BlueZoo Restaurant.com Gift Certificates

Thank you - I did not catch that. Looks like I will be gifting a few or if they don't expire - just keeping. Thanks for that. Can I gift it at this point if I choose to?

You can gift it or have another person in your party present the certificate. I really don't think they would deny it especially if they don't know you personally.

I wonder how they would know if you visited more than once per month. I had given gcs to a couple of friends and they visited the restaurant in the same month and the gcs were accepted. The restaurant just calls in the certificate number to get verification and we have never been asked for our name when the waitstaff processes it. Locally, we don't use a certificate more than once per month but that just goes along with our typical pattern of dining out...

I think when you order the certificate and you put your details for the transaction it tracks it. I am not sure how they do it though, but I would assume they have something in place to enforce it. Unless you ordered two (and used them) in two different names - I don't mean pretending to be someone else :lmao: but for example if you ordered one and say you had a friend who ordered one and you were both eating there together twice, you would have to put the ressie (if applicable) and "pay" with the voucher one time each.

Thanks! As you can see, I also have problems with my non US address :rotfl2: and they also told me to use theirs but then the offer was gone and I forgot about it. I want to get some certificates for my boss who is going with his family in a couple of weeks.

There are some restaurants that would really appeal to them on this list. :)

It was a very funny conversation. I phoned thinking there must be a way. So I said I'm trying to pay for my coupons and I can't because of my Canadian billing address and he says, "we don't have coupons for Canadian restaurants".

I bit my tongue :rotfl2: not to shoot down the poor guy with sarcasm. It was a hard bite. :goodvibes

And then he says "oh, okay. Of course you can pay from Canada" like we're finished with the conversation.

So I go through again and explain my province isn't on the pop up and the postal code certainly won't read.

"Oh, I get it - give me a few minutes".

I guess you had to be there but it was cute. Good luck 2tiggies.

Okay, worth a try. Athough three times at HOB in ten days might be a stretch. :rolleyes1 Thank you so much. :goodvibes If not - more Disney trips - so sad, isn't it? :lmao: ;)

I'm still smiling over this find!

I think Lisaviolet should visit HOB more than once and see if she can use the certificates and then let us know :) if it worked! I can't see the restaurant denying it as it does bring in business and they must get some kind of kickback from restaurant.com. Another person in the party can present it and say it was a gift!!

Oh yeah put me on the ledge. :lmao:;) For you, I should do it. You've made my day - possibly week by posting this for us! :surfweb:

The person I am going with would give a try in a heartbeat. Me, I have a silly, overactive, and ridiculous conscience. Unfortunately. popcorn::

Well if you have more than just one other person going with you, you could give two people a gift certificate and let them each have a try. That way you could do right by reporting back to us ;) without engaging in any dubious (or even perfectly acceptable) activity at all :rolleyes1

Just two people - December. But maybe I'll grab a third stranger-preferably cute - just for fun! ;)

And stop with the perfectly acceptable ;) - I did use ridiculous to describe my thinking. I forgot annoying.

Funny :lmao:!! I really don't think there would be a problem as I give out gcs as gifts all the time (great little/big thank-yous for only $3) and no one has ever been denied and I always use my own info when ordering.

The last I knew bluezoo and shula's WOULD NOT accept any coupon that was a home printed document. You folks need to check this out.

Most of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants are now NEW to Restaurant.com. The only way to acquire a certificate from Restaurant.com is to print it out at home.

I hope you're right but within the past year I had a coupon from an Orlando renowned local web site that they (Shula's) subscribed to and they would not accept a home printed coupon. Hope you're right and I'll keep watching for the outcome but I wouldn't get my hopes too high just in case...

Thanks for your concern. It is the restaurant that contracts with Restaurant.com - here is the link: http://www.restaurant.com/microsite.asp?rid=381418&mcn=00085591

I don't get this. Mainly the vibe. Did you buy the coupon? I'm not being sarcastic. Because this is not a coupon - it's a monetary certificate for the restaurant -you are buying the money off at this exact restaurant. It's just low because of the promotion this weekend.

Hey Lisaviolet - I just realized I'll be at the World twice before you go in December. I have sent the Kimonos certificates on to my DD and she will surely use them before I visit in August. If there are any problems (which I have never experienced locally and throughout California), I will let you know. Swan/Dolphin and their excellent restaurants are being highlighted on the Restaurant.com site throughout each day - that is how I first noticed bluezoo - it caught my eye as I was looking to see if TGIF was participating, sadly, they are not.

No, no it was a free site that local restaurants subscribe to be on for the advertising, offering various information and incentives for the restaurants. Shula's offered 20% off but wouldn't accept home generated copies, which was, like this, the only way to get the coupon. The manager at Shula's told me point blank "we do not accept any home printed coupon" ... Now hopefully Restaurants.com is more reputable and will back up their coupons due to the monetary exchange, it seems only logical. I was just sharing my experience and I hope this works out.

Because you have never used a Restaurant.com certificate, I can appreciate your concern. All establishments have the phone number to call to verify the certificate and at that time it is processed. A certificate can only be used once. Also, Shula's surely has a computer where they can go onto the Restaurant.com website to verify that they are newly participating members (the manager should have looked up your 20% coupon in this manner). NEW restaurants on the site have always been pleased to see that the certificates were not only being found but also being purchased and used!!

ok.

I've used certificates from Restaurant.com for at least close to two years now and they work great.Just make sure you read all the restaurant requirements and you should be OK.In Orlando I've used the coupons at House of Blues,BB Kings Blues Club and Adobe Gilas and I recently picked one up for Garden Grove in the Swan. The way the certificates work is you present them as you sit and they usually take them to call and verify your certificate is good or that you haven't used another one in their restaurant within a month. If in the unlikely scenario the restaurant has been sold and no longer accepts them don't worry, just call restaurant.com and they'll give you credit for another certificate. The first time I bought these they had the discount code at 90% so a $25 certificate was $1,I think I stocked up with like 8 of them.

Wonderful. Thank you for the information. :goodvibes Appreciate it.

I suspected that's how they check. Makes sense. I guess when guests have used it at the same place/same month the server just didn't phone right away. It's weird though because they suggest gifting them - you can't exactly say to your recipient "here's a gift - I have one too for that restaurant - as does Keisha - and the babysitter - so don't go in May, okay?" :lmao:;). I guess mulitple restaurants for yourself and gifting are a better bet. ;)

It's no big deal. I only have a few multiples and many WDW trips to plan.
