Blue Sky Rumor: Ride coming to UK Pavilion?

I'd love to see a rotating museum type exhibit set up in the UK pavilion of like great British icons...You could do Dr. Who for a year or two, then the Beatles, then something on Downtown Abbey or the Monarchy, or on Castles, or Stonehenge...There are just so many things that could be rotated through that would draw folks in.
I like this idea. Look at all the stuff they have for sale in the connected gift shops. Give some background on it for those unfamiliar. I'm not sure of what became of Christopher Robins room where the meet and greet was, but they certainly could put in something there, thereby making the exit door lead into the dump shop of items it was talking about.

Personally I think each country needs at least a ride or video in addition to its outdoor entertainment and KidCot stations. I would also like for each to have a rotating M&G of new and rare characters. Doesn't need a fancy "house" like Anna and Elsa. How they operate alice and Mary at U.K. Works fine.
Here's what is there now:
Mexico: ride
Norway: ride
China: video
Germany: nothing
Italy: nothing
America: video
Morocco: nothing
France: nothing
UK: nothing
Canada: video

France has a movie.

I'm not sure I'm interpreting this as you meant it, but are you thinking that the World Showplace, formerly the Millennium Village, is seldom used?

The flexible membrane covering of the complex should be removed because the interior space is really showing it's age due to constant use over the past 17 years. Hopefully it will be replaced by a larger permanent type structure.

It's used for conventions out of the yacht club command center...that's why it's still there.

That's money they won't give up

Correct. Although I do love going inside the gallery on the left as you enter the pavilion; it's nice and cool inside and they have interesting exhibits on display. I'd love if they also had a movie.
They have some great restaurants too. I had the best meal of our trip in Feb at Spice Road Table.

My apologies. I was trying to run through in my head and haven't actually seen this one.

There is much more than a video at AA.

Ok there's a video with a couple animatronics.

While i do agree with that. I think it could be much more.

That's correct, it does host YC convention events, but that's a tiny part of the overall usage, so no, that's not why it's there. It's the center piece of park event operations. I can't put a number on how many large events are held there every year, but it's many more than most people would think. The large park event operations department is based inside one of the attached buildings. Epcot catering which supplies food for catered events at DHS, Epcot and AK, including most of the festival food is housed there as well. I think because it's usually hidden by the large brown gates, it's the out of sight, out of mind thing.

So you're not saying to get rid of it. That would make me and many other people very sad.

But now this is a choice...not a restriction. What kind of options for international flights were even around in the 80's?

I just looked online, I tried to think of "middle of America" so I chose Lincoln Nebraska and decided to look at March 29th travel dates. You can fly from Lincoln to Paris for $573 per person and then fly back a week later for $641. $1214 per person round trip. Through AirBnB you can stay right in Paris for $52 dollars a night.

So not accounting for food or other entertainment, a couple can travel from Lincoln, Nebraska, stay in Paris for a week, and fly back for less than $3,000.

Listen, I was born in 1990, so I can only go by the data I can find online. I found an article that stated:

I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, I'm just trying to show why I have the position I do.

Well, you made my point for me. The average family of four can't afford $5,000 in plane tickets - even one time. Most folks will not be traveling to Europe anytime soon.

You're missing my point. We weren't talking about families. We weren't even really talking about affordability, though today it is cheaper. We were talking about how the world has gotten smaller. We were talking about the feasibility for a person to take a trip to Europe today compared to the 1980s.

The sole fact that one can fly from Lincoln, NE to Paris shows that.
