Boardwalk for preschoolers?

Hi.

We're heading to BCV in May. We're travelling with a 2 1/2, 3 1/2 and a 5 yo. (and four adults). I know that there's lots of things to do for adults and older children but, any suggestions on things to do on the Boardwalk that would be special for the kids?

The surrey bikes are fun for the little guys, but they won't be tall enough to peddle.

They have face painting that my daughter always enjoys.

There are a couple of carnival style games.

Ice cream/candy shop is always a hit.

There is also a large grassy area that kids tend to congregate at - running, chasing, playing, etc.

... the big attraction for preschoolers is THE BEACH! Hours and hours of sand-play.

We like it best in the evening, when Mom & Dad can lounge back on a chair and chat, and watch the lights twinkle on the Boardwalk while the little ones frolic around your feet. Libations from Stormalong Bay's pool bar are only steps away.

Last year my family witnessed the coolest thing on the BW. A band of musicans dressed like old time baseball players were playing tunes on the BW. The typical circle of people formed to watch and listen, spontaneously several toddlers wandered into the middle of the circle and started dancing. It was so sweet! The band members really got into it and danced with them a bit, knealt down and played their instruments at the kids level and let them touch their instruments. Everyone there knew it was a special moment for that group of little ones!

Also, the kiddie pool area at Luna park should be great for your kids and there is a playground there too. I'm sure they will like the clown/circus theme, it is very bright.

One last thing, you can buy juice boxes and pretzels at the pool bar, might come in handy. Also kiddie meal, like hot dog or PBJ with chips.

It is a great resort, have fun!

hi: i agree the entertainers at night (jugglers,magicians,etc) really do seem to play to the little ones a bit more.
