Booking promblems

Last night I called the 1-800# to book trip for 7/10/04. My husband works for ABC news so he get 50% off any room. When I spoke with the lady she proceded to tell me that EVERYTHING in Disney is book except BW, BC, & YC. I said great we would love to stay at the BW and she said I'm sorry we cant' give you the CM discount. I ask Why and she said the computer just won't let me but, I can book you a room at 289.00 a night. I hung up very upset since we have our airfare and can' t be refunded. I got on my computer to check the disney website and looked in reservations and there were rooms available everywhere!!! So I get back on the phone and call the 407# and I speak to another lady and I tell her my husband is a CM and I would like to book a room in disney preferrably deluxe on 7/10/04 for 8 nights. She looks it up in her computer and she says there's plenty of rooms but they are have not listing any CM rates yet she continues to say it may be to soon to book that far out. OKAY I'm really confused now. I ended up holding a room at the WL for 199.00 a night. My husband will call back today and get everything cleared up. All I have to say is there is alot of confusion with the reservation people. We never had any problems booking a CM rate at any hotel. Sorry this thread is so long.

There have been a couple of times in the past that I was unable to get a CM rate. Like other discounts, there are only a certain number of rooms available. Keep calling every day....something is bound to open up.....

It is possible that all the CM rates for 7/10 are booked. Just b/c you are a CM doesn't mean that there will automatically be a CM discount on the room you requested. Once the blocks of rooms at the resort is booked on a CM rate, they are closed out. I would suggest maybe trying one night at one resort at a CM rate and then attempting to move to another so that you can get the cast rate during your entire stay. It's probably not confusion with "the reservation people", it's probably just no longer available for the dates you requested.

Tracy is correct in that discounted rooms for employees are not always available at the dates you want. If Disney is already booked up except for the resorts you mentioned then I am sure the problem is there are no discounts left for the dates you wanted.
