I'm going in a few weeks, if they offer a bounceback does that just mean in the near future? I'm planning to go back in 2009 but in the summer.

The last bounceback I got it was last Sept for this year mid aug to Sept for FD never seen anything for free dining for earlier in summer. just what I saw when I was there last year :)

Not to hijack, but maybe expand :) I'm going in October and hoping for a bounceback for maybe Oct 2009 or even early December 2009? What are my chances, especially for the December 2009 BB offer?

OH! I forgot about bouncebacks!! Do you ask for the rate or do they somehow offer at checkout?

I'm going in November with my parents and son, but want to take hubby back in February for a Valentines day present.

hmmmm...

:flower3: Thank you for reminding me to check it out!

With the current state of the economy, there is no telling what WDW will do to sustain visitor levels during "slower" (comparatively speaking) times.

That said, here is some historical perspective on room only bounceback offers. I was at WDW in December 2007. At that time, the room only bounceback offer was as follows:

1/6 to 2/2/08
2/24 to 3/1/08
3/30 to 4/12/08
8/10 to 9/27/08

These dates applied to deluxe resorts though the dates for moderates were almost the same. If rooms were available, you could book a room and receive 30 percent off the regular rate for these dates. (Deluxe Villa dates were roughly the same dates but the offer for them was 40% off.)

You must book before you checkout. The in room resort phones have a reservation phone number on them. Plan on spending a while on the phone. (I spent 45 minutes.) The rate they quote you will be the discounted rate (assuming you qualify etc.). You simply need to make the standard deposit for a room only reservation (but note there is some dispute about whether the cancellation period is now 6 days or 46 days before the stay).

Not everyone gets a flyer (I didn't). Some people learn about bounceback offers through flyers in the room, on the tv channel or by asking. Even if you don't see any flyer about it, ask for it at the front desk.

I was able to change the dates for my bounceback trip after I returned home. I returned sooner than my original reservation. I don't see anything that prevents you from booking within the dates offered while you are there and then calling later to see whether they have opened bounceback offers for later dates. As long as you are still outside of your no risk cancellation window, the worst that could happen is that you have to cancel your existing reservation.

I am staying at the Poly in Aug and the AKL and BW in Oct. I am really hoping for a bouceback for Jan and Oct 09....hope I can get one!

This previous post might help you out too :goodvibes

Here's a little history (not complete) of what some of the Bouncebacks offered:

BTW- You can bounceback to any resort that has availability with that particular bounceback offer, not just the one you are staying at at the time.

The Bounceback during free dining last year (2007 - for guests staying at a WDW resort 8/31 to 10/12/07) was to be able to book free dining again for the next year (2008- dates 8/30-9/29/08).

It looked like this (thanks to mickey2000):

TuesdaySeptember1120072.jpg

Then another BB started on 10/23/07 and that Bounceback was for resort guests staying at a WDW resort and was for room discount incentives again to book ahead for these dates: 12/9/07-12/15/07, 1/6/08-2/2/08, 2/24/08-3/1/08, 3/30/08-4/21/08, 8/10/08-9/27/08.

Info was:
Save 30% off the non-discounted rate for stays most nights 12/9-12/15/07, 1/6-2/2/08, 2/24-3/1/08, 3/30-4/21/08 and 8/10-9/27/08 at select Disney Deluxe hotels in standard room.

Save 40% off the non-discounted rate for stays most Sunday through Thursday nights 1/6-2/2/08 or most nights 2/24-3/1/08, 3/30-4/21/08 and 8/10-9/27/08 at select Disney Deluxe Villa resorts in a Studio.
Book now by calling 8846 from your guest room. Ask about rooms at other WDW resort hotels. Offer code CDR.
You must book and pay 1 nights deposit on or before your checkout day.

Finally this one started April 2008 (and could end at any time, probably when FD starts again), the Bounceback is for a room discount incentive to book ahead for: 10/19/08-11/1/08, 11/9/08-11/15/08, 11/30/08-12/13/08.

Value resorts, 20% off most nights 3/30/08-4/21/08; 8/10/08-9/27/08; 10/19/08-11/1/08; 11/9/08-11/15/08; 11/30/08-12/13/08.

