Black friday buddies 2010 unite! BACK FROM THE TRENCHES POST YOUR WAR STORIES!

This year I think we will see more DVD sales and some Blu-Rays. I am guessing that there will be a nice Blu-Ray player that will be $100 or less! :)

Just a tip .... if you subscribe to Borders, they send you and email about once or twice a week for a 33 to 40% off coupon. The now have started to sell toys ( and Legos). I have slowly been picking up a few sets since my son loves them and I can never find them on sale.

Great idea, thanks! I'm watching for Legos, Wii, DS and Didj games, and (hopefully) small and large flat screen TVs, maybe 32" and 46" or around there. Keeping my fingers crossed for good deals!

I'm thinking "not so much" on DVD -- and you're right on the money about Blu-ray -- the deals will be HUGE (since just last year, Target was selling a Sony BR player for about $120 and Walmart had a Magnavox for around $75).

And now that BR discs have come down in price, I am fully expecting some of 2010's big movies to be available for $15 or less.

Didn't know that about Borders, I need to head over and sign up! I think BluRay will be huge this year, too. I don't usually do a lot of BF shopping because A) the BF stuff isn't usually on my kids lists and I don't want to buy it JUST because it is on sale and B) I hate, hate, HATE getting up in the middle of the night to go fight a crowd for ANY reason.

Now I have too many options though. My husband has mentioned wanting an iPad and I tentatively had that in mind for him. BUT he loves movies and techie stuff so getting a good deal on BR movies and a player would make a nice gift, too.

Our walmart currently has that same blu-ray player for 68.00. They had a whole bunch left after black friday and they just could not get rid of them. Personally I do not see them selling even at the 68.00 price as they are sure to be out of date.

Totally in...looking for a Fisher Price iXL for DS and games for it, Epic Mickey, GPS, ipod Touch, and some DVDs

So excited going to bake pumpkin cream cheese muffins to take for morning snack with cups of pumpkin spice coffee...

I so love getting up for these deals although I think the planning is the most fun...

I think they are great to update the bedrooms and guestrooms to a blu ray. I agree on the main tv's though, the streaming features are great on the newer models.
I have burned through 2 blu rays in the living room and 1 in the game room and had to replace this year with new ones and was able to get the new features. I think 3D will be a big thing this year and I am looking for a great deal on a 3D enabled TV / Blu Ray for the game room, a smaller 40 inch would be perfect for that room and for a family present.

This is the first year I can actually shop for black friday, as I have always had to work at 5am. I am pretty pumped!

Does Apple have BF sales? For all those looking for Ipod 8gb I purchased a laptop and got a free ipod 8gb I am not sure what I am going to do with mine, but I am sure there are alot of college kids that got one free that are trying to sell theirs for extra money so you might look on craigslist. :) I would love to know what Apple usually does for BF, I may go ahead and purchase a refurbished one now if they don't have great deals.

Well, now that my purse was stolen last week, I am looking for a new digital camera and 160gb ipod.:headache:

Who says you can't get the same things for Christmas twice in a row?!?

Don't usually shop on BF but I want a Kindle, really bad! Wonder if there will be any deals on those??

I will be keeping an eye on GPS prices (after having DH make a wrong turn on a trip the other day I realized that I could really use this) and looking for a better camera! not sure what else yet

Somehow, I doubt they do, as Apple stores tend to be more "boutique" -- plus, Apple products typically never go on sale (instead, retailers like Walmart and Target usually tie-in a gift card offer to an iPod).

If there are, you may be able to do it straight from your computer (think: "Cyber Monday"), since Kindles are exclusive to Amazon.com (and also sold in Target stores, and at Target's own website).

That stinks! sorry about that! I am on the hunt for a camera too. For my 13 year old dd- she wants mine- a Nikon Coolpix

Always happy to follow the Black Friday group. I went last year by myself and had a blast!

Two years ago we got the huge Sharp flat screen from Sears, last year the HE washer and dryer. Both were under 1K on black Friday. Luck for us I can just walk into our little remote store and pre order what I want, no waiting at the city. Then I get to go to the city for the Wal-mart and others.

DH mans the computer at home and does the Toys R Us for me and any other stores that have online.

I really have enjoyed following this thread for the past two years and hoping 3 is even better.

Wonder what Sears has for me this year???

I posted this but just found this thread. BlackFriday.org came out with their predictions and some of the deals look good, looks like TVs and GPS are going to be the main sellers which is good because we really need a new TV for the family room.

Well I am kinda late at joining this thread but COUNT ME IN!!!

Black Friday is like a Holiday for me. I love Thanksgiving day but I practically live for BFriday. I have been a BF shopper since I got my first car in 1987 and I have been doing the BF thing ever since.

This year, I need an I-Pod touch, GPS and Leapster Explorer. Those are my largest ticket items. I do need a new PC and if I can make it on just my laptop until then I will pick up a new PC on BF. Well let the countdown begin. My favorite website for BF is www.bfads.net. I even buy a new T-shirt from their site every year to wear over my sweatshirt. That way I dont have to be bulked down with a coat....Yeah, baby, I have a serious shopping system and strategy. Oh yeah, I can't wait!!!
