It varies. If you booked a confirmed (existing) reservation as opposed to a new reservation, it can take a while. If you booked a brand new reservation, it shouldn't take more than a day or two.

That's because confirmed reservations have other names attached and the owner must contact member services to make the change. That can take several days for member service to get around to accomplishing the change. Until then, you won't get a confirmation because you will not be able to link it to your own MDE without the matching names.

Now, if you only put in a request and have not actually booked/paid for a reservation, that would be dependent on a variety of factors and could take weeks or even months.

FWIW, member services prioritizes changes based on arrival time. I recently sold a confirmed reservation that was under my name. It was a last-minute change and I used the chat function to contact member services. They did the name change immediately and I was able to send the confirmation to the renter within a few hours.

Hopefully, the owner of your reservation is on top of things and got the change request in already. They have a vested interest in getting it done fast because if they don't, they won't get paid and they could lose their points as well.

Exactly what i was thinking. Thanks again

When I’ve changed names on rental reservations I’ve just called member services and they do it immediately over the phone. For me the delay is receiving the confirmation email with the new names. This can take hours to days to receive and sometimes it just never comes at all. I’d give your rental agent a call to see when you can expect to hear back.

Are you waiting for an email from DVC store or from Disney proper? If you have not gotten anything from the DVC store, I would contact them. If you are waiting on a confirmation from Disney, I am not sure the confirmation gets sent to the lead guest on the new reservation (you) or if it still gets sent to the owner of the points. When I have booked for family and friends, even though I put them as the lead guest, I still get the confirmation email. If the dvc store has given you reservation number, just try to add that reservation with your last name into your MDE. If the change has been processed and you see the reservation and you can assign the all the guests in your MDE, if it does not show, then the reservation has not been transferred.

Dvc store. They say they've asked him to transfer the reservation into my name.I've been on them everyday and they've said he should want to make sure to transfer the reservation asap otherwise he'd be out the money.

Do what you're doing and keep pushing them twice a day to keep pushing the Owner everyday to make the change on the reservation until actually completed. It shouldn't take long for them to get it done.
