Welcome. However, this is the CSR thread, not the CBR (Caribbean). :)

Ooops. Forgive me!! I did mean CSR not CBR. Got off work after 12 hrs today and am a little loopy. I fully knew this was the CSR thread.

Our family will be staying at CSR at the same time that another family from home will be at Disney. They are friends of the family and are staying off Disney. We were thinking of having the other family over for lunch. What else would you suggest we do? Can we take them to the pool with us? Do you have to have a room key to get to the pools? Any ideas?

Hi, all. I know I've already posted a summary of my recent CSR stay here on this thread, but in case any of you are interested in reading a more thorough account, I'm in the process of posting a 2-part review at my blog, including photos:

Review: Coronado Springs Resort, part 1

I loved your part 1 review of CSR -- just a fabulous write-up. :thumbsup2 Really looking forward to Part 2. Please post your link to part 2 when you are done.

We have decided to stay at CSR in August. (Was waffling between WL and CSR for a while there but finally decided that it definitely was not worth the extra $700 for indoor corridors in a self-contained building.) Your review has convinced me that our decision is a good one.

However, I am a bit worried about housekeeping leaving your door ajar. Does this happen often? I think yours has been the third review that I've read in the past two months in which a guest has returned to his/her room after a day at the park to find the door left ajar. Did you call the manager/front desk to address this, and what was their response, if you did?

Just had to post, I'm so excited as I made the final payment on our reservation yesterday! We'll be at CSR again in less than 44 days :dance3:

I would have NEVER thought CSR would become one of our favorite WDW resorts. The size scared us away from it for two years but when we tried it we were sold. Don't be afraid of trying CSR because of its size, you'll be missing out!

Hi all,

Just had to post to say what a fantastic time we had at CSR once again. We stayed for a week at the end of March and it was even better than our last trip! :cool1:

The updated rooms are fantastic - so much more luxurious than before. From the bigger beds to the privacy door rather than curtain, it just makes the rooms look so classy. We loved the addition of the desk and flat screen TV which both give more workspace and more storage space to keep the odd food items. :thumbsup2

The staff bent over backwards to honour our room requests, make some last minute ADR's and bell services were so helpful too.

We managed to get our request of Cabanas (although it seems that faxes don't really work anymore, as no-one seemed to have taken note of our requests before we arrived at check-in). This was quickly sorted out though and we were moved from our original room allocation to one in the Cabanas. We stayed in 8A as we had done before and got a fantastic water view room (we had payed for a water view BTW, although last trip we were upgraded when we hadn't booked one).

We normally waited between 2 and 10 minutes for a bus, although on an EMH night at AK and going for a EMH morning at EPCOT we did wait about 15-20 mins for a bus.

We never had to stand, although those that caught the bus at El Centro sometimes did.

The Pepper Market was ok - food good but still can't understand why they shove the 10% gratuity on :headache:

Cafe Rix is great - very conveniant for refilling mugs and snack items. Also, it was great to stay by the Dig Site again and be able to refill our mugs there too.

Housekeeping was good - rooms were very clean and all our essentials were replenished well (apart from the day before check-out when we were left will no toilet roll - this was sorted quickly though). Our only complaint was that, on 2 ocassions, the room wasn't serviced until gone 3pm. I know that this happens at all the WDW resorts, but it's just so incoveniant when you've been out since 7.30am and want to relax and have a nap.

The Dig site was busy (it was over spring break!), but the quiet pools rarely had more than a handful of people in them.

There was a conference of some sort on while we were there but we only ever saw any participants in the early PM whilst eating at the Pepper Market and they certainly didn't bother us!

Even though it was Spring Break, the resort didn't seem crowded at all and during the days we all commented how quiet it was, as walking around the resort you'd normally only pass half a dozen people. That was such a bonus for us and the resot once again just seemed so peaceful. :cloud9:

All-in-all it was a wonderful stay and I'm a little sad that next trip will be spent at SSR (only because we're getting free DDP), but we're already planning a trip over to CSR whilst we're there.

Great reeport, thanks for sharing. We leave in 14 days for our third stay at CSR and we can't wait!!! We are hoping for Casitas 5 or 4 if 5 ins't finished since we've stayed in both Ranchos and Cabanas.

Glad you loved Cafe Rix. It wasn't there when we stayed in 2004, but for a quick breakfast or gelato it sounds perfect. Thanks again!!! :goodvibes

Yeah I think when most people hear "convention", they're scared off of CSR......which is fine by me! LOL But actually it's much more peaceful because they're in meeting all day long. We were there the 2nd week of March and there was some sort of convention going on and the people wore business casual wear and only walked around to casually take pictures. It was so so so peaceful! I t hink there was a cheering competition going on too but the girls were so young (maybe 13 and under) and I never noticed them till the next day when we would leave for the parks and they would be walking around WITH THEIR PARENTS.

I don't know about other resorts as this was our first stay and we fell in love but my daughter told me she does NOT want to stay anywhere else! She said we can visit other resorts but her home in Florida is CSR! LOL She's so cute!

Oh btw, the gelatos in Cafe Rix are yummy....and fairly inexpensive. She loved them!

Yay! I was especially interested that it was not crowded there during spring break. Good to hear...

Agreed! CSR is Disney's best-kept secret.

That was, from my experience, the best bargain at Cafe Rix. Totally worth it. :thumbsup2

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments about my review. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll definitely post the link to part 2 when it goes up later this week. After that, I think I will still have some leftover CSR photos that I'll do a photo blog on and will let you know about that, too.

However, I am a bit worried about housekeeping leaving your door ajar. Does this happen often? I don't know if it happens often, it just happened to me once. I didn't call anyone about it, because nothing was missing, and so I figured "no harm, no foul". And I didn't need their services for the rest of my stay after that, so I didn't see the point in complaining.

We finally leave for our trip on Thursday.:cool1: I can't wait to get there, rain or not. We have never stayed at this resort before. I requested the Cabanas but the Casitas sound so nice I want to stay there as well. I guess I will leave it up to fate and see what happens. I just really want a renovated room because I am loving the pictures from the post.

Friday is my DS 16th birthday. I know there is all that rain out there, and here at home too. I have our ponchos ready and we will just slosh through it all. Just hope there are no monsoons.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Also DD and DDBF just graduated from college. So much to celebrate at a great place. :dance3:

Have a magical trip, and congrats on the birthday and the graduations! :)

We'll be there on Saturday so we're counting down this week too

Hope you have a great trip!

Coronado Update:

Ranchos 7B is now down for refurb!

Hi, stranger. How are you? We've missed you. Don't know if you saw my message, but we've had to cancel our trip, so I'm counting on you to keep me updated via email or posting here.

Does this mean Casitas 5 is done?

That's great! Do you think it will be done by mid-August?

My guess is yes. JamesLynn indicated it takes about a month or so for each building. The reason I'm unclear as to whether Casitas 5 is done is because it is a big building.

I forgot to post my review to this thread so instead of taking up a huge space with all my pics and stuff I thought I'd just post a link to my review. I'm still sorting through all my pics, I eneded up taking some photos around CSR just about every day during our 10 day trip so they're all over the place on my computer.

Cheerful.. I THINK I AM IN YOUR POOL PHOTO!!!! The one you took from the bridge... I think that is me by the stairs!!! What date was this taken? LOL.
