Are there any opinions on Block Party Bash? I've seen a few pictures and it looks fun, but it looks like you only get to see a small portion of the "event" if you watch from Hollywood Blvd. Is it worth hang around to see?

Any recommendations for viewing locations?

I'm 23 and I've seen it twice...well, more like one time for the whole show (when it was in Disneyland) and we just caught the ending on our last trip. I really like it! It's pretty high energy and a lot of fun. You do pretty much only see a couple floats for the "show" but as they leave you can see the others. I'd give it a shot.

I thought it was a huge disappointment. We were in a spot where we didn't have a float infront of us so IMHO it was a waste of time.

We saw it twice a couple weeks ago. The first time a float was not directly in front of us but the performers are very interactive and high energy. There was a group of trampoline "dancers" and nearby was one of the army men who do a sort of narration. We were on the second half of the route and CM's kept the kids entertained with hula hooping and talking to the crowd while we waited for the parade to get there.

The second time we were taking shade under the socerer's hat so not exactly up front but still had a good view. This would be an excellent area to view the parade as it is near the front of the first stop (Toy Story) and also the end of the second stop (Bug's Life) so you would get to see the "performace" twice.

At the very end they shoot out nerf balls that make really cool souveniers so keep an eye out for them (they fly quite randomly from the tops of the floats I believe) We got lucky that the army man near us saw my kids didn't get any and he threw one directly to us after the others had been scrambled for. :cheer2:

I saw it just opposite the "Tailor to the Stars" and it was perfect location..

Trampoline right in front of us.. floats on either side of that.

The music was upbeat and put me in a good mood and I was bopping along in no time!

It definitely is worth sticking around for. We saw it in April near Sounds Dangerous and thought it was a great spot! :)

Definately worth seeing, just try to find a spot with some shade to watch. They stop for a while to perform and it gets really hot watching in the sun.

I'm glad to see good reviews of this, Stars and Cars was my favorite parade so I was hoping this would be good too.

I learned the perfect spot here on the Dis! Its on the stairs of the old "Doug Live" theatre. It was awesome. Shaded and cool and a great spot to just hang for awhile. It was a nice parade, but its not a "have to see again" parade for me or my DH.

This afternoon I took the bus over to DHS for the sole purpose of seeing this parade and I really disliked it. I won't waste my time on it again. :( I loooooooove Spectro so maybe I was just expecting something similar and it was nothing like that.

We actually weren't going to stay for it when we were there last week, but ended up being in DHS longer than we planned and were there anyhow. We stepped out from one of the shops and were right there at it as it started. We really liked the preshow street entertainers too....very funny characters and preyy well acted. Lots of crowd interaction. Once the parade started, we say a few floats before the Monsters Inc float stopped right in front of us. Not sure how to recommend figuring out how to place yourself in front of a float, but that's the place to be. I can see how if you were not right at the float as they stop it would be kind of a drag....floatside is really where all the action is. Lots of street performers....acrobatics, stilt jumpers, dancers....high high energy. The army men commanders were cool too, and we all had a blast...I liked the interactivity a lot...really made it stand out from other more standard parades. Go Pixar!

Very :offtopic:, but I really enjoyed 'Doug Live' IMO probably the best show we've ever seen at WDW.

I am having a hard time remembering where this is. Can you give me an idea???

I could not agree more!! We LOVED that show and really do miss it.

We were right in front of a float when we saw it and were still very disappointed with it. I thought it lasted too long and seemed like the same thing going on and on. The floats were neat but there were only like three of them. The nerf balls were the highlight of it. We will be skipping this next time.

just remember that this show is not like a parade where the floats come by you. The 4 stages stop, and the performance is held for close to 20 minutes. The stages then move to the next stop. It is very different from the normal parade where all the floats come by continuously. It is odd if you are at the second stop because you can see the show, hear the music, but you have to wait. Still worth it.
