Sorry if this has been asked before - I did a search and couldn't find anything...

Is there anywhere to see a Blue Bayou menu online...I know Deb's website has WDW menus but can't seem to locate DL ones...

Thanks! :sunny:

You don't need a menu...just order the monte cristo! hahahaha. Sorry - not sure where one is!

New Orleans Square

Blue Bayou

Probably the most famous of all Disneyland restaurants, the Bayou boasts the best atmosphere and accordingly some of the highest prices. It is a full-service restaurant located on the water's edge inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. This location is now part of the 100% Priority Seating (reservation) program. You can make reservations up to 90 days in advance by phone, and walk-up diners are accomodated only if there are cancellations. (Usually you won't be allowed to wait - you'll be given the option of taking the next available open reservation slot) The food is excellent - mostly Creole chicken dishes - and the service is top-notch. Don't miss the Bayou!

Location

Many people have a hard time finding the Blue Bayou. You just have to know where to look, I guess. Its entrance is located directly next to the exit for Pirates of the Caribbean (just opposite the Pirates Merchandise shop, Pieces of Eight).

I must say, I don't get this fascination with the Monte Christo.

We ate there in December and it was very good for both kids and adults. I had the jambalaya which was excellent (I would have preferred it spicier, so if you don't like very hot food, don't worry, this was quite mild). And contrary to what is said on that menu, we had mint juleps and they were refilled all night. Excellent service and food.

I LOVED the monte cristo....it was amazing! I am an EXTREMELY picky eater- i like bland foods (dont put anything on my burgers but cheese, eat my hot dogs plain,etc..) and this sandwhich was perfect for me. It wasn't bland at all - but very tasty and just so yummy! Oh great....now I am craving......someone fedex....quick!

I love them as well but feel they are a bit too rich. Next time DH and I will split one (which of course, leaves room for dessert!).

Does anyone have any opinions on the Chicken Florentine? What exactly is in it besides chicken and Im assuming spinach? How is it cooked?

90 days? We leave in 62 days and I started to panic because we hadn't made our PS's yet. I had my DH call and she said they weren't taking taking PS's for BB yet. She said 6 weeks to 60 days out. I can't wait to try the Monte!

I also have a question. Can someone tell me about the crab cakes? Are they spicy at all? I LOVE crab, but would like to be able to taste it, and not all kinds of spices, lol!! Any other seafood dishes there that aren't spicy?? Otherwise, I'll try the portobello mushrooms and the Monte Cristo!!

Here is a review from October 2004

I really like how the writer (Cindy Stephens) does her reviews.. gives me an idea of what to expect and an honest opinion on what is available.

The one time we had the Monte Cristo we asked for a split plate. They split the sandwhich , the salad that goes with it and brought an extra bowl in case we wanted to split DH order of soup. Asa split it was more than enough food for two of us.. no way could I eat that very rich food and feel ok wandering and riding at DL for the remaining of the day.

We have also had the:
calmari- very good.
stuffed mushrooms- tasty, but sausage was too spicy for me
clam chowder- yum!
Mint Julep-- interesting

We have made ressies and just had dessert too, at the time they had special desserts to theme with Haunted Mansion Holiday /NBC. Not spectacular but nice treat. Appetizers are a great idea to split and share.
The kid's menu is shaped like a Pirates hat that they can keep- fun souvie along with your ressie card.

I don't see the Deep Fried Cheesecake. We had it about a year ago for lunch and it was served warm with warm caramel sauce and fried plantains. OH MY GOSH!! It was melt in your mouth delicious. The Monte Cristo was also excellent but all in all too much fried food. Go for the atmosphere at during the lunch hours to save. :wizard:

Thanks Mary Jo! Its very helpful to see a current menu, especially since what I was thinking I could get isnt on it anymore. ;)

I thought we couldn't make PS until 30 days out? I made need to adjust my reminders.

Thanks for posting the menu Mary Jo! The lunch and dinner menus look very similar. Is there a big difference between say the Pork Loin you get at lunch vs. dinner? I assume the dinner portion is larger for the increased price?

Wow! The Monte Cristo price actually went down $1 from the previous year.
Can that be true?
Also, do you get a salad as well or is that extra?
My wife has never dined at the BB and I've only been there once, back when I was about 10 or 11. I'm looking forward to the experience.

I'm so happy to see chicken on the menu. In all the guidebooks, they rave about the Monte Cristo which just sounds "ugh" to me, and they mention the jambalaya, which I don't like either, and some seafoods. I really thought I wouldn't be able to eat here.

Now, I'm thinkin' we have to. :flower:

Redcon the Monte crisco comes with pasta salad (which is DELISH! I stole my son's :earboy2: )but you can get other sides, the au gratin potato dish was raved about by my son and cousin.

I LOVE the mardi gras salad, it's soooooooooo good and the crab cakes, they are truly delish! The comes with a lobster sauce and rice very very tasty. And of course numerous mint juleps!!

What the heck is a monte cristo ???? I need detail please!!!! :teeth:

Hate to put a damper on things but when we were there in August 2004 the food was horrible, the service slow and we didn't care for it. Perhaps I was disappointed after hearing all the raves and expected too much. Am used to paying lots for food on vacation so it wasn't the price ... service and food quality...makes or breaks it for us...and it wasn't there for our visit. But, perhaps it was just a bad day.

Sorry when you went you had a bad experience!! It's always hard when something you look forward too for so long isn't up to your expectations, with us that happened at WDW with a stay ASMo and also dinner at Goofy's Kitchen, you just never know.

I can say just last year alone we went to Blue Bayou twice in July and once in Nov. both times in July they were good times but nov. it was GREATIt's just a roll of the dice! Hope the rest of your trip was great!
