The pool at the BCV is probably the best pool on Disney property. The area is controlled so you must stay at the resort to use the pool. It has a great water slide.
As far as BWV, the boardwalk area is a great night spot or place to eat. Both are extremely popular.
I think I said this upthread, my kids didn't really like SAB - and they didn't like the waterslide at all.
SAB is one of those places that if you are going to take a look at it objectively - you are going to say "that is one GREAT pool" - but in the end there is no accounting for taste - and my kids have unaccountable taste. However, some objective "problems" with SAB:
1) It IS hard to watch your kids. If you want to sit in a lawn chair and keep an eye on them, its difficult.
2) Slide entrance is outside the main pool entrance. A lot of parents find this really uncomfortable. And I didn't understand what the big deal was until my daughter's friends started hitting puberty. She hasn't yet. Yeah, I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be either if it were my very young developing daughter on the public path along the lake going to the pool slide in her swimsuit. (To make it worse, the SAB area itself gets a lot of foot traffic - the pool is fenced off, but the slide entrance isn't and there are a lot of people who walk by going to the Marina or the Y&BC restaurants or just walking along the lake. Yet not so many people that you get the comfort of a crowd.)
3) Pool is a long way from the Villas themselves - and through the BC lobby. Bring a coverup! (I didn't and now own a Disney one - I just wasn't walking through that lobby in my swimsuit).
However, its large, has a lazy river, has a LONG waterslide with a tunnel, has a sand bottom, has the swirling waters area (my kids favorite), has the B&C takeout window right there, and has zero entry, it also has a slide appropriate for younger kids. Its also beautifully landscaped.
