Bouncing on Bounce Backs (Update Pg 20 post 299)

We've only stayed ASMovies, CBR, and CSR. 2009 was our first trip, so still lacking in experience, but trying to remedy that. :thumbsup2

Here's to more getting more experience! :drinking1

This year, I was pushing for FQ, but DH really liked POR until he saw CSR and then he insisted. I didn't argue, because I was just thankful to be upgrading. :lmao:

I want to stay at POR once they remodel the rooms into those new themes. Have you seen the example rooms?

We've tried to focus on new experiences - resort and food wise. But I have a feeling that when we find the special resort that just screams to us, we won't be able to stay anywhere else. And we HAVE to eat at WGP's every year - its our tradition. So we try to eat new places for the rest of our meals.

For years, we've been stuck in the same rut, doing the same things over and over. We did a few firsts recently. One of them was the Behind the Seeds Tour. That was cool, I'd like to do that again! It's been years since we did the family magic tour. I'd love to take Anakin on that tour. Since he is at that age where he isn't sure about the fine line between reality and pretend, he would be perfect for that tour!

We are so excited about going HOME in August! As soon we parked our car to eat supper at the Pepper Market on Wednesday, it just felt like home!

I look forward to the comfortable queen size beds. (Hopefully I will find sleep better than Lidian did! Though I think I had trouble sleeping there the first night in March.)

You know those souvenier popcorn buckets? I discovered by dumb luck that they make great lettuce crispers! Last Tuesday I was in a hurry and needed an container quick after I had cut a head of lettuce with a knife. I grabbed a popcorn bucket and put chunks of the head of lettuce into it. Except for what dh and I needed for a small salad.

I forgot about that lettuce until today. When I opened the container, I expected to see brown all along where I cut the lettuce with a knife. Instead, I found perfectly crisp, green lettuce! No brown anywhere!!

I'd love to do some tours! I tried to talk DH into doing at least one this year, but he didn't want to. So I may have to do them on a girl's only trip or something. I haven't seen anything about the new POR rooms. All I heard is that FQ got a refurb - but wasn't sure what all it included. I heard they got Queens. But that's all I heard about any resort refurbs.

I was really pushing for the Family Magic tour, but DH stood firm on no. He really wants a segway, so I even tried to talk him into the segway tour at EP. Still no. Maybe next year! And if nothing else, I'll plan something for at least me (kids, too perhaps), and leave DH in the room. :lmao:

That's awesome! Now I wish I got one. :thumbsup2

How exciting to do three trips! Actually, I am working on our third trip of the year at the moment. I ought to add that to my PTR :woohoo:

POFQ is our favorite resort. I just love that it's all so close together. After all that schlepping around the parks, who wants to do that when it's time to relax?!

Looking forward to hearing more about your plans.

Here is a link to the "Royal Rooms" for POR and the "Health Rooms" for the Contemporaty. http://attractionsmagazine.com/blog...d-health-and-wellness-suites-at-contemporary/ I really would like to stay in a Royal Room! Wonder if I could talk my boys into humoring me?

We lucked out years ago, and got a Family Magic Tour for free. We were a member of some Disney card. (Might have been the Disney Magic Club? It was so long ago, in the 90's. My memory is foggy on it's name.) There was a coupon that came for a free Family Magic Tour. We did the tour and loved it! Grumpy was about Anakin's age now.

The only other tour we did was the VMK tour they had as a promotion for year of a million dreams. VMK was so much fun, I miss that game!

DH did the segway they use to have at Innoventions for free. Wouldn't you know it, they stopped doing it just when Grumpy turned 16. Or if they still do it, we are timing out Innovention's visists wrong!

Maybe with your dad going along this trip, he might be willing to entertain the kids while you and dh do a tour?

Congrats on planning your third trip of the year! Were your other two to WDW or other destination?

