BOOKING FROM THE SHIP-some questions

Hi!

I am hoping my family likes our 3 night cruise so much that we HAVE to re-book another!! Knowing the power Disney has on all of us, I am sure this will be an easy task (sneaky me!)
I have a few questions though...

1) Is there really a BIG savings if we do this? We will be booking as far in advance as possible. What exactly are the savings like?

2) Can we choose a room at the time of booking, or just a category?

3) Can we book to another DCL ship/itinerary? (eg: from the Wonder to the Magic, or the 3 night to the 7 night?) and still save a lot of $$$?

4) The 7 night will be expensive for the 5 of us, so it will take more than a year to save up. We will be cruising on our 3 night Feb. 2005. If we booked a 7 night for late June 2006, could we transfer our deposit to a 2007 date as long as we did so more than 60 days out? Would we lose any of the benefits of booking from a previous cruise?
(wow-I don't know if I can wait 'till 2007, it almost hurts to write that down! LOL)

5) Am I crazy to be thinking about another DCL cruise when we haven't even left on our first? I know I can safely ask that here ; )

6) I think this may be a silly question... Is a 7 night cruise too long? Will my boys get bored? (2007 ages: 10, 13, & 15)

7) Is there any important question on this topic that I forgot to ask?

Thank You!!

Hi Sue,

No, you are not crazy, (My family & I are doing a 7 night in two months, & I'm already thinking about booking our next cruise while on board) This will be our 2nd Dis cruise.

You will save more money the the farther out you book. (early booking savings). You also get a stateroom credit if you book while you are still on board. ($200.00 for a 7 night.)

I know you can choose a cat., not sure about the room#. I know we found out shortly after we booked what our room # would be. We decided literally at the last minute, (we were disembarking) to rebook. I called the rep from a lobby phone as we were in line waiting to leave. I didn't want to miss the $200.00 credit.

Yes you can book another itinerary.
And yes, you can transfer the dates when they become available.... And lastly, 7 nights is too short as far as I'm concerned...LOL :) Hope this helps, Lisa

Sorry to be so dense but...
I am sailing in Dec. 2004 and want to go again in Dec. 2006. If the Dec. 2006 dates are not avail. I can just rebook for an earlier date and than transfer my ressie to Dec. 2006 when they put those dates out?
If so- this is a dream come true!

It was the best price when I looked prior to the cruise. Plus, I transferred the boking to DU and got another rebate.

You can choose the room.

3) Can we book to another DCL ship/itinerary? (eg: from the Wonder to the Magic, or the 3 night to the 7 night?) and still save a lot of $$$?

You can book anything. I booked a land.sea after our 4 night Wonder trip.

I think you can change dates.

Nope, Im plannong on a Feb 2006 one right now.

6) I think this may be a silly question... Is a 7 night cruise too long? Will my boys get bored? (2007 ages: 10, 13, & 15)

Nope.

We were on a four night - we decided to do a four night because if we had a lousy time, it wasn't a huge investment. On day two we rebooked - for a seven day. You get 10% off a seven day plus a stateroom credit, but just a stateroom credit for the three and four days. We aren't planning to sail until 2006 - those dates weren't out yet, so we are booked to sail in October 2005 and will move to 2006 when the dates are released.

Yes, you can!

Perfect- if the cruise i as good as everyone says I am going to book a 7 nighter on board. I am excited.

Me too Cheapmom. I am already planing to book cruise #2 on our first. Saving up the extra $$$ so I put down the deposit!!!
I am so excited I think I might burst!!!

Is the deposit still $250/person/7 night if you rebook on board? And what is you aren't sure who is going- Can you just pay deposit on 1 or 2 people? ( Not sure if DH will be able to go with DD and I aain due to other plans)

Thanks!!
Laura

I have a question in the same vein. If I book another 7-nighter while on board for us three, can I add a fourth person later if they are undecided about going at the time?

If you book for three and need to add a fourth person later can you do so. Will be the additional person get the same rate as you, or will it be higher if you book the 4th person at a later date?

The stuff I read said the deposit needed to be paid for each person. When we booked however, we were told that $250 would hold the pricing for all four of us. We did put a deposit down for everyone.

Keep in mind that if you try to add another child later, that they may not allow it. Once one of the age groups is full, they do not allow any more kids in that group to book. Adding an adult should never be a problem, as long as your stateroom can sleep everyone on your reservation.

I rebooked while on board for the 10% discount and 200 stateroom credit. When I got home I transfered my booking to www.cruisetraveloutlet.com for an additonal 7% savings. The 7% is off the cruise price only. So we saved an additonal $150.00. We booked cat 11 for 2 adults and a child. We have stayed in both cat 11 and cat 7. For the price differance we perfer cat 11. We did not use the baloney that much.
