Booked at AKV always?????

When you call 11 months from each day of your vacation you tell MS on your initial call you will be calling each day and to leave the reservation open until all your days are booked. this will keep your reservation under one confirmation number.

Thanks, I may have to do that. Our trip in July will have a Aug 1 checkout date which puts our 11 month window on Sept 1 and we will be on another vacation then. Wasn't looking forward to having to remember to call Disney while trying to enjoy the beach!! Now I can book most of it and then if I forget, I can chance the last day or two only. Thanks again.

It is those of use who need to book at VAK 7 months that are worried!

Unfortunately, it isn't a joke to some of us. I tried to book an AKV studio concierge the very first moment we could book for December 1 and at 9:08 am they put me on the wait list to get it. That was more than 2 months ago and I'm still waiting.

11 month booking window is NOT a guarantee. There's another thread right now about someone who was booking a Grand Villa day by day at 11 months and is still missing the middle day of the trip because the units were all booked within minutes of the 11 month day they were released.

EEEK - I would hope not as well. We will need a two bedroom next October (08) and I'm already praying that if I call day by day at 11 months we will get it.

Thank you all for the responses - I'd forgotten about everyone using developer points! I also agree it should be easier once AKL is complete. Hopefully he'll still want to buy in!

The developer points will have an effect, but directly they can not be the cause of no availabilty for any date from March 20th on. They carry the 7 month booking so no one has booked a room for April or May with developer points, yet!

Didn't DVC just extend all of the developer points from 7 to 12 months? And with the new Doorway promotion, some are getting dream dollars and up to double developer points. This could have a definite effect.

I can't speak for add-on's, but for new members we were told if we took the double developer points we could only book 7 months out, but that they would be good for one year. We ended up taking the small discount on points.

extended yes, but that has zero effect on booking windows.

the points are good for 12 months but carry a 7 month booking window for any resort

so it doesnt matter if people get the entire contract for free with quadruple developer points and if DVC said the points are good for 50 years. Those developer points will have NO direct effect on any ressies over 7 months out from today. Its an impossability

You don't need separate pin codes. Can't you share? Other than the vacation count down, the information is the same for both of you.

We actually have two different numbers that our accounts end in - his is a 2 and mine is a 1, so it was two different codes. I ended up calling MS and getting my pin code, so now I'm in on my own.

Wow. I have a work meeting coming up next April and we have extra points, so I called on a whim to see if there was a concierge studio available at AKV for April 16-21 and there WAS. I guess we're going now in March with family (2 bedroom savanna view) and then again a month later just DH and me.
