Boardwalk to Go Kiosk

Last March, we stopped at the "Boardwalk to Go" kiosk to get a quick dinner. If memory serves, it seems we got hot dog and corn dog baskets, and then ate at one of the tables on the boardwalk railing by the kiosk. However, if I wanted to get orders for my family and haul it back to my room, (I'll be staying at the BCV), I'm wondering if they would pack it in a form better suited for traveling (that is, in bags or styrofoam containers as opposed to the open-topped plastic baskets). Has anybody picked up a family (5) sized order of food there and hauled it back to their room without too much trouble?

Also, depending on the unpredictability of air travel, we may be getting in fairly late. Does anyone know how late the kiosk stays open?

Thanks! :earsboy:

SamR, I don't know about the package part, but the kiosk was always still open when we returned from Illuminations at about 9:30. We always stay at the Boardwalk, and it seem the CM's there will bend over backways to help you out. They used to have some pretty sturdy pizza boxes at the Spoodles pizza window, so maybe pizza is a option too.

Thanks, Lisa. Depending on how late it is, we may try to get into the ESPN club since they don't require (or even take) priority seatings. If the kids are too cranky after the flight, or the ESPN club too busy, I think I'll give "Boardwalk to Go" a try on a big takeout order. :earsboy:

Another option might be the sandwiches from the Boardwalk Bakery. We stumbled on these during a thunderstorm last April. Wanted something I could take back to our room without having to worry what the rain might do to it. You get a large sandwich with deli-style roast beef, turkey, chicken salad or "Italian". It includes fruit, chips, lettuce, tomato & pickle spear. All this for $6.50--a pretty good deal at WDW. I would think they'd be available until closing, but couldn't say for sure.

Thanks, BadgerBruce. That sounds like another good possibility to keep in mind. It should make for an easy to transport meal, and there would be no need to hurry back to avoid the food getting cold (since it wouldn't be hot to begin with.) :earsboy:

The only bad thing about the Boardwalk to Go Kiosk is they don't take room charges. We don't carry much cash around at WDW.

I had a great corndog. We ate there one night when it rained. We carried it back to our room at BC. We were in our room in less than 5 minutes.
