what is the quickest way to get to the Boardwalk Bakery from the Polynesian. we have a car as well so that is an option. We just need to pick something up there and then head back to MK or Poly.

I would say monorail over to Epcot and cut through, exiting at the International entrance and its a quick walk over to the bakery.

I always use Dis trans when at WDW, so I don't know how much faster a car ride would be...

Drive the car or take a cab.

Otherwise, the absolute quickest way is to take a bus to Hollywood Studios and walk from there to Boardwalk. This is much shorter than cutting through Epcot and you do not need to enter a park to do it. If you take the boat, it'll take a good bit longer.

A car ride is about 20 minutes. 40 minutes round trip approx.

To take the bus to HS the ride is about 20 minutes, but you have to add in wait time for the bus - anywhere from 1-15 minutes. Then you have to walk which is about another 10 minutes at a decent pace. This will be anywhere from 60 - 90 minutes round trip.
