Blue Bayou Menu?

I had lunch at the Blue Bayou yesterday, and since grinningghost said that she likes chicken, I thought I would try the French Quarter chicken.

A friend & I had 12:50 PS, and I requested waterside when we checked in. There was a line of people at the check-in desk. They were not taking walk-ups, and people were finding out that the next lunch time available was after 3:pm, so I highly recommend calling in priority seating ahead of time. 1-714-781-3463.

We sat next to the water, but really, it's so dim in there you can hardly see the boats passing by. I didn't want to mess anything up with a flash so I didn't take a pic.

The atmosphere was nice, as usual, and the waitstaff were very attentive.

I ordered the French Quarter chicken, and it was chicken breast stuff with creamed spinach, on top of a bed of tasty pasta. It wasn't spicy in the least, but very flavorful. I ordered mint julep with it, but should have stuck with just water since I didn't drink it all. The chicken & pasta were delish, but I couldn't finish the pasta - just too much food. My friend had the Monte Cristo sandwich. He didn't say anything about it, but he ate every last bite, so I think he liked it. :) We were too full, so declined any dessert. Oh, we also got an appetizer of calamari -- and it was delicious!

I am planning on making a PS at the BB and we just want to get dessert. My kids will not eat most of the food there, and it is so expensive, I think dessert is the best option for us. Is this an ok practice, or is it frowned upon? Also, I can't find a menu anywhere online, what kinds of desserts do they serve? TIA! pirate:

Thanks for the great description Mary Jo! Thats exactly what I was looking for. :) Its all making sense that the chicken Florentine I saw on another menu must now be called French Quarter Chicken. That was too easy, LOL! ;) But whatever its called, it sounds great!

scanmom: You must have missed this on the first page of this thread (provided by Mary Jo -- thanks!):
Chocolate Pecan Pie - $4.95
Crème Brulee - $4.95
Chocolate Mousse Cake - $4.95

I wouldn't think there'd be a problem with just ordering dessert. I'm sure many people do this. Fact is, we may do this as well during our upcoming visit.

I called today to make a priority seating reservation and you can call in advance up to 6 weeks-not before.
Have a great trip! :earsboy:
