Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston Split

Well at least Ben Affleck will have another Jen to date. I was getting worried that the bennifer name was going to go by the wayside. Really I am sorry to hear this I thought they were a great couple.

Considering how marriages (don't) last in Hollywood ~ I'm surprised theirs lasted as long as it did!

At least there are no children involved. I wish them both the best. I always thought they wouldn't last as there is so much pressure on a movie star couple. They would be in competition with each other, i.e. who has the better roles, whose film is a success etc. etc.

Looks like I need to give Jennifer a call and console her..poor thing. Now where did I put her number......

Okay Uncle Kyle, while you are consoling Jennifer, I will console Brad.

Seriously though, I am totally shocked!!

Seven years. It's the Seven year Itch. Too bad. On an inteview for "Ocean's Twelve" with Diane Sawyer, Brad was saying how he was looking forward to babies in his future.:(

But in an earlier interview on Oprah months before, he had said, he said to Jennifer about how they both don't have the kind of commitment where they pledged themselves to be together forever. They were taking it one day at a time.

I think since the end of "Friends," things have changed a lot for Jennifer. She had a stable job she went to every day. Now she is available to do more movies & travel away from Brad for too long periods of time.:(

:(

darn. They were supposed to be making The Time Travellers Wife. I was really looking forward to that.

sigh.

As much as I liked them together, I always had a feeling that it wouldn't last. It will be weird to see them with other people though.

I don't know them or how they treated each other outside the public eye, so I have no idea if it's sad or a good thing. All I know is this thing happens to to thousands of couples every day. Sometimes it's good, sometimes not. I not sure why we care given the majority of us don't know them.

I, for one, didn't think they'd be lasting much longer....

Too bad Brad's a little older than me....maybe he can set me up with Chad or Andre when I console him ;) :teeth:

I don't understand why so many Hollywood marriages don't last...

I get that they have pressures and stress.. just like the rest of the world. There's may be different but by no stretch are they any worse than ours.... infact maybe there's are more surface and selfish (like who made the most in the last movie and what not). At least they now the electricity isn't going to be shut off and that there is enough in the bank account to go grocery shopping.... Why don't they last?

I think selfishness has a lot to do with it.

Yeah, after seeing that interview I figured it was just a matter of time. So I suppose I am in the minority when I say that I am far from shocked.

I also don't bet a lot on many hollywood couples lasting forever just based on the fact that it seems that "brief" marriages is the norm for the rich and famous of tinsel town.

That's exactly what I was thinking of also. Unfortunately I can't be surprised. Marriage is difficult in itself let alone a Hollywood marriage.

All the best to both of them.

It was surprising news. They did seem to make a nice couple.

I was pretty surprised when I heard this this morning...almost as surprised as I was with Tom and Nicole.

Oh well, I'm still rooting for Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson...now they really do seem to be in love. I love how he talks about her...

Isn't the divorce rate almost 60% whether you're a star or not? You certainly don't have to be a star to be selfish. And plenty of people get married hastily and for the wrong reasons right in our own backyards. And rumor has it that there may even be some divorced people on the Dis :worried: I feel for anyone who has to experience divorce, but I also realize that it crosses all cultures, lifestyles and socio-economic status.