Moderate resorts, 30% off most nights 3/30/08-4/21/08; 8/10/08-9/27/08; 10/19/08-11/1/08; 11/9/08-11/15/08; 11/30/08-12/13/08.

Deluxe resorts, 30% off most nights 3/30/08-4/21/08; 8/10/08-9/27/08; 10/19/08-11/1/08; 11/9/08-11/15/08; 11/30/08-12/13/08.

DVC/Deluxe Villa resorts, 40% off most nights 3/30/08-4/21/08; 8/10/08-9/27/08; 10/19/08-11/1/08; 11/9/08-11/15/08; 11/30/08-12/13/08.

Will there be a BB During Free Dining this year? No one knows if they will offer a FD BB again this year during the FD period like they did last year, but it makes sense because it was so popular. Note though that when the Free Dining BB was offered to resort guests last year (guests staying between 8/31-10/12/07) there was NO other BB offered - no room discounts, etc., just the ability to book a FD package a year ahead of time with a $200 deposit down.

Here's a look at the BounceBack offer card that was in our rooms at the YC yesterday...
BBoffer.jpg

Note that the dates only run thru 2008. We'd have called, but we already have rooms for Dec off a pin code we got back in Jan...

I just got back this week at the AKL. The big clock "card" was included in my folder that I received at check-in.

I am hoping that when we go in December there will be a bounce back for next year

Question - if you do book on the spot while you're there (DUH! Why not?) are you able to CHANGE the dates and/or the resort at a later date? (Kind of hard to determine your schedule the next year, ya know?) Or are you locked in???

Thanks!!

Thanks everyone for the information, looks like a hit or miss situation.

I'll be fully prepared if they do offer it, finishing up on my selections and dates for 2009....

No you are not lock in just book it & when you get home & need to change they will if the resort & room type is there.

Maybe I'm missing something, but are there any penalties for booking a bounceback offer as a "just in case we decide to go again" but then need to cancel? Or do the normal cancellation policies apply? And, if we do not have a bounceback card in our room, is there another way to find out about if it is being offered? Or is it just select guests that they offer it to? Is it for packages and room only?

We'll be at POR Aug 10-22 and possibly would book again for next summer if a decent offer is available.

The normal cancellation policies apply - you can book with your $200 package deposit and cancel 46 days in advance and get it back. The offerings change; sometimes it's a package and sometimes it's room-only. Last year, during Free Dining, we were able to book a package with free dining for this Aug/Sept. Since you never know if that offer will be made to the public, it was nice to get it locked in before anyone else.

If you don't get a card or flyer in your room, watch the Resort TV channel for a screen that says something like, "Here's a HOT DEAL! Call #XXXX to book now!" Last year the number was #8844. You have to call and book before you check out. It's available to all guests currently registered at a Disney hotel.

Thanks so much for the explanation! I will definitely keep my eyes open. We have taken a summer disney trip every year for the past 7 years but we're not sure if we can financially swing it next year with the economy the way it is. However, if a bounceback offer is available, it might be worth reserving just in case we decide to go.

Thanks again! Your post was very helpful!

I really hope they offer the October bounceback time frame again! I want to go during the Halloween celebrations (my next holiday of choice to check off my Disney To-Do list). I know we will go regardless, but a code is a great help (and we have yet to get any!).

A pp mentioned that October dates became available for bounceback in April, do these ever come available for December trip-goers?

TIA! :goodvibes

Lisa,

I'm not sure I understand your question. Since you are going this December I'm assuming you want to know whether October dates will be available. I booked my bounceback while I was at WDW last December. At that time, the dates being offered were only through the end of September. I do know that the remaining dates (which included some October dates) for 2008 were added no later than April 8, 2008. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=24349132&postcount=13

No telling what WDW will do in December 2008 but I hope this helps get your planning spirits going.

.

Yes, I too did not receive a flyer.....you MUST ask before you leave property.
Ask for everything your interested in.....who knows what special offer you may receive! :wizard:

What's the extension # this year? We just booked a spur of the moment trip for 8/23-8/25 only because we got r/t airfare for $150.00 for all 3 of us from Texas to Florida.:woohoo: So i'm hoping there's a bounceback for our already planned 12/6-12/13/08 trip later this year. I hope we get a flyer, but if we don't i'd like to try the extensio for the bounceback anyway.
