Black Friday Buddies 2011 Unite!

Yes, Walmart has already said they will match Black Friday ads, and I had them do it last year, so I can confirm it, and they have said very clearly they will do it again this year...

No, it's not a perfect (for the consumer) arrangement. There are several caveats:
1. It has to be a local competitor, someone with a physical store nearby.
2. It has to be during the hours of the competitor (Walmart will not match Kmart's black friday prices at 3am if Kmart doesn't open until 5am.)
3. The item has to be in-stock at the competitor-- this is the flip side of #2 -- if TRU opens at 9 and you buy all your things at Walmart at 11pm, their policy says they can call the local TRU and see if there are any left on the shelf there, if not, they will not price match

So, while it would be AWESOME (if a bit commando) to load up a cart at walmart starting at 9pm with everything on sale at TRU, everything on sale at Walmart at 10pm, everything from Kohl's and Penney's and TRU 5am, etc, and check out just once at 5am... not only would you be a story the cashier would tell for years to come, but if Walmart chose to call TRU and ask if they had any of those 9pm SuperHoochyDeluxe Dolls left... the answer would almost definitely be "no" and they could deny the price match.

In addition, I think some of these black friday deals have special model numbers. They will only price match the same model numbers.

I wonder if there is any possibility that the BF ads will be in Sunday's paper, given that Walmart released their online last Thursday and I got the AAFES 4 day ads (including their BF ad) in the mail yesterday.

Sorry if this has already been asked but what time should I line up for Best Buy? They open at midnight and I want to try for the 42" tv for $199. What do you guys suggest? I live in Phoenix so the weather we'll be warmer then most places.

Honestly, no later than 9pm, earlier if you can manage. Bring a folding beach chair and a good book to read/ Christmas cards to address/ a portable craft project... it's also not a bad idea to bring a buddy, because even if the weather isn't cold there, you don't want to be in line for 4 hours, then have a "potty emergency" 15 minutes before store opening.

Best Buy is always a tough one, so many good deals, so many eager shoppers. Around here (MD), they frequently have to lock down the store and only let customers in as others exit due to the fire codes.

Actually, come to think of it, didn't a few people get mugged coming out of Best Buys last year? I'm thinking DEFINITELY take a buddy. :)

Has anyone seen an ad for Big Lots yet? I can't find one anywhere...

Is this terrible - I've looked at the ads online and I want the Xbox 360 with Kinect for myself, not for my kids! :lmao:

From the ads that I looked at it seems like Wal-mart has the best deal pricewise. And I could use the $50GC to get the Disneyland Adventures game. Merry Christmas to me!!!! :santa:

I see that Fry's ad still isn't out yet. I know that they're not everywhere but they might be worth checking out if electronics is the goal.

I want to get an ipod touch from target(the one with the $40 GC), what time should I line up? Was thinking 9ish.

Good luck!
The past years they've been lining up 2-3 days early in my neighborhood. 2 years ago it pouring rain and there were still people in their tents!

Anyone seen Home Depot's anywhere?? They had some good battery deals last year, and I got live wreaths for the house for $5 (I think)

Just updated first page with link to Mejier ad. I have not seen Big Lots or Home Depot yet. I can't believe BF is next week. :cool1:

Okay, I just don't need it that bad. I love the sport of bf but that is crazy and not worth it. Lol. I guess I'll just have to enjoy my Thanksgiving.

Yep, no way. Too bad people have to be so crazy. Doesn't anyone work? How can they sit for days in front of a store?

Where are we at with online shopping for Best Buy and Wal-Mart. I am still after the Canon T3i at one or the other but can't be there IRL. I have to shop online and don't know when to start to look? Thanksgiving day?

Nothing for the DisneyStore yet?
I am hoping to order pj pals for my daycare kids (6 sets). There are a few boys sets that are on sale right now, but I have 3 girls to buy for as well and would like to find a sale price on all of them if I can.
I'm hoping for some good deals for the Disney Store online.
Right now, PJ Pals are BOGO (i.e. $16.50 for two - though it looks like some of the boy ones are $19.50). Hopefully the BF deal is better.
