the thread here on lingering in the Park after closing time made me wonder, exactly how long do the boats and Monorail run back to Trans and Tick. center after official closing time? I mean if stores on Main st. stay open an hour, and people hang out after that, don't you run the risk of being stuck?

I don't recall ever reading anything about people ever getting stuck in the park. Also WDW would probably make arrangements to help those people get where they had to go. I think that the boats stop running a hour after the park closes and I don't remember about the monorail, but it is usually pretty late.

I'm pretty sure the "Local Monorail" (for Disney Resort Guests - the inner track) runs pretty late -- gotta get people back to the Polynesian, Contemporary & Grand Floridian......from whatever their evening activity might be.

I think I read where the "Express Monorail" (for everyone else - the outer track) runs for 2 hours after park closing. I'm not 100% certain about that though.

You might want to post this on the "Transportation" board. There's an ex-transportation CM who posts over there all the time. I think his handle is Chip'NDaleExpress. He has a plethora of monorail information.

I know. We tried!

We had a late PS in Epcot back in 2002. We finished up dinner at around 11PM. The park was empty. We needed to get back to GF. As we walked from WS to FW, we saw the monorail going the wrong direction - they were reversing it to take it off the tracks. If ever you could get stuck, we would have here.

Instead, they brought a bus up just for us to get us back to the GF. The bus driver explained that this is standard practice. They actually keep track of late people in the restaurants and stores, and have cast members ready to help you get home until the last ones are out. The will get you to any disney resort, or to any parking lot on the property at the end of the night.
