Crazy Busy This Evening

How bad was the heat when you left? Whenever we go first thing with the intention to leave early, we end up staying longer than expected.
We stayed longer than we expected and left at noon. I was surprised by how manageable the heat was. But at noon it was scorching. When the Uber picked us up. The Tesla, every Uber is a Tesla around Disneyland, had the temp at 95.

Pro tip, during the summer, there is nothing worth being in the parks for between noon and 5pm.

It was too hot for me but since we weren't waiting for a long time in an outside queue.... The humidity was higher than usual for California.
Looks like there is a decent amount of rain this morning. Hopefully that will cut the humidity.

I saw the MKs were sold out yesterday. Looks like it was locals just coming in to check out the first day of Halloween. Nothing like happy holidays on August 22.

MK reservations filled early but then opened again after a week or two. Reservations have been open for 8/22 most of this month. I think there was even availability yesterday morning.

I got to Mickey & Friends just after 10 yesterday morning and had no wait at the payment booths or to actually park (first time in forever). Was meeting friends who are only in the parks once a year & they didn't believe me when I told them I couldn't remember the last time Disneyland felt that dead. I popped over to DCA around 4 to pick up some DVC merch, and I couldn't believe how quiet it was there either. I actually texted a few other friends saying "we need to remember this for next year 🤣!"

When I hopped back to DL, I could tell the after school, post-work, first day of Halloween Time hordes were starting to arrive. I hadn't seen a single wait longer than 50 minutes in either park up until that point. We casually watched the first parade near Jolly Holiday while the girls got some end of the night treats and left as it was wrapping up - the masses were still rolling off the trams! Experiencing the transition was quite something.

I was prepared for the worst heat-wise yesterday but I actually didn't think it ended up feeling as bad as I was expecting.

Saw Toy Story lot was a disaster at 7pm as we passed in our Uber. Security and Disneyland gates were long. Haunted had a 95 minute wait most of the evening. Good thing we had 6 MEPs from earlier and decided to use 4 of them on haunted.

I just don't understand why more people wouldn't show up early and then leave in the early afternoon. It was dead in the morning.

I was wondering how they plan to run PTN at 10:30pm and close the park at 11pm. Well, maybe I got my answer - they cut the Frozen scene tonight! Only took just over 10 min to get through the parade.
I noticed the lack of Frozen, too, last night (also watched the 10:30 PM run). I'm not convinced, however, that it was an intentional cut - we watched from the Main Street train station and thought we saw the top of the Frozen float peeking out from behind the Opera House (though can't be entirely sure). If it was, this suggests that it ran for the 9 PM run and may have had technical issues getting re-started. The question would be 1) if anyone watched the 9 PM showing (and if it run then) and 2) if the Frozen float is back tonight or in the near future.