I'd love any advice or tips you have on POFQ!? My only concern is having just one pool. Though I know we can use any of the pools at POR too. The pool is our main draw to a resort. Are there any certain room locations you prefer? We booked a standard. Will we probably be looking at a parking lot?

Those Royal Rooms look sooo awesome! I want! So ... now I have to plan a girls trip for sure. :goodvibes

What is VMK?

They had segways available to "try" in Innoventions in 2009 and last year. My aunt and mom did it in 2009 and DH did it last year. It was really just get on, go down to the end, turn around, and come back - so he was on it for just a minute or so. I recall it being near the Piggy Bank thing. We totally skipped Innoventions this year. :sad1:

My dad is such a worry-wart. He'd never be comfortable entertaining the kids in a big place like WDW alone. The best I'd get out of him would be to sit in the room - but that's no fun!

This was the first year I had ever seen any tours going on - and I saw tons of them! (Not tour groups visiting, but CM's leading tours in the parks.)

VMK means Virtual Magic Kingdom. It was a game where we all had little avatar people and just about everything that was in the MK was in our VMK!! It was so much fun and so many DISers played. It was designed for kids, but I think there were probably more adults than kids playing by the end.

That is great that you might be able to get away for a girls only trip. That would never happen in my case since family is so far away and Anakin needs constant supervision.

The tours do seem to be more visible now, than in the past.

Well that was strange, my response to you showed up before your post to me.

Oh that sounds soo cool! I wanna play now!!!

That's because I post from the future? :confused3

It's our third trip to the world this year. And maybe you might even count it as the fourth since we did SeaWorld over Spring break - but did manage to get one day at Disney while we were there. We leave in about a month for two weeks - then I am doing a girls/adults only trip at the end of August - and now we are looking at a long weekend in October for the F&W festival. We are even looking at long weekends close to Thanksgiving and Christmas - it's the curse of the annual pass!

We do love POFQ. We prefer building 4. We have looked out over the parking lot once - but the courtyard is really pretty to look at and the parking lot is beyond it. Another time, we didn't look over the parking lot - and it was just a gorgeous courtyard and fountain. (If you want to look at my ancient tr - I have pictures from the resort - I am just not sure which page they are on)

I like building four because that is right next to the food court and the bus stop - and diagonally over from the pool.

You can go over to POR's pool. You can walk or take the boat over. We have done both. The pools are vastly different, so it's like having two themed pools at your resort!

I'd count it as 4th ;) you did go to Disney one day!! I will search for your TR. Are there standard rooms near the pool? I think we will be spending alot of time there.

The last time we stayed at POR, Anakin was a baby. We went over to the theme pool at FQ once. But it was so long ago, I don't remember much about it. We do have a picture of me holding Anakin as a baby beside the alligator, I think he was playing a drum?

Why'd they close if it was so popular? :(

They actually kept it longer than planned.

Here is one of the news clips about the closing.

I loved it, in part, because it was a game that Grumpy and I could play together and we had many of the same friends in the game, both adult and children. We learned about it one day while buying a pin. We were given a vmk card when we bought the pin. We asked what it was. The man behind us said that if we didn't want it, he would gladly take it. He played the game.

He ended up explaining the game to us. Took us to VMK Central on Main St. and showed us how to create our characters. I was luvthattink and he was starwarskid. It was a fun 3 years! Though I pretty much stopped playing in the last year.

Found a couple old pictures of Grumpy and Anakin with Cinderella at Toontown. Petals has me thinking about Toontown.

This is Grumpy, sometime in the 1990's. Maybe 1996?

Last night, we (DH and I) renewed our PAP, so we are good to go for another year!!!

We are still trying to decide what to do about Goofy's PAP. He wants to get a job at Disney. If he does, he wouldn't need a pass. However, he still has community service hours he needs to get in order to qualify for the Bright Futures College Scholarship. We are thinking maybe a seasonal pass, that way if he doesn't get a job at Disney he will be able to get into the parks when we are on vacation there. His current pass expires June 6th. I'm not sure what to do about his??
