My hubby will be in a VIP room for a few days and I will be there with my older daughter for a few days after he leaves. She has a waterview and we were wondering if we should request a room close to his.
Where are the VIP rooms? My daughter was going to request a Cabana room, should she do that? Walking is not an issue for us and no worries about catching buses.
Thanks for any help.pirate:
All the VIP suites are located in the casita section so if you want a room close to his, you will have to request something in the casitas.

Are the upper level room in Casitas quieter and renovated. I'm worried about being on a ground level room.pirate:

We have stayed on every floor in the Casitas--and we have never had an issue with noise on any of them--from 1st floor to 4th floor. Casitas 1, 2 and 3's 4th floors are the only ones currently rehabbed.

We also were at CSR last week - and it really is as nice as Buzz says it is! Our request for a Cabanas room was fulfilled - what a lovely room; good mousekeeping; nice view of the back lake when we stepped out of the room. We really needed a 'break', and we got it at CSR.

Afterwards, we spent 2 days at POP - what a fun place that is. Lots of kids and activities; great food court. Not very quiet, though - we could always hear people going by our room, as well as the kids in the pool.

What we especially liked about CSR was how peaceful it is. Lots of space, beautiful lake, lots of trees and hibiscus plants. Our location was excellent, too - the Cabanas really is a great location to be.

I'll post some pictures soon!

Thanks Buzz for all the great info posted here and on your site. DH and I have wanted to stay at CSR since we saw it under construction during our honeymoon in 1996. That dream will finally come true this coming Sunday, 3/1, when we check into CSR for the first time! :yay: I have a few questions though. First, what is the dress code for Rix Lounge? I’m thinking I need to step it up a bit from my theme park attire of cargo pants and a character T-shirt. Also, I have an 8:10 ADR for Crystal Palace breakfast. We will have our car, and would normally prefer to drive, but I’m thinking we might be better off taking the bus to MK that morning to make sure we get to the MK gate as early as possible. I’ve read that a bus will come around for people with early ADR’s. Will it stop at all the CSR bus stops, or do I need to be at a certain one? About what time should the bus come? Can I count on the early bus showing up, or do I need to inform someone at CSR’s front desk that we need an early bus that day? (My breakfast is on a non-EMH morning.) Thanks so much!

Thanks for the info, you too KatMark. Also, this is our first time using buses... Does the bus go right to the Entrance of MK or to the TTC?

Buzz2001 - I was holding out hope for that playoff game but at least we won the division and have bragging rights over JetFans for a while :thumbsup2

The bus goes right to the entrance of MK.

OOOOHHHHHH! Sand volleyball??!!?? I play in 3 leagues here in Chicago. I would be THRILLED to play there at CSR. Were there alot of people playing? And (most importantly) was the court near a bar?:drinking1 :lmao:

Yes, the court is right next to the bar! DH and I have had a pick-up game on occasion with other resort dwellers. Our boys used to play all the time when they traveled with us.

I saw mostly kids with parents playing this trip.

There is a dress code after 9pm. They prefer that guests not wear sneakers, tank tops, hats or shorts.

Yes, the bus drops you off at the gate area. Its the regular MK bus and it stops at all stops. Yes, they start an hour before the ADR's.

What type of dress code is there, is a skirt & sandals acceptable or is this place more dressy? Dh only wears jeans with a button up shirt, are we going to feel out of place? I was hoping to be able to go here during our stay, but now I'm not sure. We are not the real dressy up kind lol

Hey Everyone!

I just changed to CSR for our trip in May. When I looked up our reservation online, it said we have a "Limited View" room. What the heck does that mean? Is there something less than "Standard" room? We are booked on an AP rate :confused3 Any help would be great!

Not sure what that means because your room isn't assigned until 5 days or so prior to arrival so they have no idea where you will be when they print that conf sheet. CSR has standard and water view rooms.

Wow...I am so glad I decided to check in (haven't been in awhile) and read this post! I am heading up to Disney for just a quick trip next week and styaing at the Coronado. At first I was very unsure, knowing nothing about this resort. Then after viewing the Disney planning DVD, well it looked quite nice! Now after reading through this thread and seeing the awesome photos...well now I am quite excited and wish I was staying longer!! :cool1:

Let me just ask a question about the food - I have heard about the Pepper Market (I think that's the name of their food court) and I think they have a sit-down restaurant too (??)...any special recommendations? I do love Mexican and Tex-Mex food - is that a theme here for some of the food items?

And at another time I was recommended to have breakfast over at Boatwrights at the POR - heard they have a great french toast! Is it worth going there or are the options just as good at the Coronoado? Worth just eating here?

Thanks so much for any input :woohoo:

hello there buzz thank you for all your advice.

Do they allow Children in Rix Lounge in evenings?
Thanks
Ela

The PM has a large variety of food. They recently changed the menu and got rid of two of my favorite mexican dinners, the wet burrito and the taco salad. They still have fajitas and quesadillas.

Would you recommend the non-expire, if we plan on going back? It's kind of tough thinking about spending that money, but a savings of almost $500? That's outrageous! Have you done this before?

If you do get the non-expire, can you add the dining plan later on when you book your room?

Buzz, loving the pics and the report, I cannot wait to first set eyes on CSR!!!
