Dru Sjodin, the University of North Dakota student who disappeared last November, has been found, authorities said Saturday.

Sheriff Mark LeTexier sobbed as he told volunteers, "Dru is home." He would not immediately elaborate, though Sjodin has been presumed dead.

Volunteers had joined the search for the 22-year-old student on Saturday.

LeTexier said he would give details later.

As horrible as this is I hope it at least brings closure for the family. My thought and prayers are with them. As a parent I think the only fear greater than losing a child is having a child missing and wondering if she is hurt, scared etc.

Microcell,
You're right, of course, but grouping the one who did this to her with "people" is more than they deserve........... this isn't a 'people' who did this- this is an animal.

:(

More like a MONSTER!

I hope Dru's parents have a bit of closure. I doubt it, though. I can't even imagine how they are feeling.

This man that the authorities assume did this to her (not convicted yet , but his knife had Dru's blood on it) had served 23 years in prison for several rapes.

WHY are these monsters set free?

I just saw the news

I'm sorry but this just.....stinks. This has been quite an ordeal here and unfortunately it didn't end in the way we would have hoped.
:(

I am glad that they found her body...as sad as this all is, having that gives some sort of closure. I can't imagine the agony of never knowing what happened to your daughter.

That guy better go to jail for life.

That was a very sad newscast. You could see tears in the eyes of the reporters.
But, thank God that they did find her body. Hopefully, finding her will provide more evidence. I have no doubt that her family and friends would have searched for however long it took. They were out there searching in some pretty bad weather and would not have given up. Even though it's ahorrible outcome, in my mind, it would be worse to keep searching and never find her.
And, thank God that it was the police who reportedly were the ones to find her body. The newscast said that her father had apparently actually been within a few yards of the area on a previous search. I can't begin to imagine the horror of that.

Prayers for her family and loved ones.

:( A very sad story indeed. I hope that her family find some kind of comfort with her body being found.
