Yipppeee! I was so, so happy to finally be at MK! You'll be there in 2 weeks!!!

We LOVED Splash! I'm sad it's going to be down in January! DH is a wimp! I was tempted to start clucking like a chicken and do a little chicken dance! He gets motion sick but I really don't think splash would have bothered him! Oh Well, his loss!

We love POTC!! Our pirates wait may have been a reoccuring theme during the trip...

We really LOVED splash! I'm not a big fan of getting wet either, that's one of the reasons I've only done Kali once or twice.I don't want to walk around wet all day. But splash was great!!

I love the candy store for that exact reason! It reminds me of Willy Wonka! That was one of favorite books and movies when I was kid!

Some of know that Wednesday was DS Johnny's b-day! He turned 7! I can't believe that he's 7 already! Good god, where did the time go?! It really seems like just yesterday he was my chubby, happy little baby! Now he's getting so grown up!! Not chubby, still happy!

He was my suprise baby. A really big suprise!! But such a wonderful suprise! He is an absolutely wonderful kid. He brings happiness and light into the life of everyone he meets. He's always happy, always smiling and laughing. He's got the biggest and best imagination in the world! He gives the best hugs in the world! I tell him every night when I kiss him goodnight that he's my angel here on earth. He really, truly is.

Anyway, we had his favorite dinner, roast beef and homemade mac & cheese, at home on Wednesday with Grandma and Grandpa. He had a great time and got lots of good presents!

Soooo excited about his gifts...



He got a skateboard! Just what he asked for and I had a hard time bringing myself to buy...

Yesterday he had his party with his friends at an indoor pool! They had a blast!!!!

Ryan wanted nothing to do with getting in the pool with the big kids but had a blast throwing them pool rings and things!

They really had a great time!! He got a lot of great gifts too! He has very generous friends! My favorite gift was a gift certificate for 2 kids tickets to the movies and money for popcorn!! What a great gift idea!! He can't wait to use it!!

Anyway, a new TR update will be coming soon! I need to get this baby moving because I really hope to be done before our Jan. trip!​

I love how your DD described Splash Mtn, "The best ride in the whole world". Wow.....what a great description. I remember having a similar feeling the first time I read it. He's such a happy kid! When he was a baby he very rarely cried! Incredible! Of course, I told him that when Ryan was a baby and he used to go over to Ryan when he was crying and say"Ryan, you know, when I was baby I never, never cried..." It was too funny!!!

We had a wonderful afternoon at MK!! DD is too funny! She was soooo nervous going in! I think she was actually biting her nails! But she had blast! We all did!! It's definitely on the top of my most do's now! Of course, it's down in Jan..

Thanks! he had a great day! He wanted chocolatee cake with chocolate icing that Mommy had to make! No store bought cake! The batman thingy on it was an after thought!

I laughed out loud at the pic of Ryan with no pants on - Henry INSISTS on wearing pants, he cries if I don't put them on fast enough. Today I had to change a pair of his because the first ones were HUGE, and I just left him half naked while I searched for a pair that would fit - he started to meltdown.

What a loooooooooong wait at MCO. Ick! But, thankfully you didn't have a long wait in line, and another long wait on the bus.

And you are already in MK! I love the way you started the trip....sweets! Glad to read you all enjoyed Splash. I'm certain that will be a favorite of Henry's down the road as well - I haven't ridden it since '06 so I can't remember it at all.

Brooklynn is fascinated with Tiana, as well. I think she's trying hard to process that there is really a new princess. That's new for all of us, and how cool it is that our little ones can be in on the very beginning of her existence!

The girl and the dress are very pretty. We are looking forward to seeing the show when we are there. We'll have to find just the right spot to be able to hear some of the beginning and then see the boat, because from what I've read, you really can't get the best of seeing both of those from one spot.

I wrote a 'Happy Birthday to Johnny' last night, but I must not have hit the final submit or it disappeared into cyberspace, because I don't see it. So, later than origially late, Happy Birthday, Johnny! Hope you have a wonderful year ahead!!!

I don't know what the deal is with no pants!! It's crazy! You used to be able to follow a path on the floor when Johnny came home. Jacket, shoes, socks, pants, Johnny. He's much better now though, I've convinced him that he should remain fully clothed and that I don't really need to see his underwear Ryan is very insistant on wearing shoes. He'd wear them to bed if he could!

What a loooooooooong wait at MCO. Ick! But, thankfully you didn't have a long wait in line, and another long wait on the bus.

That wait was crazy! I was definitely thankful we didn't have to wait on that huge line at the counter too!

I'm kinda happy DD loves Tiana so much. She's pretty much outgrown the princess thing but Tiana has her all excited! She insisted that she had to use some of her money to buy Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen!! She's been playing with them too!

I left off with us being called into CP. Like I had mentioned in my last update Ryan was asleep when the big kids and I came off of Splash. He slept through our wait and woke up when I took him out the stroller. He didn’t seem that happy to have be woken!

We went into a virtually empty CP and were seated. It kind of surprised me that it was so empty when there were so many people waiting outside! Do they seat according to specific seating times?! Not sure.

Our waitress came by and took our drink order and DD and I were soon off to the buffet. DH and always take turns. I go first and get food for Ryan and myself and one of the big kiddos comes with me. DH goes second and takes one of the big kiddos. It usually works out well for us!

I got Ryan some mac and cheese and watermelon and a few things for me and returned to the table with DD. DH and DS were on their way!

Ryan wasn’t feeling CP too much. I don’t think he would have been too into anything at that point. His hair was soaked with sweat and he was just generally not happy that he’d been woken up.

