I was also disappointed in the decor, but I'm willing to wait to see it in person before final judgement. I know sometimes pictures of the rooms do not do them justice as in person.

Glad they have finally announced it and we no longer have to keep speculating what that structure is!!!!!!

I don't think it is so much about resales, but perhaps more about bolstering pricing. Some resort is going to be at the bottom of the pricing pile, but SSR (love it or leave it) has experienced, I think, a disparity in pricing great enough that it weighs on the whole pricing strucure. This is a pretty nifty antidote.

I agree, I think this will give SSR the lift it needed both in pricing and desirability. The Treehouses have always intrigued me and I think they will be an excellent draw.

And I think Disney has been hanging around here.

I have read way too many "gushing" posts about "how great the monorail is" and "I can't wait to watch the fireworks from my room" etc..... The only difference is she gushed out loud.

Plus there have been several "attempts" to "break and enter" and view the "rooms" at SSR over the past months!

I think the theming was not that great either. I was expecting something really spectacular. I am still hoping this was just her vision of what it might look like and not the real thing. Because they were just showing what was in her imagination.

Uh oh... just watched the whole video and I'm not liking the room decor... have to watch it again... first impression is disappointment. I really expected something 'WOW'... all I got was, 'eh'.

thats what I thought......I never loved CR decor....I just thought BLT would WOW me

It is exciting though.....I'll definately stay there if i can get in.

That would be great but I'm guessing that was the actual model. I still want to buy there and am hoping with great lighting we'll see more color. Right now it looks brown and grey and blah

BLT points are in the Point Calculator on the member site. I just figured out how many points I need to say in either a 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom for Oct or Dec.

We will stay at BLT the nights we go to MNSSHP or MVMCP. The rest of the time, we'll just stay at our 1st home, BWV.

Well, I guess 35 pts a night for Sun - Thurs isn't TOO bad for a MK view...I'd have to consider it maybe for a 1 or 2 night stay...

I'm sorry - it's probably just me, but I like OKW and SSR and the smaller "vacation home" feeling buildings as opposed to the the larger hotel-feeling buildings...

Nobody ever said I was of my right mind though...

For those asking whether the Tree-House villas are planned to be 3BRs, go here for a picture of the drawing submitted by Disney to the government agency back in February:

But if you look closely, there is only one queen bed in each of the non-master rooms so it sleeps the same as other 2 bedroom villas. Might be nice for people with guests who want more privacy but not the size of a grand villa?

sorry if this has alrerady been posted...no time to scroll through all posts since on way to a meeting... just spoke with my guide while driving... she said price is 112 but existing owners can get a 5 incentive and if you buy160 pts then you get a special tile in the lobby with your name on it.

So, it looks like the points charts are going to be very high for the special view categories. I just ran the points calculator on DVC site to see what the week from Dec 24-31 would cost.

A 1 Br is 351 points for the week on a standard view. This is roughly the same as an AKV Savanah view (349) or a Boardwalk/Preferred View at BWV (350). But, at BLT, you'll pay 388 for a Lake View 1 Br during that week and a whopping 468 points for a Magic Kingdom View for that same week.

Now, in the lowest season (I picked Dec 1-8) those three views are 202, 223, and 270 respectively. Compare against an AKV savannah view of 205, an AKV concierge of 241, and a BWV Boardwalk View of 200 points.

I apologize to those that like them. I was just kind of shocked. My tastes run more to WLV and BCV. Ah well, different strokes. I guess Disney has something for everyone.
