Yeah I wasn't impressed either, and since TRU is out of the way for me I won't go on Black Friday. Although no one has really impressed me this year, the few things I got excited about turned out to be an older and less good version then what I want.

This would be one of the smaller bowls. It's still a good size bowl to use. The larger bowls are usually for those who like to double the batch on their recipes.

No, with the kitchen aid mixers, the bowl size is dictated by the mixer! I have one with the 5 or 6 quart bowl (can't remember which...I've had mine for 13 years and it was the "biggest" but non-commerical one for sale at the time) and I love it! My DS called it the "cookie maker" when he was little since I used (and continue to) it so often for mixing up batches of cookies.

Also, the smaller the mixer (with kitchen aid) the smaller the "engine." I don't know what your MIL plans to make...but if she's doing a lot of "attachment work" that may impact your decision.

Black Friday roundup is back, Best Buy, Target, Staples and more

Black Friday is almost here with every day bringing more ads full of deep discounts. While many of these ads are unconfirmed leaks from stores like Best Buy, Circuit City and Target; several store including Staples and Dell have confirmed their ads with Dealnews.com. Additionally, T-Mobile and Bare Necessities have shared their Black Friday specials directly with WalletPop.com readers.

As we approach the week of Black Friday there will be plenty more ads coming out and more information on when to get in line or to log on in order to get the best deals. We are still waiting to see what Amazon and Walmart as well as many others bring to the table this year. Keep checking back, we'll be sure to let you know what to look for on Black Friday as well as what deals to expect on Cyber Monday!




bESTst Buy
Best Buy's leaked ad brings several tempting door busters to the table, including a 50" plasma for $899 and a 32" LCD for $399. There's a well equipped Toshiba laptop sporting a 15.4' screen, dual core processor, 3 GB of ram and a 160 GB hard drive for $379! There's also one of the best deals on an Xbox 360 so far, including two extra games on top of those which come with the holiday bundle for a total of four games in the $299 package.

Circuit City
Circuit City ups the ante this year by offering several name-brand HDTV deals on Black Friday including a 42" Samsung Plasma for $699 and a 32" Toshiba for $449! At these prices, there's no reason to go with a store brand when you can enjoy the quality of Samsung or Toshiba. Circuit City, which has filed for bankruptcy and is closing many stores, is also discounting numerous video games and Blu-Ray titles for Black Friday. Even though many of these titles have been out for a few months, they make a great gift to go with one of the many Xbox 360 deals going on.

What's else is on tap at places like Target, Staples and Dell?

Target
Continuing the Trend, Target has a 26" TV on sale for only $299 but the sales at Target really shine on DVD boxed sets of TV shows. Target has recent seasons of favorites such as Psych, The Simpsons and House for $13.98. Target also has a smattering of deals on many categories which include practical savings on kid's clothes and small kitchen appliances.

Staples
Dan de Grandpre from Dealnews.com has come through yet again, confirming several great deals from Staples which will be available in store and online on Black Friday! Staples' Black Friday sales include a Tom Tom GPS unit for $99, a 7" digital picture frame for $39.99 and a 19" LCD monitor for under $100. With rock bottom prices on high quality items, Staples shows their experience with Black Friday by putting together an excellent collection of deals worthy of Black Friday.

Dell
While the rest of your family is lined up outside of the local mall freezing their turkey fat off, you can scoop up some deals at Dell.com and enjoy a slice of warm pumpkin pie at the same time. Dell has several standout deals this year including a $50 discount on their new netbook the Inspiron Mini 9. There are also many other computer deals and additional savings on the Xbox 360 with 7 games including Rock Band 2 for $199! Don't get too excited though; the bundle doesn't include a hard drive or any instruments, so buyer beware.

T Mobile
While many cell phone carriers will only be pushing handsets discounts to new customers on Black Friday; T Mobile's kicking it up a notch by offering a free companion airline ticket to new and existing customers. Any customer who signs up for a 2 year agreement between November 19th and December 24th will qualify for a no black out date companion ticket on top of the phone specials. Customers with family plans will be able to get up to 5 tickets, one for each line on the account, setting the stage for a few fun getaways in 2009.

Bare Necessities
This year we have seen many new entrants to the Black Friday sales offerings and Bare Necessities is an excellent example of how to join the festivities. Bare Necessities is offering low prices on lingerie and underwear this year including sexy garter belts, thongs and bras all under $10. Don't worry ladies; they also have great deals on gifts for guys including a selection of men's clothing and underwear online. Bare Necessities' Black Friday offerings are sure to heat up your holidays without burning through your cash!

Anyone know how much the My size barbie normally is? I can't find it online anywhere to compare the price. DD just saw the Walmart ad and says she wants one. Is $35 worth going to Walmart on Black Friday for? I am just not sure how great of a discount it is since I can't find a regular prices one.

No, with the kitchen aid mixers, the bowl size is dictated by the mixer! I have one with the 5 or 6 quart bowl (can't remember which...I've had mine for 13 years and it was the "biggest" but non-commerical one for sale at the time) and I love it! My DS called it the "cookie maker" when he was little since I used (and continue to) it so often for mixing up batches of cookies.

Also, the smaller the mixer (with kitchen aid) the smaller the "engine." I don't know what your MIL plans to make...but if she's doing a lot of "attachment work" that may impact your decision.