You guys remember me thinking how happy he was going to be to see Pooh?! Sigh!

The characters soon started circulating the room!

Eeyore came first!



Ryan wasn’t into it at all. Sniff, sniff! But, he was certainly happy to eat his watermelon though!




Next came Pooh!! The yummy watermelon seemed to be doing the trick and Ryan warmed up a little! The kiddos posed for a picture with him



And then he gave Ryan a sweet kiss on the top of the head!



Next was Piglet! Thanks to an abundant, and I do mean abundant, amount of watermelon Ryan was feeling a lot better by then and enjoyed Piglet a lot more!


You can tell by this picture that Johnny had been eating watermelon too! It's all over his face!

Soon after Piglet was the parade and celebration! A birthday cupcake and card for Johnny soon arrived, much to his delight!



Then we were visited by Tigger!



As the meal started to wind down and we had been visited by all the characters we were visited by a CM with what looked like a computer clipboard kind of thing. He asked us our name and our party size.

It kind of made me a little nervous.

Had we done something wrong?! Was there a problem?!

It turns out that they were rolling out a new computer system for checking in and seating that day and our reservation had been a glitch. Even though we had checked in and had been seated our reservation was marked as not having been seated and there was a CM outside calling our name! Ummm, we were done with our meal at that point.


Our waitress returned a second after the CM with the computer clipboard thingy left and inquired if there was a problem. I explained to her what had happened and she laughed. She then went on to comment on how they should leave systems that are working fine alone and then proceeded to have a whole political discussion with DH about President Obama’s health care plans. I won’t go into details and I’ll stay out of the politics of it all. But that conversation kind of shocked me.

Really, she was lucky that DH had the same views as her. I mentioned to DH after she left that if she didn’t watch it she’s end up fired. If she had said the same things to a different person they might complain.

We soon settled our bill and left. Cranky baby, glitches in the system and political discussions aside we had a very nice meal as usual!

I find that Disney buffet food is what it is, if you know what I mean.

It's good, definitely not gourmet, but acceptable and passable. If I wanted a better meal I wouldn’t got to a Disney buffet, Boma aside. But it’s enjoyable and as a wise Diser has said (You know who you are, triple p) some meals are more about the experience then the food.

We were soon on our way out to enjoy more WDW fun! But first a required picture



We decided to head to



To ride Buzz!! I figured we would need fastpasses but was pleasantly surprised to find that standby was 10 minutes and the FP machines were bagged!

We basically walked on and were on our way to fight Zurg! DH took Ryan and DD and I took Johnny!

Let me tell you, Johnny got 800,410 points!!!! I kid you not! I tried to take a picture of the score but it didn’t come out! He was soooo excited!!!! That’s a family record! WOW! WOW! WOW!

On our way out we had to stop to take this picture…




After our amazing ride on Buzz the kids decided they wanted to ride the Speedway. I warned them on the way over that for some reason the wait is often long. But I was wrong again. We waited maybe 5 minutes and were soon getting into our cars. We had the same arrangement as Buzz, DH with Ryan and DD, DD was the driver, Johnny with me. He didn’t want to drive!

For some reason I thought the car was much easier to drive then in the past. I remember the cars being very hard to steer in the past. This was the case this time. I didn’t go around the course bouncing of the rail!

After our championship drive around the track it was off to Ryan’s favorite ride! Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh! Another ride that was almost a walk on, we waited maybe 5 minutes!

I did stop to take this picture though...



and I tried to take a few pictures inside but they didn't come out! This one came out the best...



After our Adventure with Pooh and me basically running through the drop shop we decided it was time to call it an early night and get back to SSR to put our feet up! The park closed at 7 that night anyway due to MNSSHP and I didn’t want to get caught in the masses of people leaving who didn’t have tickets!

On the way out I called SSR to get our room number and we were soon at the bus stop.

We soon found ourselves entering the SSR gate! We were in The Springs section. For those of you who don’t know SSR it’s HUGE and sprawling. There are 5 different sections, each with its own bus stop.

The Springs in the closest section to The Carriage House where the actual lobby and Artist Palette (QS and shop) are and it’s also the last bus stop. It was great when we were leaving to go to the parks because we got on the bus and were off to our destination. On the way back the ride seemed a little long a few times!

But we were soon at The Springs and on our way to find our room! We were in room 3525, I think. It was on the first floor and was right at what would be the main entrance to the building. It was a fully accessible room which made it look a little different then the rooms I has seen pictures of! But it was big and beautiful and we had a beautiful view of the fountain!

I most apologize, I didn’t get to take any room pictures! Sorry!

DH called for the luggage and DD and I decided to find our way to Artist Palette to pick a few things like milk and snacks.

Then it was time for relaxing! The kiddos decided to put on a movie and pop some popcorn.

You know what I did?

Come on, you know!!!

I headed for the Jacuzzi tub!! AHHHHHHH!!! Know I’ve mentioned this but when we built our house DH and FIL, who designed the house, nixed my want for a Jacuzzi tub! Now I reallllllllly want one!!! What a lovely way to end a day!

While I was in the tub DH and the kids set up the pull out bed and put their pj’s on! Who would have thought? At home that NEVER would have happened! Happy vacation to me!

I set up the pack and play for Ryan and we were all soon asleep with wonderful dreams of our next day in our heads.

Awesome update Melissa. i can't believe you didn't take any pictures of the room at SSR!!! i'm appalled! That's crazy about the mixup with the check-in system at CP, lucky you actually did get in and seated!! Imagine if you'd waited allllll that extra time outside?!? i agree about the waitress, too - she'd better be ccareful about with whom she has that kind of conversation.
