Hi all,
Just had to post to say what a fantastic time we had at CSR once again. We stayed for a week at the end of March and it was even better than our last trip!
The updated rooms are fantastic - so much more luxurious than before. From the bigger beds to the privacy door rather than curtain, it just makes the rooms look so classy. We loved the addition of the desk and flat screen TV which both give more workspace and more storage space to keep the odd food items.
The staff bent over backwards to honour our room requests, make some last minute ADR's and bell services were so helpful too.
We managed to get our request of Cabanas (although it seems that faxes don't really work anymore, as no-one seemed to have taken note of our requests before we arrived at check-in). This was quickly sorted out though and we were moved from our original room allocation to one in the Cabanas. We stayed in 8A as we had done before and got a fantastic water view room (we had payed for a water view BTW, although last trip we were upgraded when we hadn't booked one).
We normally waited between 2 and 10 minutes for a bus, although on an EMH night at AK and going for a EMH morning at EPCOT we did wait about 15-20 mins for a bus.
We never had to stand, although those that caught the bus at El Centro sometimes did.
The Pepper Market was ok - food good but still can't understand why they shove the 10% gratuity on
Cafe Rix is great - very conveniant for refilling mugs and snack items. Also, it was great to stay by the Dig Site again and be able to refill our mugs there too.
Housekeeping was good - rooms were very clean and all our essentials were replenished well (apart from the day before check-out when we were left will no toilet roll - this was sorted quickly though). Our only complaint was that, on 2 ocassions, the room wasn't serviced until gone 3pm. I know that this happens at all the WDW resorts, but it's just so incoveniant when you've been out since 7.30am and want to relax and have a nap.
The Dig site was busy (it was over spring break!), but the quiet pools rarely had more than a handful of people in them.
There was a conference of some sort on while we were there but we only ever saw any participants in the early PM whilst eating at the Pepper Market and they certainly didn't bother us!
Even though it was Spring Break, the resort didn't seem crowded at all and during the days we all commented how quiet it was, as walking around the resort you'd normally only pass half a dozen people. That was such a bonus for us and the resot once again just seemed so peaceful.
All-in-all it was a wonderful stay and I'm a little sad that next trip will be spent at SSR (only because we're getting free
DDP), but we're already planning a trip over to CSR whilst we're there.
