Brawl at Test Track-Epcot

Not exactly sure of what you are saying, but having alcohol in the parks is something I have never agreed with, and I am not against alcohol consumption in general. After being at Food & Wine once, that opinion is set in concrete in my mind.
I am just being silly. But, I agree that fights tend to be alcohol-fueled. I live in a football-frenzy, university town. The behavior can be, let's say, nothing you'd want grandma to witness. Maybe Epcot can unleash an army of Mary Poppins-esque ladies to manage etiquette and issue stern warnings. I'd pay extra to see that!

Is anyone really surprised? You have a public place, and even if the cost of attendance is pretty high it doesn't keep trashy people out. Near where I live we've gotten "upscale" shopping districts built. Even though they try to maintain a certain atmosphere, they can't keep people out because the "look like they might cause trouble". Heck - the place I'm thinking of has a movie theater with armed security. I hadn't heard of any particular incident at that theater, but there was a drive-by shooting at another theater in the area, and for a while the police dedicated one patrol car to wait there at all times when it was open for business.

Yes, it appears some are surprised.

Definitely, but if he'd put his drink down he could probably stand up straight after a while! :jester:

While Walt would definitely drink and smoke, he was very conscious of any member of the public seeing him so so, or anyone photographing or filming him at those times.

However, he was pretty adamant that he didn't want any alcohol served at Disneyland, although he did allow it at Club 33.

The nice thing about pearl is that it's also suitable for clutching when other people do things that scandalize you...

Years ago, I worked in the babysitting room at the YMCA. We had a little boy there who had a truly life threatening allergy. We were instructed by our branch director that we could not, under any circumstances, administer an epipen. They would have rather had us watch a little boy die than to give him treatment because they were afraid of a lawsuit. Most of us made it clear to the little boy's mom that us would absolutely give the epipen, no question. If we got fired, then so be it.

Yep! Do what's right! Something people in general, especially younger generations, know so little about. The dollar, in many cases, means so much more than morals or having concern for others. Sad really.
That CM did the right thing regardless of company policy.

I'm surprised, but it's sort of that mock, pearl-clutching surprised. Won't someone just think of the children? And the posh accommodations?

I go to Japan in the world showcase at the start of each trip so I can get a new pearl to clutch while I'm on my vacation. :)

I laugh when I see people saying that the "woman" hitting the other "woman" with an umbrella will sue WDW. What the heck is the basis for the lawsuit? This country has gotten so disgusting with the amount of lawsuits over every damn frivolous thing, it turns my stomach. Now some person's gonna get money because someone tried to stop her from beating the sh*t out of someone else? When is this insanity going to stop???????

I wasn't saying that there was basis for a lawsuit but when has that stopped some people?

I'm kind of surprised more of the other guests haven't come forward to say something. Seems like anytime something happens and a video goes viral, anyone that was anywhere near wants the whole world to know it. "I was there too! Look at me!"
Especially if they could get a FP or something out of it ;-)

In my home state these situations are at least partly addressed through Good Samaritan laws.

It wouldn't really help with private employment. If the employer has a policy that only security or uniformed law enforcement have the authority to break up a fight, then they can and probably will fire someone for violation of company policy.

Sorry if I wasn't clear / I was referring more to the Epi Pen comment than the CM in this fight.

This leads to believe that woman hit the teen first. If I'm having an argument and out of the blue, two people just jump on me, you better believe I'm pressing charges. BUT, if I threw the first blow(and hit a minor), I'm going to let it go.

I believe this part: So What?? They could have talked / yelled at her all the way through the line. She had no business walking back to where they were. People can talk smack all day long. You can ignore it, talk back or call a CM in to call security. Walking back to confront them ( and I think throwing the first punch ), took the whole thing from a verbal confrontation to a physical one. was from you and it ended up in your quote of me.

Basically, you are saying that girl#1 shoulders the entire responsibility for the incident. She should have walked away. She should have ignored everything. And because she didn't, you believe she threw the first punch; even though you can't tell from that video if she actually did or not. And the fact that charges haven't been issued (at this time) confirms that she instigated it.

I just don't see what you are seeing from what was on that video.

However, wouldn't the same issue arise? If it's employer policy to not administer medication, then I'm not sure what else could be done. Many employers will have such a policy even if there's little risk of liability in a particular state. A lot of companies have the same policy that applies nationwide without being individually tailored for different laws.
