I made an ADR for Boma for our upcoming trip in June after reading all of the rave reviews people have had about dining there. My question is--I was looking at the menu and it seems like they have pretty exotic sounding foods. My DH and I are the pretty non-adventurous type when it comes to food and we also have a very picky DD6 and DS4. So do you think we should keep the ADR or find somewhere with more normal foods? thanks!

I really wouldn't worry about eating at Boma. It isn't as exotic or adventurous as you may think. In fact, we were disappointed with Boma as we are fans of Ethiopian and Moroccan cuisines and felt the food was rather tame. Meat dishes included prime rib, salmon and chicken dishes with some spices on it. Vegetarian selections included couscous, fufu (mashed tubers) and vegetable curry. The soups, breads, and salads were along the same lines. Think American food with some African influence with a few authentic dishes. Give it a shot - I am sure everyone in the family would find something they will like!

I am not adventurouse at all. I'm basically a chicken and pasta kind of guy. But I love Boma, its great. Especially, the soups.

DH is a very meat and potato kind of man. He didn't even want to try Boma. After a year or two I talked him into it and now it is one of his favorites.

I love spicy and ethnic foods and Boma just didnt fit the bill for us. I found the food very bland indeed.

All the way over to the right is a carving station where they have sliced steak and roasted taters. Mix that with a salad and it is a very 'normal' meal. There is also a kids cart that, yes, adults are welcome to pick from with mac and cheese and french fries and chicken nuggets. You can start a base plate, then get an additional plate for sampling. We did a couple of sampling plates for our table and ended up going for more :) Sample the deserts too.

Boma was GREAT. We did have one person with us that took one look and decided not to eat. He never made it to the end where the carving station was. So we made him the normal plate. He ate well, but refused to sample.

Boma has very easy foods as well as more adventurous offerings. It's definitely a 'not to be missed' eating experience at WDW. Amongst our faves from our trip...

We enjoy Boma as well. If you just look at the food and not what it is called then it is probably better. They do give odd names to some of the dishes but usually it is normal items with different seasonings.

I have to agree with all these posters. We are not adventureous at all with food. And I've taken lots and lots of people to Boma and not one of them has been disappointed. I've taken vegetarians and carnivores. I've taken kids, teenagers, older people. We have all rolled out of there. I wouldn't pass it up based on the descriptions. One hint we were told our first time there. All the salad dressings sounds weird. But combine two of them together and it's great. I have to say I agree 100% and so does my very picky son.

Another suggestion - get a dessert every time you go up to the buffet. That way, you won't be too stuffed at the end to enjoy. Zebra domes - yumm!

My DF is really picky and doesn't like anything adventureous. However, he had a plate full of food at Boma and loved it! He got prime rib, some kind of pasta, bread, chicken, and a couple desserts.

I am a very picky eater. EXTREMELY!!! I tried Boma and found lots to eat and knew I could try other things if I was feeling adventurous! I have gone back numerous times-it is always a must! Especially for the desserts!!!!
