Black Friday Buddies 2011 Unite!

Does anyone know if the Old Navy BF sale prices are online also? I don't care about the camera I just want one item.
Thanks

Anyone have the Best Buy ad? When I click on the link on the first page of this thread it says "page not found".
Thanks!

The Walmart Black Friday ad came in my newspaper today. (The only BF ad there.) It is very easy to tell when the sales start in the paper ad. It looks like most things we are going after go on sale at 10! :sad2: I hate that everything is happening so early this year.

I have always been able to get the deals online. You won't get the camera but as you said that doesn't matter/

Hi y'all...

ok, so I have two little girls DD4 and DD8, plus a niece, 8, and lots of other family members. I'm usually quite reserved in my commercialism, feeling that second-hand or "don't really need that" is usually the greenest option in all senses of the word... but Christmas, especially the week around black friday, is usually the exception... there's the energy, the excitement, and, honestly, the DEALS...

I would say I'm about 70% done with my shopping already, and the only "she'll cry if she doesn't get it" left on the list that comes to mind is "Gogo the walking pup," who NOBODY seems to be putting on any kind of good sale...

... so that, combined with the Thursday opening madness, combined with the fact that TRU just CANCELLED my glow-cube order (BOGO) for my niece... it's just got me feeling very grinchy, or at least, not super-shopperish.

I'm Sooooo mad at TRU... they didn't send the email cancelling my order until AFTER the BOGO sale was over, so I couldn't even downgrade to a BOGO glow book... the second one was for charity...bunch of grinches!

I am sooooo over TRU. This is their third strike (I had already driven into the store because they told me they had them, then they didn't, then I ordered and they cancelled, then there was the price-matching issue last week.) I have a $10 GC in my wallet and there will be some other bonus after christmas for what I've already spent... I will be sure to spend all that as close-to-exactly as possible... so that I get back what I was promised but they do not profit (much) off me...

but at this point, I'm thinking of just forgetting about Black Friday this year, paying the extra to get the last few "must-haves," and being done with it.

The stores are competing so hard that they are ruining the experience... (and before I get flamed, I worked for years as a cashier, and even then I loved the energy.)

DH is wanting a Tablet. I found a Crystal View 7" Android Tablet for $45 at a local grocery chain (HEB) for Black Friday.

I know nothing about tablets and was wondering if this is a good deal for a first Tablet? :confused3

Or.....should I dish out the $$$ and get him a different one? :confused3

TIA for all your help and advise.

Did anybody get the Bath and Body Works VIP tote last year? I see seven things on their website, are those the things everybody gets and the other four are a surprise? Just wondering if people were happy with their items last year...

I totally understand about TRU. I call them the "Evil Empire". They are nuts! I try not to shop their at all. I have not walked into their store on BF in years. They are insane! Do not feel bad about not shopping there.

I didn't like the scent but love the bag and the purchase was on a whim:confused3 I gave all the items but the bag to our church for their restrooms. I received lotion, body wash, wall flower, two wall flowere inserts, body sponge, purse hand sanitizer and a few other thing non-memorable. Every bag has the same thing and you can look through it before you purchase. And the tote itself is an item.

Last year Walmart gave out tickets...we had to go to the area where each item was located well before the time it went on sale and they gave us a ticket and we had to come back at the time it went on sale to pick it up

This happened at our local Walmarts and created quite the ruckus. Many people received their ticket at Midnight for the 5am deals and the people that lined up to get their ticket closer to 5am were told all the tickets were already handed out. I thought this was very deceptive because it wasn't announced that they would be handling it this way. But I guess it's free for all on BF.

In my opinion it should be a lottery: Show up at midnight until an announced time to get a ticket and then at 5 am get your item if you are picked. You would be able to get the item until 7am and if you do not claim it a lottery for second chance goes into effect. There are still downsides to this but it would still get you into the store and buy the impulse items.

Sorry I don't know how to multi quote yet.:)

I'm thinking about buying my daughter an iPod Nano for Christmas. She's currently looking for a used one to use in her car (I guess it bluetooths or something). I thought that I would get her a new one if I could find a good deal. I've googled and googled and haven't found any BF sales. Can anybody point me in the direction of a great deal??? TIA!! :thumbsup2

sorry, there really aren't very many deals on those things. you can get an iPod touch for $189 at wal-mart, but i haven't seen a deal on the nano. you might check apple.com for a refurbished one. they have decent deals sometimes.

Thanks! I think I found a pretty good deal a few minutes ago. TRU has one for $129.99 with a $30 gift card. There's also a coupon for a $10 gift card with a purchase of $75 so that would give me $40 worth of gift cards (not sure whether the $10 is good with this though - I didn't read the small print ;)).

If the "generation" means anything watch out on the Ipod deals.

Sometimes the updates are minor and sometimes it's large changes so if this means anything to you - watch the deals carefully.

OK..so maybe I am incredibly lucky or incredibly stupid, but I found almost all my must have big ticket items today for pretty much the prices I wanted!

Laptop for DD11- wanted to spend $300 or less, got it for $269.00 at Best Buy (Toshiba) AND it included a fee 8x8 shutterfly photobook! and anti virus software! came to a total of $288.00 with tax

Xbox 360 w/ Kinext bundle- wanted ideally the deal for $199.00 at Walmart..paid $299.00 at Bestbuy.com and it comes with a $100.00 Best Buy gift card! not bad at all!

55" Samsung LED TV- priced at $999.00 on BF at Best Buy, got it today for $1099.00, original price is $2099.00. A hundred more, but hey, I didn't wait in line and NOT get it!

Spyro starter pack- paid $49.99 today at Target! Saw it for $69.99 in a lot of BF ads! So another good deal!

So glad I looked! I got all my big things out of the way and can now just have my normal fun on BF!!!

Keep an eye out on BEst Buy.com for weekly specials! that is where I found the Xbox deal! Newegg is also running a similar deal :)

happy shopping!
