been fired for just standing, eating some popcorn, and enjoying the show. And I guess some folks would also side with Disney because the employer is never wrong.

This is the court of public opinion![]()

What, exactly, are you talking about? I find people making statements that the CM lost his job to be a bit odd because nobody knows that to be the case. I don't think I'm the only one in this thread who feels that way either.
Public opinion on a DIScussion board? What a novel idea!Only in the arena of public opinion.

I'm with you. From a cursory glance I don't think that anyone has as such established that the CM was fired. I could be wrong mind.

I still say the guy in the shirt who is restraining umbrella woman was security. He physically held the woman back, put his arm out to keep her from going forward after the fight had stopped and did not move on with others in the line as they fed into the ride. He stayed with the commotion after everyone else left. I don't think a casual bystander would do all of that.In today's day and age they better plan for heavy security and response times no more than a few minutes. Heck, we have had deescalation training, active shooter training, anti-terrorism training and the list gets longer each year. I would certainly hope a place like WDW would provide their CMs the same training and the security force to back them up.

I haven't seen anyone establish it yet either, but it keeps being stated as factual in some posts. Speculation is one thing. Claiming facts that do not exist is something completely different.
Welcome to the DisBoards.

Already a huge thread on this, http://www.disboards.com/threads/brawl-at-test-track-epcot.3432911/page-16#post-54130544
Public opinion is the only one that matters. See what's happening is interesting as the public at large is siding with the CM on his actions. But some seem to think Disney will likely fire him, we will see. But if the CM had done nothing, the public would be outraged and all the Twitter talking heads would be demanding that he be fired. And Disney, being a publicly traded company, would likely cave, like all companies nowadays seem to.
